1 Jaguar Jargon Volume 35, No. 4 MAY 2012 Join Us for a Day at Narcisi Winery on Sunday, June 24 By Tony Rocco Even though Old Man Winter wasn t as tough on us as he could have been this year, it is always good to see him in the rear view mirror and know that the fun times of spring, summer and beyond are now underway. While we already have a couple of great car events under our belt for the 2012 season, we would like you to come join us for another pleasant afternoon of wine tasting, entertainment and camaraderie with your Jaguar friends (see page 5) Summer in the City! Rosemary & Dick Bishop, left, and Karen & Dave Murphy, right, enjoy the sunshine at the US Steel Plaza Display of Jaguars May 18. For more photos of JCOP s first show of the season, see pages 6 & 7. 3 JAGUAR JARGON PAGE 3 JCOP President s Message Linda S. Drago, Esq. Well the 2012 show season is underway. One of the events coming up in June is the Dsiplay of Jaguars at La Casa Narcisi Winery on Sunday, June 24 th. This promises to be a relaxing afternoon to just enjoy good company, beautiful Jaguars, great wine and live music. Last year was the first year that we sponsored this event, and those who attended had a great time and asked that we sponsor it again this year. The big event is July, of course, is the 2012 Concours event at the Pittsburgh Vintage Gran Prix, along with the Concours Welcome Dinner at the Doubletree Hotel in Monroeville. There is a silent auction at the dinner organized by Terry and Barb Smith. If any member would like to donate an item to the auction, please contact Terry or a member of the JCOP Board. Donations will be greatly appreciated. I hope to see all of you at these events. I would also like to remind our regular members to send in their 2012 dues, which were due in January. It seems that we have not yet received dues from a significant number of our active members. The Club partially subsidizes most of our events, and we cannot continue to do that if we don t collect dues from our members. Thank you, we value your friendship and participation in Club events. Let s keep this Club going another 40 years! I would like to thank Jack and Pat Terrick for organizing the trip to the National Packard Museum, in Warren, Ohio. It was a joint event with the Jaguar Club of Ohio. Approximately fifty members enjoyed the tour, and the dinner afterward which was Save the Date! Friday, July 20 JCOP Concours Dinner and Silent Auction Doubletree by Hilton Hotel, Monroeville All Welcome! Details Soon! organized by Mike Meyer and his colleagues in the Ohio Club. I would also like to thank Ed Graham for chairing the U.S. Steel Plaza Display of Jaguars. It turned out to be a beautiful day and a wonderful opportunity to show off some beautiful Jaguars in Downtown Pittsburgh. If anyone has any suggestions for new activities or events that Club members could participate in, please pass your suggestions on to me or any member of the Board. It is YOUR Club and we welcome your ideas and participation. Hope to see you soon!
