This fall will be full of fun at the Senior Center with exciting shows, lunch trips, and enjoying the holidays your friends at the Senior Center. The center has added some new programs to keep things new and fresh. Join us this fall at our new Singles Scene. Come and meet other senior singles looking for companionship. Ask a staff member for more info. Always wanted to learn martial arts? Well you are in for a treat. Starting in October the Senior Center will now be offering Tai Chi. Tai Chi is a joint friendly, and meditative form of Martial Arts. We are always improving and adding innovative activities to keep your interest.let us know what you want to see! DATE: October 14 TIME: 11 AM 1940 s Air Museum Hobby Airport The 1940 Air Terminal Museum is a museum located in Houston, Texas, United States at William P. Hobby Airport. Collections are housed in the original art deco building which served as the first terminal for passenger flight in Houston. A Prime Evening of entertainment and a theatrical triumph... one of the jolliest treats of the season. DATE: November 6 TIME: 7:00 PM COST: TBA Quilt Festival-George R Brown It s that time again! We are going to the much anticipated quilt festival. Wear your watch and your walking shoes. You will need to purchase your own ticket either at the door or in advance. This trip is not chaperoned; you will be dropped off and picked up. Minimum of 8 DATE: November 5 TIME: 9:30 AM COST: $4.00 Plus Ticket Hooray for the Holidays The holiday season is here. Do you usually only celebrate with your family? Well, not anymore! Celebrate the season with your friends at the Senior Center. We will be cooking up some holiday favorites for everyone to enjoy. All you need to do is bring your holiday spirit and one dessert to share with your friends. This is your chance to share your favorite holiday dessert with your friends. 5 More Events in November 9 to 5 The Musical Hobby Center With music and lyrics by Dolly Parton, this musical tells the story of three unlikely friends who conspire to take control of their company and learn there s nothing they can t do even in a man s world. Outrageous, thought-provoking and even a little romantic, it s about teaming up and taking care of business about getting credit and getting even! DATE: November 11 TIME: COST: 9:00 AM FREE The Great Storm-Galveston On September 8, 1900, a hurricane struck Galveston. Winds estimated at 140 miles per hour swept through the city and left devastation in their wake. The 1900 Storm is still considered the deadliest natural disaster in United States history. Join us to visit the Great Storm Theater in Galveston to see a phenomenal film depicting the storms greatness. We will also look around at the exhibits.
