1 Vienna International White Water Crocodile Club 15 th June Name of the Club: VI White Water Crocodile Club The new 2015 June club to be founded will be called VI White Water Crocodile club and shorten into VI W2C2, and in the present document W2C2. 2. Aims and activities of the Club Aim The W2C2 will offer a window to the VIC people for: Kayak, White Water swimming, Rafting, Standing Up Paddle (SUP)... It aims at establishing partnerships with existing structures (Austrian based clubs or schools) and provides English speaking activities in the framework of open / white water. Background Most of these activities require a reasonable infrastructure such as the availability of the equipment, instructor / guides, knowledge of the river(s) and therefore will have to be well prepared. There are in Vienna several structures that offer membership but with german and yearly commitment fees. The purpose of the W2C2 is to provide: a) A window to access some white water activities for VIC staff, b) Within English/ French speaking logistic, c) That enables the club members to access various white water activities based on a progressive and flexible approach, with a minimum but certain commitment. 1 P age

2 Activities: 2 1 Kayac activities may be offered, for the first year via collaboration with Viennese based infrastructures namely: kayak Academy, Edelweiss, Union Kanu Klub, Kayak Austria 2 2 Rafting activities may be organized with the Vienna Watersports Arena under certain condition for certain dates, in English. 2 3 White Water Swimming (Hydrospeed / Riverboarding), canoe, will be later organized based on the supporting structure (instructor) availability 2 4 SUP rental, outing may be consisting in simple rental of the equipment at a preferential price, but could also be W2C2 group outing. No fixed class is planned for the moment, as this is more a leisure activity but it provides good physical training for open / white water activities. 2 5 Canoe activities will develop upon the expression of the needs from the W2C2 members during the first year of the club existence, 2015 MEMBERSHIP & PROGRAM 1) Fees for July June 2016 : - 12 Euro for VIC staff members, - 18 Euro for non VIC based staff, - 20 Euro for family. Note : There will be for the first year no Member ship cards handed over just a centralized web accessible file for the Club officers. This will also be reflected under Facebook group. 2 P age

3 2) Summer 2015 Programme In order to start its establishment the W2C2 club will propose the following summer activities to run tentatively as of 1 st July 2015 till 30st September 2015: a. Weekly Kayac beginner Course ( 4 courses block) Held every Tuesday from 30th June ( tentative/ trial) h00 19h00 Held in English Consist four sessions of 1h30 divided as follow: o 3 basic training ( Area from Steinspornbrucke) o 1 training in white water (Arena, Brigittenau or Klosterneuburg ) The aim of the 4 class block is to provide basic paddling knowledge, and raise taste of the trainees for more advanced courses. (Depending on the trainee s level the content of the course may be adjusted.) Price: for the 4 courses block 60 Euros: including all equipment to be provided by Kayakacademy. Trainees have to be at the Robson shop at 17h00 to prepare their gears and are responsible for collecting and storing the equipment as per the instructions. The 4 classes may not be taken in a consecutive manner but should be taken before the end of the summer 2015 season. If less than three trainees the Tuesday Course may be cancelled. Pre Registration for attending the next Tuesday to be done on the Monday before 13h00 at Stephanie / Annemarie with 10 Euro deposit that are reimbursed if the class is attended. b. Equipment rental for Kayac & SUP May be obtained with reduced price from the Vienna Watersports Arena structure (WVA) for W2C2 Club members ( available after registration) W2C2 membership shall be proven at rental desk. (List will be provided by Stephanie VWA every time it is amended). c. Rafting The artificial arena offers regular time and dates for rafting activities; the W2C2 would propose to have a raft in English upon availability and with a minimum of 6 club members. Evening raft may also be proposed. 3 P age

4 d. Two days crash course, Minimum of 5 people from W2C2 Equivalent of beginners course May be organized/ proposed by Kayak Academy, or Edelweiss or UKK during the summer and early fall season. Based on the demand we could always see if there is already this summer need to technique training etc. e. BBQ / dinners Would be organized every third Tuesday, if weather and attendance permits. g. Winter program For the first winter will first consist in attending indoor roll training (indoor swimming pool) with one of the existing Kayak club (TBD).
