It is a special year as we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Adult Soccer Fest with a return to Bellingham, Washington. The Annual Adult Soccer Fest serves as the premier event for recreational soccer, and it demonstrates the best qualities of our sport: spirited competition, achievement, sportsmanship, camaraderie, and fun! A player s passion for soccer only increases with age. The Adult Soccer Fest, presented by The United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA), offers opportunities for players of all ages and abilities to get back on the pitch. A week built around soccer, food and beer, the Adult Soccer Fest is the largest sanctioned adult soccer event in the United States. Born as the Veterans Cup back in 1998, this event was created with the intention of providing high-level soccer to both men and women, whatever their age. Rivalries on the field have led to friendships off and helped turn this event into a week of competition and celebration for over 3,000 players, family members and supporters marks the 20th anniversary of the tournament that was inaugurated in Bellingham. It s fitting that on the year of the 20th anniversary the tournament wil be held where it all started. 6

11 GETTING AROUND BUSES Several bus options are available in Bellingham and Whatcom County. The Whatcom Transportation Authority (WTA) is the local bus system with more than 30 routes that link Whatcom County communities. Airporter Shuttle transports passengers to and from SeaTac Airport, the Washington State Ferry dock at Anacortes and several other destinations along the I-5 corridor. Quick Shuttle transports passengers arriving and departing from Canada only (Vancouver, B.C./Bellingham/ Seattle). TAXI CABS Yellow Cab service is available throughout Bellingham, as well as between Bellingham and Seattle or Vancouver, B.C. See contact info below. UBER Uber service is available throughout Bellingham, as well as to and from Bellingham International Airport. Find out more at: TRAIN Amtrak service connects Bellingham with Seattle, Portland and Eugene, OR to the south, as well as Vancouver, B.C. to the north. Two northbound and two southbound trains depart Bellingham daily. Trains depart at the Fairhaven Station (I-5 Exit 250). 12 When is Team Check-in? Team check-in is on Tuesday, July 10th from 12 am - 7:30 pm at the host hotel. Teams can also check in at the HQ tent during the tournament but we strongly recommend that teams check in the night before the game to ensure team rosters are complete. What if I can t make Team Check-in on Tuesday night? Managers are able to finalize their roster online up to 5 days before the tournament. You will need to tournaments@usasa.com if you will like to confirm your team s roster. Another option is a player from the team can come in on Tuesday to check the team in. Can teams request to make changes to game times? We can not make any changes to the schedule once it is released. Teams should be prepared to play anytime between 7 am - 8 pm each day. When does the tournament start? Games start on Wednesday morning for the Over 50 through Over 70 divisions. Open starts Friday afternoon. Women s Over 30 s & Men s Over 40 s start Thursday afternoon. ** Please note that Women s Over 40 will start games Wednesday afternoon.** How many players on the field? All division play 11v11 full sided games except the Women s Over 65 and Men s Over 70 which play 9v9 on smaller field. How long are the games? Game time is dependent on age group & bracket size. Games could be shortened due to inclement weather. How many games do teams play in a day? Generally one game per day although there can be two scheduled dependent on age group & bracket size. How many games are teams guaranteed? Teams are guaranteed a minimum of 3 games. How many players can I have on my team roster? Teams are allowed to have up to 25 players on their team pool. Can I play on multiple teams? Players can play on up to two (2) team as long they meet the age requirement of the division and is not playing with another team in the same division. How many subs are teams allowed? Teams are allowed unlimited subs in all divisions. Will trainers be available? Trainers will be available starting at 7:30 am for games starting at 8:00 am. If games start earlier they will be available 30 minutes prior to start times. Will water be available at the fields? Yes, we will have water coolers but not cups on the fields. Make sure to bring a water bottle to the fields. Are spectators allowed on the sidelines? Only players and the coach/manager are allowed on the PLAYER side of the field.
