Whether you re a long-standing supporter or considering your first membership for you, your friends or family, you play an invaluable role in driving the club forward, as we represent Edinburgh, the Lothians, Borders, Tayside and Fife in elite rugby competition. Our vision is to build a sustainable club through the medium of our academy, and to grow an inspirational and winning rugby culture for current and future Scottish rugby players. Crucially, recruitment over the previous and close season, and the promotion of Elite Development Players into the senior squad, means we have enough young Scots coming through to field close to a full Scottish U23 squad. This is the future of Edinburgh Rugby and bodes very well for the future of this club, particularly when viewed in the context of our new-look leadership, which adds Grant Gilchrist, Matt Scott and David Denton to the likes of Alasdair Dickinson, Mike Coman, Ross Ford and Andries Strauss. We believe this approach will help build an increasingly successful team in the PRO12 and European Cup competitions, and thus grow the intense and competitive environment for the nation s best, home-grown talent to develop and prosper. Alan Solomons Edinburgh Rugby Head Coach New Faces - Ones To Watch Sam Hidalgo-Clyne, (20) scrum-half: A quick wit and lightning acceleration have seen Hidalgo-Clyne impress in his debut season with more expected to come from the highly-rated scrum-half who has extended his contract until Chris Dean, (20) centre: Scotland 7s and U20 starlet Chris Dean lifted the Brewin Dolphin Scottish Schools Cup in three consecutive seasons and joins the senior squad on a two-year deal. He will represent Scotland U20 in the summer s Junior World Championships (JWC) in New Zealand before kicking off his career in black and red. Jamie Ritchie, (17) back-row: In Jamie Ritchie, Edinburgh Rugby have one of the top young talents in the Scottish game, so much so that the Scotland U18 captain has been contracted straight from school into the senior squad. He has represented Scotland at U16 and U18 and will represent Scotland U20 in the coming JWC, still aged just 17. Tom Heathcote, (22) stand-off: Born in Inverness, Heathcote won his first cap in the 2012 EMC Tests and made two more starts for his country in the summer of 2013, against Samoa and Italy. Considered one of the brightest young contenders for the national number 10 jersey and arrives with 257 points and 41 Premiership and European Cup appearances under his belt. We also host at least four non-match day events each season. Matchday Masterclass Edinburgh Rugby is committed to creating the best possible match-day experience in professional rugby and last season we engaged with more than 65 teams / clubs who participated in masterclasses, our guard of honour and games on the pitch at half time. We will build on this number every year and make sure that more of our young fans receive an evening to remember.
