This instructional program will stress the most basic skills of throwing, catching, hitting and running bases. Parents are strongly encouraged to attend. 2 Youth Programs BASEBALL/SOFTBALL 9-11 YRS The Baseball/Softball program is an instructional program for boys and girls 9-11 years old who are progressing from softpitch, as well as players not ready for live pitch baseball. Age determined as of July 31. This division uses a pitching machine to help kids make the transition to baseball and softball. Using a pitching machine, the emphasis will be placed on participation and fun while focusing on skill development. Practices will be once or twice per week in the evenings. The season is based on a seven-game schedule with every effort to make up cancellations. Location: Local parks and schools. Game Dates: June 20-July 29; Weekday evenings Coaches meeting: Tuesday, June 7, 6PM REGISTRATION DEADLINE: nesday, May 25. A $10 late fee will be charged to anyone who signs up after the registration deadline. SOFTPITCH 7-8 YRS Softpitch is designed as a co-ed introductory league for those using a pitching machine. The ball will travel slower to allow for more success. A great way to introduce your child into the sport! Practice will be held once or twice per week in the evenings. The season is based on a seven game schedule with every effort to make up cancellations. Age determined as of July 31. Location: Local parks and schools. Practices will be twice per week, games on Saturdays. Age/division determined by the chart below. Shin guards are required. REGISTRATION DEADLINE: nesday, August 3 or when full. The introductory camp is a great way for a beginner to experience the sport without a huge investment for equipment. No previous experience is necessary.
