Habitudes for athletes is a unique leadership training system specifically designed to prepare student-athletes for excellence in both their sport and life. Developed by Dr. Tim Elmore I. The Art of Self-Leadership II. The Art of Teamwork and Connecting with Teammates III. The Art of Leading Others and Changing Team Culture IV. The Art of Navigating Transitions Habitudes: Transform individual athletes into a unified force Create student-athletes who trust each other and their coaches Create a language to talk about real life issues in a safe way Build teams where every athlete thinks and acts like a leader.

CHS Volleyball 2016 Mission Statement Motto: All in - All the time Created by our sophomore, junior and senior players We the student-athletes of CHS Volleyball are committed to becoming one of the top volleyball programs in District 13-5A for the 2016 season. We will accomplish this thru hard-work on the court and in the classroom. We will leave a legacy of being a closeknit team that never gives up, while displaying good sportsmanship at all times!

Why athletes with average talent succeed: Work Hard Coachable Practice Hard Do all the little things well Value their roles
Why talented athletes fail: 1. Don t work hard 2. Uncoachable 3. Listen to & have the wrong people in their circle 4. Selfish
Please remember: These are kids. This is a game. Parents should cheer for everyone. Referees are Human. No College scholarships will be handed out today.
PROGRAM STANDARDS Be on time ready to get after it.. 15 minutes before start time (court set up, equipment out, training room) Own it Hard work pays off Be positive bring it to the table Be self-disciplined embrace personal responsibility Have a ton of fun

SEASON EXPECTATIONS 4 teams and anyone can climb the ladder Lots of physical talent in this gym how mental will you be First cut on August 3rd, final cut on August 5th after scrimmages All home matches will start at 5:30 Practice and match schedule on website. You and your daughter are in charge of the communication on any changes.

PRACTICE SCHEDULE See website for practice times. Google Calendar For the younger ones, you are their ride. Please have them here and READY TO GO 15 minutes prior to start time. We expect a call or prior to practice if our kiddo will be late or absent Miss a practice Be prepared to sit during the match and do a make up practice outside of normal practice time. Practice schedules are always subject to change. Your TITAN will communicate with you about any changes. Saturday practice is not when it works for you. Please make arrangements to leave town after we are done. org/document/d/1sntevtnf5cwv6aina1s_mlhlerlch9kcudshbdvqu84/edit?usp=sharing

GAME DAYS We will support every TEAM during all matches We ride the bus to and from all competitions as a TEAM We will sit together as a TEAM at all matches and cheer for our teammates We are a TEAM and don t need extra fans to help us (boys are the specific here)

GAME SCHEDULE Will play in 2 gyms each night Tuesdays 5:30 JV/9A, 6:15 V/9B Fridays 5:30 V/9B, 6:15 JV/9A Miss a game make up involved and will not play until make-up is completed Game directions can be found on the website, however, if you have a better way, get after it
TUTORIALS All girls will attend tutorials in the afternoon Will not miss practice to go to morning tutorials There will be a plethora of teachers to help Athletes may attend another teacher s tutorials who teach the same class

PARENT EXPECTATIONS (AS STATED IN PARENT CONTRACT) Cheer for ALL Titans, not just your Titan Golden Rule Do unto others. Don t allow drama at home involving other kiddos and don t bring it yourself your kiddo will play some and sit some What your momma always said If you can t say something nice in the stands, don t say anything because what you say is usually overheard by others If the linesperson calls it out, IT S OUT. If you want to call lines, I can make that available to you. If an official makes what you feel is a questionable call, do not talk to them about it. I have been in this business for 33 years and have yet to see a scream from the stands change a call for the positive. If you want to ref, I can send you the info but you will never be at the same gym as your daughter..

PARENT EXPECTATIONS CON T If the score is wrong, the table will fix it ASAP. They do NOT need your help. If you want to work the table, I can make that available to you. We are not absent or tardy. End of story. Consequences will follow. Please do not approach a coach after a match Rude and unprofessional s will not be responded to. be nice We will not discuss team placement, playing time or other athletes. My staff and I promise not to come to your place of business and tell you how to do things, so please do not walk into this gym and tell us how to run this program.

PARENT EXPECTATIONS CON T It is not always a great day in practice your kiddo won t always come home happy if you want the other side of the story, give us a call. If we think something is important enough, don t worry we will call you No notes, your kiddo and I will converse about any situation we need to. She will hear the same thing every day: get dressed and do what you can do. We will all be surprised at what will happen. They will actually begin to understand their body. They are allowed to step off and get back in the drill when ready. Bottom line if the coach is not upset you don t need to be. Just enjoy watching our TITANS play!!

And, of course, don t be sparing with those magic words: "I love watching you play."
INJURY Keep us informed SEE OUR TRAINERS FIRST!! WE want to evaluate our kiddos No parent notes, our trainers will decide when our kiddos return to the court Our trainers are aggressive in their treatment Jennifer Lamabe is our witch doctor
CODE OF CONDUCT/DRUG TESTING If we hear about it, we chase it. We will chat with your kiddo. You will be our first call. Rules and regulations are included. Random drug testing is just that. 6 times a year. Any school day of the week. The athlete is just that 24/7/365, the summer is not a break from doing the right thing. Process explanation

FACEBOOK/TWITTER/INSTAGRAM ETC This is a serious situation. Need you to monitor your kiddos sites. Inappropriate content on these sites can have negative consequences both now and in the future school, college, job yuri-wright-twitter-posts-cost-collegescholarship

The 5 Signs of a Nightmare Parent 1. Overemphasizing sports at the expense of sportsmanship 2. Having differing goals than your child 3. Treating your child differently after a loss than a win 4. Undermining the coach (i.e. sideline coaching) 5. Living your own athletic dream through your child

The 5 Signs of an Ideal Sports Parent 1. Cheer for everybody on the team, not just your child 2. Model appropriate behavior 3. Know what is suitable to discuss with the coach (mental and physical treatment of your child and how to improve are in, but taboo topics include playing time, team strategy and discussing team members other than your child). 4. Know your role (player play, coaches coach and parents cheer appropriately remember you are at a kids sporting event, not a professional game with paid adults) 5. Be a good listener and a great encourager
