A Few Kind Words We ll put the FIFA World Cup on hold for today thanks the biggest game of the day is at the Domain. It has been a few weeks since I wrote a column, thanks to DB for stepping in last home game writing a very nice piece. In the meantime the lads have picked up a couple of points, scored a few goals and our performances have lifted. Firstly a 4-4 draw vs Unicol was another game where we really should have picked up three points. A few sloppy errors and switching off at vital times cost us, however some nice play at the other end to score four goals is pleasing to see. Before this game we lost our GK Jono to a fractured fi nger and we thrust young Jordan in to goal. To be fair Jordan has played a blinder and his save right on fulltime was top drawer. Last week we travelled to unbeaten Old Blues. It s fair to say if we played like that all season we would be in the top four. Andrew Clothier has brought a confi dence to the front three and the others are thriving on this. It was always going to be a physical encounter, and we didn t back away from that. Bjorn Vossen bossed the midfi eld which allowed others the freedom to create. William had his best game in a Swifts shirt and Jordan a second great performance in goal. I felt the penalty to concede was slightly harsh, but we put ourselves under pressure and Old Blues draw level. We still created enough to win the match with Ben, Nacho and Andrew all having good opportunities. Still a point and a great performance to go with it against an unbeaten side. We will take that for the time being. This week we welcome TBC to the Domain for the battle at the bottom. We really need to take the good parts of our game and bring them to the pitch today in a full 90 minute performance. If we do this I am confi dent of a positive result, but having already been beaten this season by TBC they will be confi dent they can beat us, so I feel this week will be all about who wants the points more on the day. We really have to be up for this one. Once again thanks for your support, see you in the bar afterwards and enjoy the World Cup!!!
