1 SWMS Spartan News Follow on South Warren Middle School is dedicated to providing a rigorous and supportive learning environment to ensure 21 st century learning for all students. March 26, 2016 NEWS & NOTES: 3RD QUARTER GRADES: 3 rd Quarter report cards are now available in Infinite Campus. As always, please contact our Guidance Department if you would like to request a hard copy of those grades. MONITORING PROGRESS IN INFINITE CAMPUS: It s important to check Infinite Campus regularly to monitor progress and the completion of informal learning checks. This progress will allow you to see how your child is doing as they work towards mastery of learning standards. 8 TH GRADE T-SHIRT DESIGN: Each year, our PTSO purchases a class t-shirt for all 8 th grade students. The t-shirt design comes from renderings submitted by our own 8 th grade students. Any 8 th grade student that is interested in designing this year s class t- shirt can do so now! Here are the details of this opportunity: Limit to 2 colors Put on an 8 ½ x 11 piece of paper It can be front & back Submissions are due April 6 Sponsored by the SWMS PTSO ( swmiddleptso@gmail.com ) OUT-OF-DISTRICT FOR NEXT YEAR: The window to apply for out-of-district next year will open on April 1. Like last year, there is an online application that must be completed. Here are a few additional notes about applying out-of-district at SWMS: Once available on April 1, follow the links on the district website to apply online. Students must re-apply each year. Additional documentation regarding attendance, grades, and behavior must be turned in to the SWMS office. Without this information, a child will not be considered. Decisions will be made near the end of May. Note: Schools can only accept a limited number of out-of-district students each year (per district policy). Also, staffing allocations at each school factor into that decision-making. Reduced staffing allocations could lead to further restrictions in order to keep class sizes manageable.
