You have certainly earned your right to be a part of this team and we are excited to have you. It is our hope that you accept this invitation to play with and against the best players in the state of Louisiana. The enclosed packet includes pertinent information that should be reviewed by not only you the athlete, but your parents/guardians and head coach as well. The all-star weekend is comprised of two games, one each on Friday, May 10 and Saturday, May 11 on the campus of University of Louisiana-Monroe in Monroe, Louisiana. The LHSCA requires all athletes to complete a participation form. The form is accessible on the All-Star Softball page of the LHSCA website ( If at any time you or your high school coach realize that you are not able to participate in the game, it is the coach s responsibility to notify the respective team coordinator, so that an alternate can be notified immediately. 3 PARTICIPATION OVERVIEW GENERAL INFORMATION All participating players must completely fill out and submit participation form by Wednesday, April 3, o Forms are on the LHSCA website HERE All-Star Weekend is Friday, May 10 and Saturday, May 11. Before committing to participating, please insure you do not have any conflict with the dates/schedule. Report Date: Friday, May 10 from 10:00 AM 11:00 AM at the University of Louisiana- Monroe Softball Complex (700 University Ave., Monroe, LA 71209). Complete schedule listed in subsequent pages. o Athlete must provide own transportation to and from Monroe. If an athlete drives herself, keys will be taken upon check-in. All players will ride the team bus the duration of the weekend. PARTICIPATION RULES All athletes must attend every practice session Only coaches and coordinators may grant exceptions on missing practice. Each player is to report for the game neat in appearance or they will not be allowed to participate. It is recommended that the girls do not bring expensive jewelry or other valuables. Meals and housing will be provided. Only bring enough money for extra spending. The LHSCA & LSCA will not be held responsible for any items lost or stolen. Do not leave the hotel for any reason. If you feel that you have an emergency, talk to your coach or coordinator. Do not enter the hotel lounge at any time. Any athlete breaking training rules, destroying property or failing to cooperate in every respect, may be dismissed from the team and sent home pending a hearing of the coaching staff. UNIFORMS The following items will be provided by the LHSCA & LSCA: o Uniform Jersey Top & Uniform Pants o Belts o Socks o Warm-up T-shirt & Shorts Athletes must bring the following items: o Practice Gear Shirts must have sleeves o Glove(s) and/or Mitts o Bat (optional) o Cleats o Helmet Should be school issued o Socks o Players need to bring a school uniform, which will be worn during Friday s game All-Star Softball Bulletin 2

Policy benefits are payable which are in excess of the amount collectible form all other insurance. This includes family coverage. All claims for injuries occurred during this week must be filed within 30 days of departure. If an athlete has had a serious injury or operation of any type within the past calendar year, please state this on your agreement form. The selection committee has the privilege of deciding whether or not you will be permitted to participate. It is your responsibility to report in excellent physical condition. ALL-STAR GAME RULES The format will be 2 games, each game being 7 full innings In Game 1, the starters will play innings 1 through 3. The non-starters will substitute in innings 4 and 5. Unlimited substitutions will occur in innings 6 and 7. Game 2 will follow the same format as Game 1, except the non-starters in Game 1 will become the starters in Game 2. Players playing in two games are guaranteed 5 innings of playing time. All others are only guaranteed 2 innings. No position is guaranteed. Players may be asked to play positions that they do not usually play. PARENTS The athletes belong to the team and the coaches once they check-in. They are not to leave for any reason until the game is over Saturday afternoon. You are welcome to attend practice this afternoon. Please allow the girls the privacy of their hotel rooms. When visiting with your daughter, do so in your room or the lobby area. Remember, that we have some of the best softball players in the state represented here. 5 AWARDS BANQUET Saturday, May 11, Family members, high school representatives and general public are invited to attend. Place: ULM Library 7 th Floor Terrace Monroe, Louisiana Time: 9:00 AM Ticket Price: $20 each Tickets must be purchased in advance. Tickets will not be sold at the door. Mail payment with enclosed order form on page 6 to the following: Checks for banquet are made payable to LSCA. It is mandatory that all players participating in the game Saturday attend the brunch. PICTURED PLACE MATS Pictured placemats will be made for table decorations.
