1 We invite you to our annual K-M Early Bird Cheer Competition! When: Sunday, October 25, 2015 (Competition begins at 11:00am) Where: Kasson-Mantorville High School North Gym th St NE Kasson, MN Cost: $16/participant (cheer competition), $5/participant (stunt group competition) About Registration will begin at 7:30am with marking times beginning at 8:30am. All teams must have a signed parental consent form in for each participant. High school routines may be 2 ½ minutes long, with dance portion not to exceed 1 ½ minutes (All Star teams have 2 ½ minutes for routine). All routines will be performed on a STANDARD 9 STRIP CHEER MAT. There will be a DJ and sound system available with CD availability for competition, if you are bringing a portable music device please also bring your power cord for download DJ purposes. The DJ has also requested a digital mp3 be ed ahead of time. See the packet for more information. Competition rules will follow the American Association of Cheerleading Coaches and Advisors (AACA) for high school and USASF for All-Star teams. The standard high school UCA score sheet will be used for the high school divisions. The standard All-Star UCA score sheet will be used for All-Star divisions. We will be using MCCA Division guidelines. Exceptions to these rules at the Kasson-Mantorville Cheer Competition will be hair, nails, jewelry, and glitter. Cheerleaders will have to follow these rules, which will be checked prior to competition. Hair: not a distraction, safe manner, may be half-up. Nails: Must not be able to view nails past fingertips. No acrylic nails; no nail polish. Jewelry: No jewelry, including earrings, facial piercings, bellybutton piercings, nose piercings, body piercings, or tongue piercing. Glitter: NO glitter is acceptable, shimmer is fine, but if there are pieces of glitter that may fall off, it is a violation. We will have a trainer on site throughout the day. Lib-off/Extension-off/Jump-off Registration for the lib-off, extension-off, and jump off will be available at check-in. Each team may enter up to 3 cheerleaders/groups. Medals will be awarded to the winners in each group. Jump off divisions: Elementary, Jr. High & JV, and Varsity. There will be 2 divisions for the lib-off (1) Jr.High/JV, (2) Varsity. There will be 2 divisions for extension-off divisions: (1) Elementary (2) Jr. High/JV. Please send all registration items to: Awards will be given to all teams that participate. 5 Parental Consent/Liability Form My son/daughter has my permission to participate in the 2015 K-M Early Bird Competition. As a condition for my son s/daughter s participating, I agree to release Kasson-Mantorville High School, and/or any of its employees/representatives from any responsibility for personal injury, theft and/or damages to my property that may occur as a result of participation in this competition. 6 DJ Options! Our DJ has requested that digital copies of your music and your team bio sheet be sent ahead of time. You may also bring a CD. Music and bio sheets are due October 1, To send a digital copy ahead of your music, follow the instructions below for the situation that best describes you. If your music is currently only on a disc: 1. You will need to import your music into itunes: a. Open itunes (if you do not have itunes, download it for free here). b. Insert your CD into your computer. itunes will begin to identify your CD. A pop-up will appear asking you to import your CD. c. Click Yes. The import will begin. d. Eject the disc when the import is complete. 2. From your itunes library, select your song. 3. Right-click on the selected song. 4. Select Get Info from the pop-up menu. A pop-up will appear. In the bottom section, it will list your music file location. At the end of the location will be a file extension (either.mp3 or.m4a). 5. Confirm that your file extension is.mp3. If it is not, do the following: a. Right click on the selected song. b. Select Create mp3 version from the pop-up menu. A new.mp3 version will be created in your itunes library. 6. Repeat steps 2-5 this for as many songs as necessary. 7. When finished, select your mp3 files from the library and drag them to your desktop. 8. Open your and compose a new message to Dyana Miller at wickeddjdy@gmail.com. 9. Attach your music using your attachment function. Note: Depending on your file size, you may need to send your music pieces one at a time. 10. Send your . If your music is already a digital copy: 1. Ensure that it is an mp3 format.
