As I am sure parents will have noted by looking through the term planner sent home at the end of last term, school will be a busy place for everyone this term! Please also note that there have been a few changes made to the planner. An updated version is available on our school website. LIGHTNING CARNIVAL Please come along and support our Year 5 and 6 students participating in the Lightning Carnival tomorrow at Kingsway Sporting Complex. Students will be involved in football, netball and soccer games playing against other local schools throughout the day. The weather forecast looks promising which is great, but students will still need to come along prepared for a winter s day with appropriate attire, hat, sunscreen, their lunch, snacks and drink bottle. Parents please ensure that your child has a healthy range of food options that will help sustain their energy levels throughout the day. The Lightning Carnival is always a much anticipated event for our senior students who all look forward to participating. Good luck to all students competing. Go Dalmain! PLANNING FOR 2019 This term our planning for next year begins in earnest. One of the most important factors in planning for 2019 is establishing an accurate forecast of student numbers. Parents of students who will not be attending Dalmain Primary School next year are requested to advise either their child s class teacher or the school office as soon as possible. Parents cooperation with this request is very much appreciated. A final reminder to parents that applications for kindergarten next year should be submitted by tomorrow. P&C MEETING The first meeting for term three will be held next Tuesday evening in the staffroom commencing at 7:00pm. All parents are welcome to come along and join in. SCITECH VISIT Members from the Scitech team will be visiting our school on Monday to trial their latest Science Outreach program. Our students are the lucky ones who get to see and participate in these innovative and highly engaging programs. There is no cost involved in this activity.

2 ASSEMBLY Our Year 5/6 students from TA 5 will be our hosts for the first class assembly for this term next Thursday. I look forward to seeing another large turnout of school community members to support our students. PARENT BULLYING INFORMATION SEMINAR CONFIRMED There has been a very positive response from parents regarding the prosed Bullying Seminar. As a result I can now confirm that this event will go ahead. 3 Kindergarten 2019 Enrolments Now Open Applications for enrolments of students entering Kindergarten or changing schools in the 2019 school year should be made BY FRIDAY 20 JULY Application for Enrolment forms can be obtained from the school s website or the school office. Parents are encouraged to bring along their child s Birth Certificate, Proof of Address and ACIR Immunisation History Statement when applying. School Uniform Shop School Banking Next Open: In the Library Wednesday, 1 August am 8.40am Uniform Shop Contact: dalmain.uniforms@gmail.com Uniform order forms (click here) can be placed in an envelope marked UNIFORM ORDER and dropped in the Uniform box located in the office at any time. Every Wednesday 8.20am to 8.45am Dalmain Skipping Club Skipping Club will commence next Wednesday 25 July Skipping Club is for Year One to Year Six students who are keen to have fun skipping while improving their fitness. Skipping Club will be run on Wednesdays from 8.10am 8.30am in the undercover area. An information note will be going home with all students today. Please note permission forms must be returned to the office or handed to Mrs Ridley on the day. Parents are welcome and encouraged to come along and help turn ropes. Help with rope turning is required so the children can learn long rope and multi rope skills and tricks. Skipping ropes are available, however, students can bring a rope from home if preferred.
