2 Event Overview TEAMS Each state will include 20 total players. The 20 players will be divided into two teams of 10 (Boys, Girls) COMPETITION Teams will compete against each other using the following formats: 5-Person Baker, 5-Person Traditional, 3-Person Baker, Doubles (combination of traditional & Baker), Mixed Doubles (combination of Traditional & Baker), and Singles. Points will be awarded each match to teams that record the greatest pinfall, or win the required number of games. Michiana Cup will be awarded to Tour which accumulates the most points during the competition. To secure the Cup, a Tour must capture 56.5 points of the possible 112. If a tie (56-56), the teams will square off in a "Super Team Baker" match where all ten bowlers throw one frame of the game. The boys and girls scores will then be combined to form a team total. Individual awards will be based on total pinfall recorded by bowler during traditional scoring formats only. Two divisions (boys, girls) Summary of Matches and available points: 2pts Ultimate Team Baker Match (Boys/Girls) - Best 2 of 3 20pts AM Singles - Single Game matches (10 boys,10 girls) total pins 10pts Doubles (Boys x 5, Girls x 5) - One Traditional game plus one baker game, total pins determines winner 10pts Mixed Doubles (Boys x 5, Girls x 5) - One traditional game plus one baker game, total pins determines winner 20pts PM Singles (Boys x10, Girls x10) - (2) traditional games, pairing based on seeding, total pins determines winner 6pts 4pts 40pts 1pt Trios Baker (Boys x 3, Girls x 3) - Best 3 of 5 determines winner 5-person Baker Team matches (2 boys, 2 girls) - Best 3 of 5 determines winner 5-person Traditonal Team matches (2 Boys, 2 Girls) - 5pts team pinfall, 1pt per Head to Head match. If Tied - Ultimate Team Baker Match (Boys/Girls) - Combined Total Pins 1 game. All Bowlers will bowl a total of 6 traditional games which will be used to determine individual awards In the Event of Ties: If a baker game ends in a tie, each team will get credit for 1/2 game. If a baker match ends in a 2 1/2-2 1/2 tie, teams will split the point. If a traditional scoring match ends in a tie, teams will split the point. If the total team points earned ends in a tie (56-56) then the Super Baker match will be used to determine Michiana Cup Champion. If this ends in a tie, Defending Champion will retain the cup. Ties within the individual standings will split scholarship awards. Ties for top three positions based on 2-game singles total. Lineups 5-Person Matches - Each coach will determine order of bowling which can be changed at start of each game 5 person teams will not be changed when going from traditional to baker. Teams will just flip opponents. For Trios and Doubles, coaches will select their teams (partners). Matchups will be set Friday evening. During Mixed Doubles Baker game, teams can select lineup order. During doubles baker games, teams will cross lanes. Rotation of bowler in Trios Baker matches is not required. During Trios baker matches, games will take place on one lane. There will be one Trio's team with 4 players. A player can not sit out two consecutive games for this match. Afternoon Singles pairings will be determined based on 3-game traditional totals during the morning rounds. Indiana #1 will bowl Michigan #1, Indiana #2 vs Michigan #2, etc within division. Practice Sessions The will be a 10 minute session prior to round 1 (Singles). No practice prior to round 2. Bowlers will get one practice ball on each lane prior to Round 3 and Round 4. There will be a 10 minute session prior to round 5 Prior to rounds 6-8, bowlers will get one ball on each lane. Lane Conditions Two sport compliant patterns (one long, one short) will be used. Awards All team members will receive a commemorative all-star medal Winning Tour will receive a Champions Banner to display throughout their regular season Winning Tour will take control of the traveling Michiana Cup for the year Top five boys and top five girls will earn scholarship points (40 / 35 / 30 / 25 / 20) Top three individual Boys and Girls will be given trophy/plaque
