2 Introduction With steady build up in per capita steel consumption in the years too come, as the projections indicate, India is likely too draw the attentionn of the investors on steel spread worldwide. Thee Indian steell sector, comprising steel makers of all variants in terms of size and capacities, requires marching ahead inn a more organized manner to enablee exchange of o information easier with technology providers and in turn technology transfer to the recipient is realistic. Against this backdrop, a one day techno-fair International Conclave on Iron & Steel Making (ICISM-2015) is being organised by Quality Circle Forum of India (QCFI), Bhilai Chapter, in association with Bhilai Steel Plant, (a unit Steel Authority of India Limited), Bhilai Engineering Corporation (BEC) and BEEKAY Engineering Limited. The Conclave aims: To unite stalwarts and professionals from world class technology supplier, equipment manufacturer, experts, consultants, contractors etc. in a rendezvous to showcase andd disseminatee latest prevalent trends and products inn their respective fields, the innovations they have developed, new technical benchmarks attained, optimumm utilization of manufacturing capacities, usage of renewablee energy resources with emphasis on mitigation of o global warming/carbonn footprint and clean environment development that is sustainable and inclusive for the generations to come. To provide a technical forum for sharing innovations, discussing challenges & opportunities, impartingg industrial application experiences, deliberating various R&D efforts, use of Automation an informationn technology (IT) and exploring emerging trends in the area of Quality Iron and Steel Making. The conclave is of the highest order in keeping with the standards of our institution and is all set to bring together ann august gathering of a large number of prospective Steel makers, Mining Expert and equipment manufacturer from national and international steel and mining sector, thus trying to bridge the gap with information exchange on the existing and the emerging new technologies with a view to optimize steel making cost and draw solutions to other related phenomena. Expecting an overwhelming participation from India and Overseas by Steel Producers, Technologists, Academicians and technology providers, the first (ICISM-2015) is being organized. ICISM-2015 will facilitate a unique platformm for thought provoking interaction among scientists and technologists from research / academic institutes, technologyy developers, steel makers, maintenance & project personnel, consultants and manufacturers for steel industry.

3 Conclave Details: ICISM-2015 will be held on February 7 th, 2015 at Hotel Gateway (A Taj group of hotel), Raipur, India. Official language of the Conclave is English. The detail information regarding Conclave is also available on website www. icism.in; or Conclave Topics: The Conclave will include Technical Paper Presentations, Manufacturer Presentations and Technical Exhibitionn etc. The broad areas the Conclave will focus on are: Steel making process and technology: 1. Modeling and Simulation for Steel Process Control Expert / Knowledge Management Systems 5. Advancement and Futuristic Automation & IT technologies for steell enterprise 6. Computerization of Business Functions through ERP & MES 7. Process Control and Instrumentation Mining and Raw material Handling: 8. Mining 9. Raw Material Handling, 10. Use of IT and automation in mining and raw material handling Call for Papers: Technical papers are invited for presentation cum discussion n in the Conclave. Prospective contributors aree requested to submit the abstract of about words forr review. The templates of the abstract can bee downloaded from Conclave website www. icism.in; or Abstracts are to be submitted on-linee on the Conclave website or to be sent to gpsingh@sail-bhilaisteel.com; or Preference will be given to papers which deal with new advancement and developments in the aforesaid areas. Abstracts will be reviewed by the Technical Committee before their acceptance. Authors of the accepted paper will be requested to submit the full text of paper as per guidelines. All accepted papers received in time shall bee published in Conclave proceedings (CD / DVD). Author(s) of accepted papers who will be attending thee Conclave for paper presentation have to register as a delegate byy paying the delegate fee.

Delegate Registration: Professionals, researchers, entrepreneurs s, academicians, technology solution & product manufacturers and all concerned with steel and mining industries from across the globe are invited to attend thee Conclave and benefit from the large wealth of knowledge and expertise available during the Conclave. Registration fee includes Conclave Kit and invitation to all events. There will be no additional charges for accompanying spouses of outstation delegates. Author(s) of accepted paperss who will be attending the Conclavee for paper presentation have to register as a delegate. A nominal fee of ` Rs. 50,000 (US $ 1200) shall be charged for each presentation of 25 minutes duration. The charges include free registration for one delegate.

5 Technical Exhibition: With a view to exhibit the advancemen nts made in the productss and solutions for Mining and Steel Industry, a Technical Exhibition has been planned during the Conclave. Technology Suppliers, Equipment Manufacturers, Automation Specialists, Laboratory Equipment Manufacturers, IT Service Providers, Technical Bookk Publishers etc. are invited to participate in the technical exhibition to highlight their products and services. Exhibition space of about 3 m x 2.5 m (minimum) with adequate furnishing and basic illumination facilities shalll be provided to each exhibitor. A nominal fee of ` Rs. 30,000 (US $ 900) shall be charged for eachh exhibition stall, which also includes freee registration for one delegate. Souvenir &Advertisements: A Souvenir containing Conclave details and informative articles will be released during the day longg programme and distributedd to each registered delegate. All interested manufacturers, Automation, ITT manufacturers, Service providers and other relevant organisations are invited to place advertisements highlighting their products and achievements. The matter for advertisement may be provided in any form of soft copy and submitted to the Conclave secretariat latest by to facilitate timely printing of the souvenir.
