9 REGULATIONS To ensure the competition runs as efficiently as possible, no teams will be allowed to change their performance order. Additionally, there will be no division changes allowed after the registration deadline. The competition will begin with registration at 12:00 pm and events starting at 1:30 pm. The NDA, USA Safety Guidelines will be used. ADMISSION Parents/spectator admission cost: Adults - $5, Students - $3, Children three and under - FREE. There is ONLY ONE ADMISSION CHARGE and seating is on a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED BASIS. AWARDS Top Soloist Award based on highest score in soloist category Soloist Category Awards 1 st, 2 nd & 3 rd place awards will be given Top Duet Award based on highest score in duet category Duet Category Awards 1 st, 2 nd & 3 rd place awards will be given YISD Spirit of Dance Award based on highest score in team categories Large Team Awards -- 1 st, 2 nd & 3 rd place awards given in each age level & dance style Small Team Awards -- 1 st, 2 nd & 3 rd place awards given in each age level & dance style FOOTWEAR Hard soled shoes like Folklorico and tap are not permitted on the gym floor.

10 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Please visit for category descriptions, judging criteria, rubric, dance styles descriptions, judges biographies and credentials. Please turn in entire registration packet with your payment to Ysleta High School business office, Attn: Naomi Santacruz, 8600 Alameda Ave, El Paso, TX TIME LIMITS/MUSIC Soloist and Duet (School/): Each participant will perform a minimum of 60 seconds with the maximum of 90 seconds. A 0.5 penalty deduction will be accessed for every second a performer goes beyond 90 seconds. Not fulfilling the minimum time requirement will result in a 1-point penalty for every second failing to reach 60 seconds. No profanity or racial slurs are permitted or disqualification will result. Music is allowed on: mp3, flash drive, ipod, ipad Music not allowed on: computer, phone, cd, tape Team (School/Studio-Stars) Rules and Restrictions Each team will perform a choreographed routine not to exceed 2 minutes and 15 seconds (135 seconds). A 0.5 penalty deduction will be taken for every second a performer goes beyond 135 seconds. Performance times will be strictly adhered. All participants must be on deck and ready to perform 3 performances prior to their set. If participants name has been announced and the music starts and you are not ready to perform, the participant will be eliminated from the competition and there will not be any refunds. It is very important that all participants be prepared and ready to go when stage runner calls you in order to ensure a pleasurable and orderly experience for all.
