1 3 rd Annual Miss Hope Mills Cotton Pageant Date: Friday, September 29, 2017 Saturday, September 30, 2017 Ages: 3 9 years old Ages: years old Location: South View High School Time: 6:30 pm Entry Requirements Applications must be properly filled out and accompanied with the $30.00 entry fee. All entries must be turned in and paid at the Hope Mills Recreation Center, 5766 Rockfish Road, Hope Mills, North Carolina by the registration deadline. The deadline is Friday, September 8, (No Exceptions) Age Groups: Contestants must be between the ages of 3 and 22 years of age. They will be broken into appropriate age groups based on ages: Wee Miss 3-5 Jr. Miss 6-9 Young Miss Teen Miss Miss Cotton 17-22

2 Awards: The pageant will be judged in divisions based on participant s age group. A trophy, crown and banner will be awarded to the winner in each category. First, second and third runner ups in each category will be awarded a trophy. Sponsorship Award A sponsorship award will be given to the top contestant that has raised the most money overall through sponsor money raised. This person will receive a crown, trophy and banner. We will also award the remaining top four with a trophy. Judges: Judges will be from the surrounding area. Contestants will be judged based on the criteria of the pageant. The judge s decision will be final. The judges score sheets will not be given to you the night of the pageant; however they can be picked up on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at the Hope Mills Recreation Center. The score sheets will be destroyed on Friday, October 20, 2017 if not picked up. Rehearsals: There will be a mandatory rehearsal that will take place on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at South View High School Auditorium. The rehearsal will be from 6:00 8:00 pm. If you do not attend, you may be disqualified and a refund will not be given. No additional rehearsals will be scheduled.

3 Photographer: There will be a photographer on site to take pictures that night. A price list and additional information will be given to you once we receive your paperwork. A Miss Photogenic will be named the night of the pageant by the photographer and will receive a trophy. Interviews: Contestants in the age groups and will have an on stage question that will be added to their score. Questions may come from your pageant application or other sources chosen from the pageant committee. People s Choice Award Vote for your favorite contestant by purchasing a flower and placing it in the vase provided with the contestant s name. The winner will be announced on Saturday night. The People s Choice Award winner will receive the flowers from the vase plus the cash of the amount of flowers purchased in their vase only. Other contestants will receive their vase and flowers. Backstage: Once the contestants arrive backstage or classroom, there will only be one parent allowed with the contestant. Thirty minutes prior to the pageant starting, all parents will be asked to leave the backstage or classroom area. We will have workers helping to make sure the contestants are ready for the stage. There will not be any exceptions. Failure to comply will result in disqualification.

4 Admission: Each contestant will be given 1 ticket for a parent or friend. The admission to the pageant will be $5.00 per person. That admission will be paid at the door. You may purchase advance tickets at the Hope Mills Recreation Center up until Wednesday, September 27, 2017 on or before 8:00 pm. After that all tickets will be purchased at the door. No refunds will be given.
