1 Seniors on the Go ALVIN PARKS AND RECREATION COMMENTS FROM THE COORDINATOR - SHERRY WOLFE At the end of every year I think it is great to look back at all of the wonderful things that year held. For most of us the memory of hurricane Ike is still fresh on our minds but if we really think about it 2008 was so much more then that horrible storm. As we head into 2009 lets first remember the fun times we had in 2008! This year the Senior Center welcomed Joan Pagan as our newest family member. She has already proven to be such an asset and positive addition to the team. Her upbeat personality is sure to brighten anyone's day! Chocluck Do you love chocolate? Do you think you make the best Chocolate dessert around? Join us for our first annual Chocluck. Come indulge your sweet tooth, ruin your lunch appetite and have some chocolate with us! Chocluck is free to attend just whip up your favorite chocolate treat and bring it for all to share! DATE: December 9 TIME: 11:00 am COST: Bring on the Chocolate! In addition to new staff members we also learned new tricks. Everyone learned how to hula dance at our First Ever Luau. Cathy Hollis was crowned Ms. Alvin Senior and went on to the Ms. Texas Senior Pageant to win the crown. She then brought her talent to the Senior Center and taught us the art of cake decorating. With all of the excitement and fun that we had at the Center this year I m sure that the future only holds great things. Check back next quarter to see all of the new adventures available for you in 2009!
