2 Chairman s welcome On behalf of Dublin Camogie, I wish to extend a cead mile failte to the Scottish Womens Camanachd Association, players and officials on the occasion of their visit to Dublin to play in the annual composite rules game Vs Dublin. Over the last number of years Dublin Camogie has forged a close working relationship with the Womens Camanachd Association and this association has lead to an agreement whereby we now play on a Home and Away basis. In 2016 Dublin travelled over to Inverness for the first of a three match series. This was a wonderful occasion for the Dublin girls and the welcome we received was second to none and we hope to extent the same warm welcome to the Scottish travelling party this weekend. In 2016 the Dublin girls won the trophy in Inverness and I know the Scottish girls will be anxious to wrestle this back in Saturdays game. This should ensure a very competitive game between the two sides. This year there will be a slight change in tradition in that the Dublin team will be made up of club players as opposed to County players. This is due to the timing of this game. Normally these games are played in Oct, but the two Associations agreed to bring forward this game forward to July. As a consequence, this rules out our County players who are in All Ireland action at present. This gives our club players an ideal opportunity to pit their skills against Scotland and they are eagerly looking forward to Saturdays encounter. Dublin had hoped to stage this composite rules game in Parnell Park (County ground), but unfortunately this is closed for repair work to be carried out. However, through the good offices of Tom Ryan, Na Fianna ( a long friend of the composite rules game ) we have secured Na Fianna s main pitch in Mobhi Road for the purpose of staging this fixture. In conclusion, can I once again say how delighted Dublin Camogie are to host this important event in our calendar. Sincere thanks to Lisa Norman (Scottish Comanachd) for making this trip a reality. 3 WCA President s Welcome President of the Women s Camanachd Association On behalf of the Womens Camanachd Association I would like to extend my thanks to Dublin Camogie Board and Na Fianna GAA Club for their friendly welcome and fantastic hospitality. A trip to Dublin is always a memorable experience for all involved and our hosts have excelled themselves as usual. This is year two of a three years series of home and away games with Dublin and I m sure this year will be as exciting a game as last year. My congratulations to all the Scotland girls for getting selected to represent their country and I thank them for all their hard work and effort in the run up to today s match. Grateful thanks goes to our Head Coach Stuart Reid in organising and selecting a team from the vast talent now competing in the Women s game. And to his support team Ross Brown and Sue Emery who have spent a lot of time working with the squad, their time and effort is very much appreciated and I hope they are all rewarded with today s result. Behind the scenes I am indebted to the coaching team who have worked hard in organising and chasing all the crucial administration for the squad; your time and effort is very much appreciated!
