6 FYI: FEEDING BIRDS On several occasions, there have been full loaves of Artisan bread and regular bread dumped in the Reserve. One resident was kind enough to properly dispose of the stale bread before wildlife could consume it. According to the Humane Society, bread serves no nutritional value for birds. Moldy bread can harm them. Baby birds will more likely end up malnourished without the proper plant nutrients they need to grow. This can cause waterfowl to develop a condition known as angel wing, an incurable wing deformity which usually renders them flightless. If you feel the need to feed the birds, other than birdseed, PLAIN popcorn is perfectly acceptable although the Humane Society discourages it. Birdseed is best. AS THEY COME HOME By Roger Robicheau 2018 In Vietnam, they served for us Upon return, unseen solace As they came home, their welcome hid How could this be, for all they did Such pain was felt, away from war It came right here, within their shore Full thankfulness, could have been shown But anger ruled, how it had grown. Yet those who dodged, were pardoned all Unlike our troops, many did fall. For those who died, so many cried A loved one s loss, can never hide. The brave ones then, support those now Great Americans, understanding how! Do pray to God, from this day forth For those who stand, between each Fourth This country stays because of them This fact adhere cast off mayhem. Someone photo bombed, silly girl. Don t miss out on the fun. Roll on over to the clubhouse, there's no time to spare. We're having a Wii Bowling Tournament--and we want you there! Get your bowling arm ready, it's time to come and play! Now don't forget to bring your beverage and snacks.
