LACROSSE- : Central Middle School Auxiliary Gym TIME 6:15-7:45pm We will be holding a Try Lacrosse event on February 17 th from 5:30-6:30 pm at Northside Middle School Gym 2. This is geared toward youth players 3rd-8 th grades. Players will be given a chance to get a stick in their hands and learn the fundamentals of the game. I have attached a flyer. Team Adventure teachers are coaching but the teams are open to all students. The topic this year is "Hoosier Heritage." There are four teams: social studies, science, math and English. Each team practices once a week February through April. Encourage students who might be interested to sign up by Wednesday of next week. The initial process in becoming a student in high school is the selection of freshman courses. We feel it is very important that students make quality course selections to obtain a strong foundation for the rest of their high school careers. The scheduling process is a new experience for the incoming freshmen and for some of their parents. The high schools, therefore, are planning an eighth grade parent and student orientation. 7 Columbus North High School Thursday, February 11, 2016 Judson Erne Auditorium 6:30 p.m. General Presentation 7:00 p.m. Table Talk Faculty will be available to answer questions. Tours of North High School High school counselors will be going to each middle school for the actual enrollment of the students. On the first day counselors will present the curriculum at each school. Students will be asked to discuss this information with their parents. On the second day the counselors will collect the Course Selection Sheets that will indicate what courses the family has chosen. Families who have turned in their transfer form to the high school will attend the session with the school to which they are transferring. Columbus Signature Academy will conduct the lottery for open spots on Monday, February 8, Students invited through the lottery must return their intent to attend form by Friday, February 12, All other students will attend the sessions with the school district in which they live.
