2 Letter from the top... Well, here it is. APRIL!!! It s hard to believe. Skiing is winding down for the season, but now it s time for off snow activities! RODEO.. that s right, get your cowboy and cowgirl hats out, your boots on and let s go watch 30 or more cowboys ride some Bulls! Meet at my salon in New Haven at 5:30 PM on Saturday, April 14 th. We will commute over to Van Wert, Ohio, for a great time. You can bring a small cooler, yes and alcohol, but it must be in cans, NOOOO GLASS. It s always a great time. Now what you have all been waiting for TOUR DE FORT!!! Rides will begin April 29 th leaving from the New Haven trailhead at 10:30 am. We ll go downtown to the Fort for our first Bloody Mary s of the season, and on to the Zoo and other areas downtown. We'll grab a lunch and then back to New Haven. Come and join me. This year I will give a reward to the person who rides the most Tour de Fort rides with me. Soooo get in your time and get healthy! There are other activities in April: meet and great with Sunnie and others. So read your mogul and stay informed. Now let s talk ELECTIONS This club needs your help. The people running this fine club have all been doing their jobs for many years. It is really time for new people to step up and take this club into the next phase. Don t get me wrong, we all love this club, but a few do so much. So please jump in and help us help you all. I m sure you re all getting tired of your president; I know I am! Who s next?? So come to the next party and put in your vote. I hope all you skiers had a great ski season, now join me for spring fun.. WAHOOOO!! Pres. We start hitting the little fuzzy yellow ball around the court on May 16 so if you want to join us contact Dave or SkiClubFW@aol.com Again this year we are playing individually, but with a partner that changes each 8 games. The night s high game winner moves up a court and the low point player moves down the next week. It will be both social and competitive for all abilities. Again this year there is NO COST for Ski Club members (or summer membership $8). We only ask that you bring a new can of tennis balls every 4th time you play. We will play 24 nights, weather permitting, every Wednesday 8PM through October 31, at Kreager & Swinney Parks. Jump in and out as you please; just let me know. Rules are posted on fwsc.org 6

7 April 14 at 5:30 p.m., meet at The Duce Hair Design, 920 SR 930 East, New Haven to convoy to the Hat Creek Arena in Van Wert, Ohio. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the rodeo show starting at 7:30 p.m. You can take a small cooler with you; beer is allowed. There is a nice concession stand for sandwiches and soda. Take a blanket for the bleachers & don't forget to wear that cowboy hat! ADULTS: $12 CHILDREN: $5 3 & UNDER: FREE This is a cash only facility: no plastic accepted. 8 Champagne Cruise 2018 is now history with 50 skiers riding the bus, 6 skiers driving up, and 3 skiers meeting the group at Boyne Highlands. Snow was only OK this year but it was still good for lots of skiing and racing for the 30 participants. Temperature was OK too at about degrees. The infamous pool party. Note: not everyone made it to dinner. Dave finishing off 26 bottles of champagne. Fire damage 1 year later 8

9 Skiing, socializing, eating, racing and winning; what more can be said about 2018 s CMSC trip to Steamboat Springs CO? If these pics are any indication, the Fort Wayne Ski Club was there, did that, and has the stories to tell. Next year is Aspen and we can safely assume FWSC will be well represented! 9
