2 Page 2 August 2014 Greetings from your Chamber President August is among us and so is our 31st year of Lakefront Days! Lakefront Days is the biggest community event for Prior Lake residents, and helps create our small town charm and community spirit. Many people volunteer and put in many hours to make this a very special weekend for Prior Lake so come help us celebrate this wonderful community event! We also need to congratulate the Prior Lake Rotary for such a fine event they put on a couple of weeks ago. It was great to see so many people attending that event. Also, coming up is SMSC Annual Wacipi, being held on August If you have not taken the opportunity to attend this fine event, please do so this year, you will truly enjoy it. Our July membership meeting was held at McKenna Crossing, where we had everyone stand up and do a minute commercial about their business! This is a great event for networking, and thank you to all of our members that attended and to McKenna Crossing for the wonderful lunch they provided. Upcoming events include: Let s Rumble- Guys Night Out on August 1 at Prior Lake VFW and of course Lakefront Days which is August 7-9, Fall Community Fest (September 15th), and our Young Professionals have started again with a new name of 426 Young Professionals, they will start meeting from 4 pm to 6 pm and have a expert in a round top feel come and talk to the group. Everyone is invited to attend this event. New this year is Scott County Small Business Expo and Business After Hours Event on October 15 from 4:30 to 6pm at Canterbury Park. This is a joint venture with Savage and Shakopee Chambers. Gary Meyer, President In closing for this month s newsletter, as in previous months, I will ask each of you are you getting the most out of the Prior Lake Chamber? If not, are you putting the most into it? Become active and SPONSOR of one our numerous events and get your business name recognized. If you can t become a sponsor, become a VOLUNTEER and make yourself present at one or more of the events and meet people, talk to them, let them get to know you and they will eventually become one of your clients.
