Please review document and bring concerns to June 17 meeting Who counts as an implementing partner? Neighborhood associations should pick a point person to report back on priorities Come up with areas of focus (top 3) Grow Green is nowhere in the document WFM is nowhere in the document and would like to be under youth and wellness categories Sector 4 CDC would like to be an implementing partner in everything related to business and economic development NeighborWorks Rochester would like to be an implementing partner in any and all neighborhood revitalization efforts Budget is an issue Document is a living document, meant as an outline, open to neighborhood interpretation and implementation 7:00 PM NEIGHBORHOOD and BUSINESS ASSOCIATION UPDATES

3 Changing of the Scenes (COTS)/Anthony Square/Adams St. Block Club Lynnette Robinson Most recent neighborhood meeting had 20 people in attendance Rock garden being designed on Troup and Clifton Reclaiming green space on Troup as family friendly Some car break-ins Neighborhood United (NU) Paul Jones Bulls Head meeting in June Police precinct working on traffic issues Bill Washington had walking pneumonia and is home and currently resting 19 th Ward Community Association JB Afoh-Manin Square Fair coming up- June 5 th 2 nd Annual 5k Run/Walk on June 4 th Start at Staybridge Spelling Bee Test Run in late April at School #16 Students were enthused Trying to promote academic excellence Mentor program to help kids start this fall Next bee will be held at UR Creating World Café Model to have open and honest conversations about what is going on in the neighborhood Holding ourselves accountable 19 th Ward Citizen/Merchant of the Year Awards were held last Saturday at Unity Citizen of the Year: Emma Joyner Merchant of the Year: Staybridge Hotel

4 Plymouth Exchange Neighborhood Association (PLEX) John Curran Received $2000 grant to start charrette process Area by the river is a brownfield, goal is to figure out what PLEX wants for the area and how much cleaning up of the area is necessary to make that possible Looking at Wellsville PA to see what they did in terms of waterfront/brownfield development Rail to trail project creating a pedestrian bridge where the old railroad bridge is located Resuming riverfront tours SW Steering Committee s official status Brownfield Opportunity Area will have a committee could it just be the SW Steering Committee? SW Steering Committee is not city endorsed or chosen SW Steering Committee has been endorsed by Council Contact John Southwest Area Neighborhood Association (SWAN)(JABA) Frances Johnson Staff is in training for summer camp JABA- SW Annual Fest Sept am-7pm National Night Out is August 3 rd (Public Safety Updates) Getting involved with Next Step - helping youth getting out of Industry DHS hired 12 people to serve as community health advocates Grow Green was granted an Urban Fellow and they will be used to make rain barrels 22 Urban Fellows received a tour of the SW by John Borek Other folks got a tour by John Curran Working to have a Sector 4 newsletter/calendar so we can support each other s events UR Updates no updates

5 Dana Miller City Councilperson Budget meeting in June, will be televised City budget is available to download from city website NeighborWorks Rochester Jackie Woodward Our 2 nd annual fundraiser, the Pix and Mix is at the Public Market on Wed. June 9 th 4-7pm Tickets are $5 in advance and $10 at the door There will be live music, food, photographs for sale 7:20 PM COMMITTEE REPORTS Arts and Culture John Borek Paid community representation request on Brooks Landing Phase II Arts and Historic Business and Economics John DeMott View sheet. Communications Eleanor Coleman COTS, NU, PLEX groups need to send a rep to Sector 4 CDC SW Community Roundtable 4 th Thursday at 10:30am School #29 Health/Housing & Human Services WFM updates Jackie Woodward WFM still trying to change to prepared food service rules with the county health department Current fee for a 14 day permit is $115 which would bring market season fees to over $1000 Working to make it a one-time fee Market opens at St. Monica s parking lot on June 22 at 4 pm Public Safety A string of daytime robberies have occurred on Genesee St. Youth & Recreation/Youth Services Flint St. gearing up for summer programs
