1 SPORT 2018
2 2 Why are we here? To revise what sport entails at CHSHS. To explain the opportunities students have and how you can support them for some students, this is one area where they experience success. To think about whether or not you would like to be involved in any aspect of the sport program in our school To have the opportunity to upskill yourselves with a couple of low risk, little equipment and few rule games for when you receive a sport super and you have no idea what to do

7 7 Gala days and competitions CHSHS provides our students with many opportunities to compete in gala days against schools across the darling downs and south west regions These opportunities provide many life learning experiences through committing to training and to learning how to work in and for a team Gala days involve teams being selected, permission forms, training leading up to the competition, completing variations to school routines and then organising uniforms and any other equipment required for the event. All information, including a checklist is available on g Drive: coredata: curriculum: sport: sport 2018 If you are interested in assisting or taking on a team, please complete one of the sheets at the front of the hall
8 8 Tuesday Afternoon Sport Many of you have been allocated to Tuesday afternoon sport on your timetables either currently or in the past Often staff receive a supervision for Tuesday afternoon sport Whilst every effort is given to make life easier on the supervision slip, it is still sometimes daunting to receive one of these supervisions Every staff member with an internal relief line/s may end up with a sport supervision The main objective for Tuesday afternoon sport is to engage our yr 7 & 8 students in some meaningful physical activity so that we give them tools they may take with them to gain their recommended 60 minutes of physical activity per day If you receive a supervision and really don t know what to do, today we are providing you with some PD into 3 easy, low risk, few rules, minimal equipment activities. There is a games booklet in our sport procedure manual on G Drive also We are now going to head down to the oval where we will split into 3 groups and use our remaining time to refine, refresh or grasp the concepts of some easy fun games for students.
