1 PRUI 2012 SPONSORSHIP PROPOSAL PRUI 2012 SPONSORSHIP PROPOSAL To bring Rugby to the forefront of Indonesian sport through training, coordination and promotion of the Game and its core values for the benefit of all Introduction Persatuan Rugby Union Indonesia (PRUI) or Indonesian Rugby as it is better known was established in May 2004 by a group of friends and since that time the Union has successfully raised funds in excess of US$400,000 to help develop and manage Rugby Union in the country. In 2012 we are looking for your institution to support Indonesian Rugby by becoming one of the Union s valuable sponsors for this great cause, and to assist the Union in providing an opportunity for Indonesians of both sexes to enjoy playing one of the world s premiere sports. Indonesian Rugby especially targets school children and youths as these young people are seen as the future of Indonesian sports and also the leaders of this emerging giant of a nation. You will see in this presentation the benefits that your institution will receive that we feel can mutually compliment your business and your Corporate Social Responsibility activities. History Rugby had been played in Indonesia as a social sport for more than 30 years, mainly by expatriates living in the country, prior to PRUI s formation. PRUI was formed in May 2004 by a small group of volunteers with the purpose of developing the sport and culture of Rugby Union in Indonesia. PRUI has been a Full Member of the Asian Rugby Football Union (ARFU) since October 2005 & an Associate Member of the International Rugby Board (IRB) since March PRUI s inception was seen as a means to formally organise the sport and orient it towards a path of achievement and recognition from the IRB, towards Komite Olahraga Nasional Indonesia (KONI) and the Indonesian Ministry of Sports & Youth Affairs. Since May 2004, there has been a marked growth in the number of local participation from the ranks of school-age to senior players, as well as coaches, referees and administrators, from around 40 to now more than 700 Indonesians involved in the Game. Indonesian Rugby provides a wonderful opportunity to companies or institutions with a real sense of Corporate Social Responsibility as Indonesian school children and youths invariably lack the ability to participate in organised sport of any form. Indonesian Rugby does not discriminate as it recognises that girls have an equal opportunity with boys to play Rugby. The Union recognises that the future of Indonesian Rugby lies in the hearts and minds of the nation s school children and youths. There is no greater way to do something for children and youths than to teach them the value of sport through Rugby and how its lessons can teach them so much about what lies ahead in life. How your support works Indonesian Rugby provides IRB-qualified (Level 1 Coaches) National Rugby Development Officers (RDO s) to provide and supervise Grass Roots, Schools & Community Rugby Programs. As part of this program these Officers can provide IRB courses such as Rugby Ready, as well as suitable training for IRB-recognised Tag Rugby and Rugby 7s, both of which are ideal ways of teaching children and youths the basics of the Game. In order to carry out this training, PRUI s RDO s need balls, training cones, tackle shields and most importantly access to safe fields all of this costs money and your money will be well-spent in providing all of these necessities, as well as providing a salary for each RDO. Sponsorship can also provide either PRUI or the Tournament Host Club with additional funds to cover its own Rugby Development needs. Indonesian Rugby has an obligation to conduct IRB Training Courses for Referees in the past these courses have included IRB Level 1 & 2 courses.

Without these people no match or tournament can take place. All referees are members of the Society of Indonesian Rugby Referees (SIRR). SIRR is affiliated to Indonesian Rugby. Indonesian Rugby has an obligation to conduct IRB Training Courses for Referees in the past these courses have included IRB Level 1 & 2 courses. The Union also provides Match/ Tournament Officials to supervise matches/ tournaments, plus coordinate these from the sidelines. How your support works Sponsorship assists Indonesian Rugby in organising and hosting Training Camps, plus sourcing Coaches/ Managers for each of these representative teams (where necessary).

Sponsorship also assists PRUI in renting training facilities including playing fields, swimming pools, gyms, etc which are all necessary facilities in preparing the various international teams.
