3 2. CONTEST RULES Art. 1: The Grand Prix Hemico is organized by: Wielerorganisatie Erwetegem. Art. 2: Art. 3: Art. 4: Art. 5: Art. 6: Art. 7: Art. 8: Art. 9: Art.10: Art.11: Art.12: Art.13: Art.14: Art.15: Art.16: Art.17: Art.18: The Grand Prix Hemico is a two-day contest, classified as DJ I.C Year of birth allowed to take the start: 2000, 1999 and Club teams will be allowed to participate only if they are registered in a timely and regular manner. The teams consist of a maximum of 6 and a minimum of 4 riders. The interclub contests of class 1.16 and 2.16 are in priority open to Belgian club teams, Belgian regional, provincial and national selections, and teams that are invited by the organizer. In principal a maximum of three foreign teams will be allowed. (See Art and Art of the UCI regulations). Mixed teams will be admitted (art ). The competition will be held under the rules and regulations of the ROYAL BELGIAN CYCLING Federation and is led by a college of Commissaires. The Belgian federation penalty scale applies. The participants and the allowed followers will obey all indications of police and officials immediately. All followers should possess an official follow evidence The order of the team cars is determined according to Art of the UCI regulations. The team leaders will strictly follow the planned derivation for the team cars. At registration, the team leader will be in possession of his license and those of his participating riders, as well as 36 entry fee (paid to the federation) and an account number where the organizing committee can deposit the prize money. The team leaders will receive at the briefing an envelope containing the car number, the follow evidence, frame numbers and 2 back numbers. The team leader/supervisor will be responsible for the numbers of the riders during the three days. An amount of 5 at loss will be charged to replace. Feeding along the way is only permitted in the zone provided for that purpose. Feeding from the car will be allowed according to the instructions of the Commissaires. Two neutral cars are provided by the Organization. Their place in the contest is designated by the Commissaires. The first 3 riders of each stage winners of the 4 jerseys are held to be present on the ceremony after every stage. Complaints about an event or a decision during the race are brought for the Jury. Complaints can be deposited at the latest 30 minutes after the arrival of the last rider or after end of the time control. The riders must go in person to verify for any medical check (anti-doping). On 5, 3 and 1 km. from the finish line signs will be posted to indicate the distance to the finish line. Results and rankings will be sent by mail or be available on the website of the Belgian Federation (KBWB/results). If teams prefer a result on paper, it can be requested during the technical briefing. 3

4 3. MEDICAL INFORMATION The medical treatments during the contest will be ensured by a medical team. There is one ambulance in the contest and there will be two nurses present in the neighborhood of the finish line. The hospital in case of accidents is: AZ ST.-ELISABETH GODVEERDEGEMSTRAAT Zottegem 09/ NEUTRAL CARS Two neutral cars will follow the contest and have spare material. Their place in the contest is designated by the Commissaires. 5. CLASSIFICATION In the Grand Prix Hemico there are five (5) Grand Prix classifications: a. General individual time classification (yellow Jersey) b. General individual mountains classification (polka dot Jersey) c. General individual young riders classification, year of birth 1999 (white Jersey) d. General individual young riders classification, year of birth 2000 (red Jersey) e. General team ranking 6. BONIFICATIONS For the yellow and white Jersey there are bonifications: a. Intermediate sprints: (end 3 th en 5 th lap) b. Finish: CEREMONIES a. The first 3 riders of each race and the leaders in the classifications will be present on the podium ceremony after every race. b. In case a rider is leading more than one classification, the respective leading jersey will be worn by the second in the concerned classification. c. All jerseys will take the start in the in front at the occasion of the following. The second day the winner of the TT will also start in front. 8. ARRIVALS & TIME RECORDING a. The arrivals are recorded by photo finish. Therefore, the riders are required a numbered tag, which they will receive from the organization. This tag will be attached to their bicycle frame. In the case of loss of the tag an amount of 5 will be charged for a new one. b. At the arrival of the stages only cars and motors with the badge (F) can cross the finish line. For the other cars and motors is a deviation is foreseen. 9. COSTS The team leaders or representatives from each participating club are responsible for paying their own costs. The Organization cannot be held liable for costs that are made outside their will. The Organization will also pay no travel costs or accommodation costs for the participating teams. 4

5 10. LIABILITY The organization cannot be held liable for any accident, loss, theft or any other disadvantage before, during and after the contest. By participation in the Grand Prix Hemico the riders, team leaders and followers recognize that they have become party to this information and accept it in its entirety. 11. COMPLAINTS Complaints need to be deposited within 30 minutes after arrival of the last rider JURSEYS a. GENERAL The leader of each classification is obliged to wear the leader's Jersey. The order of the jerseys is determined in Art of the UCI regulations b. YELLOW JERSEY See article of the UCI regulations. c. WHITE JERSEY For the best young rider classification, the calculation is identical as for the yellow Jersey, with the understanding that only first year juniors birth year 1999 qualify for this classification. d. RED JERSEY For the best young rider classification, the calculation is identical as for the yellow Jersey, with the understanding that only second year juvenile birth year 2000 qualify for this classification. e. POLKA DOT JERSEY Jersey for best climber 1) Points distribution: 1 st rider: 5 points 2 nd rider: 3 points 3 rd rider: 1 punt 2) In the event of ex-aquo in the mountains classification, the following criteria will be taken into account in order to separate the riders: I. the number of first places on the mountain traverses II. 6 14. TIME LIMIT a. Stages The time limit is 15% for all events. Riders, who are had to leave the contest on early police command, can possibly be ranked by the College of Commissaires. The Jury will determine the time of the ranking. For the time trial the time limit will be 80%. b. The 3-km rule See article of the UCI regulations 15.
