Christine tells us their story, We are very pleased as although we are competing at different clubs it is nice to see the results. Both these puppies plus 3 other of their litter mates and their mother were going to be shot by a farmer - the mother was 7months old and the puppies about 5 weeks we think. I rescued them all the mother being a black and white B/C semi long haired and B e a u b e i n g a Chocolate and white and Co ( short for Co- Incidental CDXSilver, U D X, W D X, A D X G, CGCG, RN, JD, FDX ) being a Chocolate Tri colour, and the 3 other pups were black and white same as the mother. The fathers of these pups we never knew may have been a heading type dog or one of many other farm dogs from God knows where!!!! Some people think that Co is a Sibeboard! I found excellent homes for the Mum (once I got her speyed and got some weight on her) and the Black and white Picture shows Co working in rally pups also got great homes and I still hear from their owners occasionally. I was going to keep Beau and was tempted to rehome Co, but Co had bonded so well with one of our Grandson's that made the decision for me. Aimee was keen on the pups so I decided that she would be a super home for Beau so Aimee took him. Sadly he ended up with elbow problems, but that can

My boy Pete ended up th, pretty good for a nearly 12 year old dog who was also going to be put down because of issues he had! So I am extremely proud of the three of them!!! Aimee writes If there's anything you'd like to know about Beau (aka. Heez Beaulistic RN), here are a few things that may be of interest (as a laugh): I first laid eyes on Beau as a 9wk old puppy at an agility show in Ardmore. My Mum had been at an agility show on the Saturday and had told me that our friend, Christine Neilsen, had rescued a 10 month old BC bitch and her litter of puppies from being hit over the head with a spade and chucked down the offal pit, and there was one puppy still looking for a home. She described him as 'funny looking but cute', so on the Sunday I tagged along to the s h o w t o s e e h i m. He was cute (Mum was right, kind of in a funny looking way) but what made me think he was special was when Beau, who was chasing Co, his sister, ran head first into a parked van while Co was smart enough to duck! So alas, I took him home...who else would take this stupid puppy?! give the course a go, as Beau is obedient when he's in 'working' mode. That month we won Rally-O link, and now Rally-O YTD. What I love about Rally-O is that the dogs don't get penalised for enjoying themselves; Beau likes to 'talk' and I like knowing that he's enjoying working with me. That's all I can ask for. NALA has been going for over 20 years He's had a few set backs ; he was diagnosed with OCD of the right shoulder as an 8 month old puppy, so had surgery, followed by a couple of months of strict cage rest and a lot of physio/swimming etc. He constantly knocks into things ; he's like a bull in a china shop! He's run into a post ( by ) and ended up skinning his shoulder, legs and side, so more crate rest. He's also quite well known at my workplace, agility shows and by general public for being 'the mad dog' - if you seen a choc/white BC running backwards, tugging at his lead, that'd be Beau. Beau is now 7 years 'young' and as crazy as every. Fiona Ferrar introduced me to Rally-O in April of 2010, by asking me if I wanted to

NALA/NZARO 2011 competition details NALA is an organisation that has been going for over 20 years, offering agility handlers a form of competition at their own training grounds. NZARO has two pages in the Agility Link magazine and with these we can offer a monthly competition and spread a little bit of news about NZARO Rally around our agility friends. This year the winners were litter mates as described in the front page story. The winners of the teams competition was:- Wanganui Anyone can compete in the competition, however you must be either a NZARO or NALA member to have scores recorded for the monthly competition. There is an individuals and a teams section.
