Despitethesevolunteeringeorts,Irarelyturnedinthevolunteerhours.Myexcusesinclude,beinglazy,forgeulness,notconsideringit important,don tneedtheprizesandnotunderstandingthesignicanceofvolunteerhours. ThevolunteeracviesdoprovideatangibleeventwecanpointtoasaChapteraccomplishment,withbothprideandrecognionofa rewardtothechapter. Aswetalktosponsorsfortheaucons,adversinganddonaons,itisimportanttobeabletotellthemwhatwedoandhowmany hourswespentdoingit. Volunteerhoursincludetravelmeto&fromtheacvity,mespentpreparingfortheacvityandactualmedoingtheacvity.Total volunteerhoursarethesumofthesethreeelementsroundertothenearest¼hour. Wearemakingiteasierforvolunteerhourstobereported.Weareaskingtheeventcoordinatorstocollectandreportallthehoursthe volunteersworked,includingtravelandprepme. Thepriorday,equallyasperfect,NormRitchietookMartyValenciaBlanco,RobertWisher,DonVoeksandDougBriggscrabbinglongthe NorthShore.Duringthetwosoaks33,oenoversizemalecrabswanderedintothepots.EnoughcrabforSaturdaynight sdinnerand thensome.arotangdavitanda3 x6 entrymatoverthegunnelmadepullingpotsfun&keptthepaintunmarred. OnSaturday,shingwaswitha4 dropper,aasherandacutplugorwholeherringtrolledjustotheboom.usingthismethodmarty caughtalargecohosalmonintheocean,soshereluctantlyreleaseditintotheemeraldsea.martygotagreatpictureofitsilhoueed bythesunjustbeforeisprintedtoitsfreedom.martyalsotook211picturesofthesun.aerallsheisfromhawaiiandmissesthat equatorialsun. WhenJohnHydorn&BobGronlundgottheirmulyearskunko,theygotitobigmewith4fallChinook.WonderifJohn snew Yamahasplayedapartinthecatch.OtherboatscatchingshincludeNormRitchie,1keeper,MikeMyrick,2sh,DaveBisacreandGary Mo,3SalmonandonereleasedonJeWong sboat. Thefoodwasworldclassasusual.DinnerwasCrab,Salmon,Crab,FlankSteakandCrab.Dessertwaspiealamode.JolieRitchie& KathrynIsraelsonneverceasetoamazewiththeirculinaryskills.Theydon tneedvolunteers,asthevolunteerusuallymakeabigger mess(lessonlearned). TheonlydisappoinngthingabouttheTillamookFishalongwasthelackofparcipaonandthenumberofcancellaons.Thinkabout whatyoumissed.thecatchraowasanallmehighof1.6anglerdayspersh.
