1 MINUTES OF TIPP CITY EXEMPTED VILLAGE SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF EDUCATION REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 21, 2017 The regular meeting of the Tipp City Exempted Village School District was held on August 21, 2017 at the Board of Education Offices, 90 S. Tippecanoe Drive, Tipp City, OH. The meeting was called to order by President Spano at 7:00 p.m. and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Roll Call: Absent: Present: Mr. Spano - President, Mr. Venters Vice President, Mrs. Frame, Mr. Maus Mrs. Dunaway Dr. Kumpf, Mr. Stevens, Mr. Gingerich, Mr. Pfister, Mrs. Robinson Communications A. Tippecanoe Athletic Boosters Carla Frame The annual Athletic Booster s fundraiser was held on Monday, August 14 th, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Over $14,000 was raised. 100% of all of the money collected will go to support our athletes. People can still donate on the Athletic Booster s web page. B. Tipp Monroe Community Services Frank Maus It will be a busy fall. Planned activities include the 39 th annual Run for the Mums, Challenge Island STEM WARS Family Night, Teen Driver Challenge, Ninja Obstacle Challenge, and the Friday Backpack Program. C. Miami Valley Career Technology Center Frank Maus The MVCTC plans to be on the November ballot hoping to pass a 1.43 mill levy which will cost $4.17 a month per $100,000 of home valuation. Also, Matt Huffman has taken over as the new treasurer for the MVCTC. Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent Reports A. Personnel Update Mr. Gingerich introduced Mr. Ron Duncan, the new part time music teacher. He also noted all of the other new hires that were not able to attend the meeting. They will be recommended for approval later in the meeting. All positions are filled at this time. B. Opening Day / Back to School / Open House Dr. Kumpf stated that the opening session was today. It was a great day. The new crest, vision and mission were highlighted. A back to school night is currently going on at the High School right now. It includes an abbreviated bell schedule. Both parents and students are attending. The middle school night will be tomorrow along with elementary school open houses. C. Recent Professional Development PBIS training was held on August 17 th. Respectful, Responsible, We have Integrity.

2 Citizen Comments None Noted President s Comments President Spano stated that it has been an exciting day. He expects a lot of excitement on Thursday. Kids will be back in the classroom. Athletics started last weekend. The first football game of the season will be held next Friday. There is lots of fun and excitement going on in the District. Good Times.
