During this energetic workshop, dancers will develop strong ballet technique, work on upper body style, and gain strength and flexibility. Each day, dancers will take classes in classical ballet, lyrical, contemporary, and modern, all while learning dance composition and terminology. Dancers will be divided into three-four age/ability levels. If your goal is to step up to the next level as a dancer, become a stronger technician or just love ballet...this is a week you will not want to miss! The Ballet Intensive adds a second week to the I Love Ballet Camp, where our dedicated ballet students will explore partnering, repertoire, and more advanced ballet and pointe technique. Additionally, we will work to strengthen the core stomach and back muscles, while lengthening the hips and leg muscles increasing both flexibility and strength. This is a fundamental dance class recommended for all dancers! Our staff is currently participating in certification training in the following genres: Integrative Dance Class This program will be bring the world of dance to children of all ages and spectrum of disabilities, including Autism & Down Syndrome. Early Childhood Development Dance Class These classes will be for Moms and their babies (0-5 years old) to foster critical development. Research shows that dance and music activities offered in a loving, safe, multi-sensory environment enhance life long learning and neural development. Page 9

10 V D P C o m p e t i t i o n T e a m Au d i t i o n Wo r k s h o p s Victoria Dance Productions is the proud home of the nationally renowned VDP Competition Teams! Our competition teams of all ages (4-18) compete at 4 regional competitions each spring, and at nationals every other summer. Students interested in auditioning for positions on the Victoria Dance Productions Advanced and Intermediate Level Competition Teams must attend one of the summer audition workshops described below. Students not attending an audition workshop WILL NOT be considered for a competition teams. Dancers must meet age criteria as of March 1, For example, if your birthday is February 25, 2004, please register for the 14-year-old workshop. If your birthday is April 25, 2004, your dancer would attend the 13-year-old workshop. V D P C O M P E T I T I O N T E A M S Y e a r O l d s This 6-day session is for dancers ages 7 and up (as of March 1, 2018) who want to be considered for our Competition Teams. These teams dance 2-3 days per week (depending on the dancers age) and compete at 4 regional competitions each spring and nationals every other summer is a Nationals year. During this audition workshop students will work on various combinations, routines, leaps, turns, strength and conditioning, and basic technique in ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, and/or hip hop, depending on the age of the dancer. Dancers must attend 3 of the 5 days including audition day. Keep in mind, auditions will include material from EVERY day of the workshop. On the final day of the workshop, dancers will audition routines taught during this session for a panel of 7 or more judges. Team members will be selected from these candidates based on technique, style, timing, performance personality, classroom attitude, attendance, and teacher recommendations. All class times will vary slightly on audition day, August 2nd. Based on the dancer s audition workshop results, each dancer will be placed in one of three class levels: - Advanced Level Competition Team (i.e. Star Steppers, Star Makers, Company, etc.) - Intermediate Level Competition Team (i.e. Dazzle Stars, Glam Stars, etc.) - Division A Class To develop more technical skills in order to compete in the future When registering, be sure to indicate if you are registering for the Advanced Level, the Intermediate Level (slightly less time and financial commitment) or either one. **Remember all current team members must take at least one ballet technique class/camp this summer in order to audition.** July 25, 26, 27, 31, Aug 1, 2 9:00-12:00 Ages: 7 & Up Price: $205 Level: Intermediate/advanced V D P C O M P E T I T I O N T E A M S 4-6 Y e a r O l d s From this workshop, dancers will be selected for one of our three youngest competition teams. One is our Star Bursts who meet once a week for 1.25 hours and do a second routine in our spring recital. Second is our Starlites who meet twice a week (2.25 hour jazz, tap & IPT class, 1.25 hour ballet technique class.) The final option is our Stars Team. The Stars meet twice a week ( hours for tap, jazz, IPT and ballet routines, and 1.5 hour of ballet technique.) These teams compete with 1-4routines (tap, jazz, IPT and/or possibly ballet) at 4 competitions each spring and at nationals every other summer. During this 5-day workshop, dancers will learn skills, technique and routines in ballet, tap and jazz. Team members will be selected from the audition on July 27. Times will vary on audition day, July 27. July :30-1:00 Ages: 4-6 Price: $55

If your summer registration payment is not received within 5 days of registration, we will consider your enrollment(s) cancelled. During the registration, please make a note to check your student(s) s birthdates, under the My Students section to verify that the birthdate is correct.
