2 Event information for Kingston, Merton & Wandsworth, the world s greatest festival of cycling featuring the world s top riders and fun for all the family, returns for its fifth year to London and Surrey over the last weekend of July More than 100,000 cyclists will participate in six events taking place on closed roads in central London on Saturday 29 July and in London and Surrey on Sunday 30 July. was developed by the Mayor of London, Transport for London and London & Partners in partnership with Surrey County Council and is sponsored by Prudential. Events on Sunday 30 July -Surrey ,000 amateur cyclists will take on a 100- mile cycle challenge through the closed roads of London and Surrey, starting at Queen Elizabeth Olympic before finishing on The Mall. -Surrey 46 A 46-mile ride for 5,000 amateur cyclists within the existing 100-mile challenge created specifically for newer and younger riders, also starting at Queen Elizabeth Olympic and finishing on The Mall. -Surrey Classic The first British men s race ever to attain UCI WorldTour status and featuring the best male cyclists in the world. The race starts at Horse Guards Parade, St James s before heading into Surrey and returning to the capital to finish on The Mall. The event routes through Kingston, Merton and Wandsworth are on pages On Friday 28 July, the Prudential 2 It is Europe s most successful cycling fundraising event and riders have raised a total of more than 41 million for charity since the event was first staged in The event is managed by the London & Surrey Cycling Partnership with live coverage on BBC and worldwide. This booklet contains important information to help you plan your travel around Kingston, Merton and Wandsworth on Sunday 30 July. Other events RideLondon Grand Prix will see a series of BMX, handcycle and youth races take place at the Lee Valley Velo in Queen Elizabeth Olympic. There are no additional road closures for this event. On Saturday 29 July, the PrudentialRideLondon FreeCycle, Classique as part of the UCI Women s WorldTour and Brompton World Championship events take place in central London only (City of London and City of Westminster). These events are free to attend, include interactive Festival Zones, and provide exciting days out for all the family. For more information about the Prudential RideLondon festival weekend, visit PrudentialRideLondon.co.uk Road closures On Sunday 30 July, there will be an impact on traffic in large parts of London and across Surrey. Roads used by the event will be closed so you ll need to plan your travel in advance. Cyclists in the -Surrey 100, 46 and Classic events will pass through Kingston on the outbound route and through Kingston, Merton and Wandsworth on the inbound journey towards the finish.

4 Local information Key roads Businesses The A3 will be open, although the exit slips at Esher Common, Coombe Lane and Tibbet s Corner will be closed. Roads adjoining the event routes will have local access only for residents and businesses, with usual Sunday parking restrictions unless otherwise stated. For more information, visit lovewimbledon.org. Shops, restaurants and cafes in Kingston, Raynes, Wimbledon and Putney will be open for business as usual. River crossings A number of bridges in central London will be closed until the evening of Sunday 30 July. Kingston Bridge will be closed. Hammersmith Bridge will be open and Wandsworth Bridge will be open for local resident access only (no through route). Putney Bridge northbound remains open from Lower Richmond Road to Fulham High Street all day. Vehicles cannot be parked on the event route from 00:01 on Sunday 30 July. Any vehicle left on the route or parked in a suspended parking bay will be removed from the route. 4

5 Local information Public Transport Emergency services There will be some planned engineering works taking place on the Transport for London network on the event weekend. Due to event road closures, some bus services will need to be diverted temporarily, suspended or will terminate earlier than usual. Some stops may also be temporarily relocated. For more travel information about the whole weekend, please visit tfl.gov.uk/ ridelondon Emergencies will be treated as a priority in the usual way. If you require the emergency services, call 999. Emergency vehicle access will be maintained and prioritised throughout all of the Prudential RideLondon events. On the day There will be stewards and volunteers positioned along the route. If you require assistance on the day that is not a 999 emergency please ask event staff to help. Alternatively contact the helpdesk on Pedestrian crossing points Pedestrian crossing points are located along the event route. These will be under supervision to help pedestrians cross the road. Usual crossings may be suspended, but an alternative will be signposted where it will be easier to cross. Please be patient during the event and listen to instructions given by stewards. 5
