3 From The Editor Where has this year gone too. The last several months has disappeared in rapid succession and like everyone else I m looking forward to Spring at some stage followed by Summer. Blake the unofficial Mascot of the Rover Car Club of Otago who was accompanied by his staff at the Nove Roves and Rover Roves over the past several years passed away recently. His last outing was with us at the Catlins overnighter This photo was taken on the boardwalk at Lake Wilkie last month.

Minutes: that the minutes of the previous meeting as circulated in the November Tribune be accepted as a true and accurate record. Online access. - Jan to provide form to bank re. Signatory - ARCC subs due by end of Dec, financial members at 1st Nov totalled 33 = $66 ($2 per member). - outstanding subs not paid by the end of Dec will be recorded as cessation of membership. MATTERS ARISING / GENERAL Seacliff - all in hand, contact will be made if any further details emerge. RSA - meals will be available now on Tuesday's if we book a minimum of 20 people. Alterations are expected complete Feb/Mar at which time the Cafe will reopen. Meeting closed 7:00pm N.B. No meeting in January. Next meeting: Tuesday February 3rd RSA Mosgiel 6:30pm

5 IGNITION December 2014 We had the December club meeting in the in the same place in the corner of the bar area on the sofas. Attendance as per minutes. In the correspondence was a letter from the RSA club that informed us that the meals should be available again in Feb or March. In the reply we will let them know that we have no meeting in January. I have sent a Xmas Advent Calendar to members with addresses. This may take a short while to download as it is quite big, there are sections that can only be opened as the days are reached. Also some other areas that contain Puzzles & Games...ENJOY.. Had a nice BBQ on Sunday, With Neighbors, University Workmates & some of our Rover Club Members. It was in the Workshop, (The old Shop) I should have put out one of our ROVER signs. We had one group go to the wrong place and I understand some people could not find it. Sorry My Fault. I have not been able to get any more details on Seacliffe but will contact everybody if anything is on before our next meeting. I was sent an of Sainsbury's supermarket Christmas advert for this year, which is very poignant taking into account the 100th anniversary of World War I beginning. Well worth a look. 7 This is a basically sound car which is well worth restoring. The interior is original, but getting tatty. Since deciding to start repairing this car it s cost me about $5,000. 10 An invitation to the Highlands Festival of Speed 2015 Hello, What is the Highlands Festival of Speed? Three days of some of the most spectacular classic racing to be seen in New Zealand! Headlining the Highlands Festival of Speed connected by ENZED is an invitational field of Australian Touring Car Masters taking on competitors from New Zealand s own Central Muscle Cars to create the first mighty trans-tasman muscle car battle on this side of the ditch. Races for modern and classic saloons, vintage and classic single seaters, and Formula Libre open-wheelers will be supported by the first New Zealand appearance of the little, fast and fun Aussie Racing Cars. Classic and retro vehicle displays, Central Otago wines, fine food, good music and fashion from the eras also feature at the Highlands Festival of Speed, which bring back all the glitz and glamour of classic motor racing! Friday is all about practice and qualifying, Saturday is a whole day of pure racing and Sunday is celebration day, the culmination of the weekend racing, the food and wine celebration, the fashion and fun for the whole family.classic and vintage car racing Entries are now open for all race categories at the second Highlands Festival of Speed, running 30 January to 1 February 2015 at Highlands Motorsport Park, Cromwell. At the inaugural Festival of Speed in April this year, we enjoyed incredible racing from two saloon, sports and GT categories the pre-1980 saloons we dub the Highlands nostalgic classics and the post tin-tops or Highlands modern classics as well as the Vintage Car Club open wheelers and historic Grand Prix cars. The decision to move the second edition of Highlands classic car and racing festival to the weekend of 30 January and 1 February 2015 means it coincides with other key events for likely participants such as the planned Southern Festival of Speed which takes in classic races at Christchurch s Mike Pero Motorsport Park, Timaru s Levels Raceway and Invercargill s Teretonga circuit. Highlands classic and retro vehicle show Last year s classic show attracted more than 100 vehicles which were hugely popular with event attendees. We re looking forward to seeing an even bigger and more interesting array of classic and retro cars, hot rods and motorcycles, caravans, vans and boats to be at Highlands at the end of January next year! Each display vehicle will receive one complimentary weekend pass to the event so it's well worth being a part of!
