5 A great big THANK YOU to all the students that brought baked goods to the Prism Concert on Thursday night. It was a huge success! We made over $1200 that night!! WOW! Thank you to all of the students and parents that helped set up before the concert and sell items afterwards. It was wonderful to see everyone work together to make it a success. If you have not put your name on the sign up sheet on the website, please do so as soon as possible. That is the only way to credit students for their participation. Don t worry about the price range, just make sure your student s name is on one of the sheets so we can credit the account. We were also lucky enough to sell the remainder baked good on Saturday at the Monte Vista Mercado and made over $200. Thanks to the volunteers that helped with that event (Nora Aragon-Gallegos, Dovya Friedman, and Mary Favero). We want to give a shout-out to Tortuga Gallery (and Janet Harmon for setting up the opportunity) for allowing us to sell baked goods during their gallery opening this weekend as well. If you haven t had the chance, check out an art show at the gallery. It is located at 901 Edith Blvd SE. Thanks to Janet Harmon, Silvia Avalos, Gwendy Brawley, Kimberly Brawley, and Kaia Bigej-Nunley. Wreaths should be arriving this week. As soon as we have a definite date, we will send out a notice to let students know when to pick them up. They will need to be picked up from the Fox s house. Candle orders have been submitted. As soon as we have a delivery date, we will let you know! Keep your eyes on your for important delivery information. If you have any pistachio order forms out still, please send them in to school by Tuesday so we can get them ordered!! You can a copy of the form to the band . Don t forget to promote our HoneyBaked Ham fundraiser! Students get the full 20% earned on card sales. Get creative on promoting these cards! Have any good fundraising ideas? Want to help organizes fundraisers? Contact Michelle Fox at ahsnews@gmail.com or Shop on Amazon? Use Amazon Smiles when you shop and they will donate to the band. Just select Albuquerque High School Bulldog Band Boosters as the organization and then shop as you would normally. Every little bit helps.
6 Calling all Photographers Do you have pictures from this year? Well, we are looking for all of your photographs! At the end of the year performance, we show a photo montage and would love to include your photos. Here is how you can get them to us: Login to Snapfish.com ID: ahsbandnews@gmail.com Password: Bedtime17 Look for a folder that already represents your pictures (March-a-thon, Summer Band, Football games, etc.) Don t see the right folder? Just start one and then everyone can add pictures to it too! Add the pictures shortly after the event, if possible, since we work on the slideshow all year long. It can be done in one night, but then we are REALLY tired!! Band Assessment Costs (or BACs for short) We now have another option to pay your BACs. At any event where we are selling items, you are welcome to use your credit card to pay your student s BAC. We now use Square to process credit card payments. Please be aware that there is an additional cost of 2.5% added to your payment to cover the fee that Square charges the account. We are always looking for easier ways for families to pay their BACs and wanted to be sure you were aware of this option. Dee and Peter Burton (pokadotdee@msn.com) work hard to ensure that the BACs are correct, but please don t hesitate to ask if you have any questions. Do you have any questions? Trouble uploading pictures? Just sent us a message to the band . PAYPAL Are you paying your BACs through PayPal? If so, we need your help. When you make a payment, please put your student s name and what the money is for in the comment section. This helps us accurately credit your account. Another thing to keep in mind when paying via PayPal is that PayPal charges 2.5% of the total that you send to the band. So, if you send $100 to the band, we only receive $97.50 and that is what we are going to credit to your account. Please keep this in mind when using PayPal. If you have made a payment this way, and it has not shown up on your BAC, please ahsbandnews@gmail.com.
7 Student Entrepreneurs Kenna McNeil Kenna is selling delicious pies of various flavors (pumpkin, apple, pecan, lemon meringue, and others) for the holidays. They are delicious!! They sell for $15 each and she is taking orders. If you are interested in purchasing one (or three) just the band newsletter. Kaia Begij-Nunley Kaia has beautiful oreo truffles for sale. They are $8 per box or two boxes for $15. If you didn t see them at the Prism bake sale, you missed seeing how beautiful (and tasty) they are. Contact her through the band . Order yours through the band . We have several students that are paying their way to Chicago by selling food items. I have tried items from all three girls, and their stuff is delicious! I will be buying more items from each of them for the holidays. If you are interested in purchasing from them, please contact me at the band and I will pass their contact information on to them. If you are a student that wants to sell food items, contact me at the band and give me details on you product and pricing and I will include you in next week s newsletter. Thanks! THANK YOU Cammie Nichols for manning the BAC box at the Prism concert and The Jazz Band Concert.
