3 NTRODUCTON Continued core drilling exploration completed on the Bonanza Claim Group in 2001 was assayed in The claim group is located in the Bonanza Lake Area on the north end of Vancouver sland, British Columbia. The claims are held by Omya Canada nc. and contain white, high-calcium crystalline limestone. The assay work follows the 2001 core drilling and prior programs in an ongoing effort to characterize this deposit area of white crystalline limestone associated with the Triassic Lower Quatsino Formation in terms of potential ore quality and quantity for possible future development. Omya Canada nc. is based in Perth, Ontario. t is the largest producer of white finely ground, high-calcium carbonate products in Canada. ts powder and slurry products are consumed throughout the paper, plastic, paint, pharmaceutical, and building industries. PROPERTY STATUS The Bonanza Claim Group currently consists of seven (7) claims covering a 925 Hectare area as shown in Figures 1 and 2. The claims with respective tenure numbers are: Bonanza 1 (230188), Bonanza 2 (230189), 5-16 #1 (329082), J-16 #2 (329083), 5-16 #3 (329084), J- 16 #4 (329085), and KC4 (367208). All claims are presently registered in the name of Omya Canada nc. LOCATON AND ACCESS The Bonanza Claim Group covers the mountainous area located immediately east of the Bonanza River at north end of Bonanza Lake. Port McNeill, the closest town, is about 40 km (by road) to the northwest. Access from Port McNeill is via BC Highway 19 south for 10 km and then via Telegraph Cove Rd east for 14 km. Bonanza Lake and the Claim Group are then reached by following main logging roads for 15 km. The Bonanza Claim Group is located in the Timberwest Tree Farm License Area No. 47. PREVOUS ASSESSMENT REPORTS Previous assessment reports by Howard Brown have described Physiography and Climate, Uses and Specifications of High Brightness, High-Purity Limestone, Regional Geology, Local Geology, Formation of the Limestone Deposit, and Deposit Description including prior geologic mapping, core drilling, and assays. 3

4 SUMMARY OF 2001 CORE DRLLNG Five (5) vertical BQ Core Holes (BC-BZ-01-1 to 5) were drilled in June 2001 on the Bonanza Claim Group as shown in Figure 2. The drilling totaled M ( 1367 ) and was concentrated in the northern portion of the Claim Group. All cores were drilled vertically near or within the hanging wall grey limestone in an effort to intercept white crystalline limestone layers associated with the Triassic Lower Quatsino Formation. Core BC-BZ was collared and completed in dark grey hanging wall limestone. Cores BC-BZ-01-3 and 4 drilled thru steeply dipping mafic dikes and bottomed in white crystalline limestone. Cores BC-BZ-01 and 5 drilled thru white crystalline limestone into the underlying footwall Karmutsen volcanics. Carbonate rock in the northern portion of the deposit is farther from the main batholith intrusive contact and is less metamorphosed and finer grained than rock in the southern end of the deposit. The area selected for drilling forms a large outcrop of medium to coarse grained white crystalline limestone with limited grey limestone hanging wall CORE DRLLNG ASSAY PROCEDURE The potential crystalline limestone ore layers from three (3) vertical 2001 BQ Cores (BZ , BC-BZ-0 1-4, and BC-BZ-0 1-5) were split lengthwise into seventy nine (79) x 3.05 M (10 ) intervals, crushed, and riffle split into 500 gm samples for analyses. Mafic dikes and sills were omitted as noted. The cores were also photographed before and after splitting. Samples were analyzed for acid insolubles, chemistry, and dry brightness at the Omya ndustries nc. Analytical Laboratory facilities in Proctor, Vermont to determine potential use for dry ground products. All remaining original core and crushed split core intervals are in Omya ndustries nc. Geology Department storage in Proctor, Vermont CORE DRLLNG ASSAY RESULTS SUMMARY Cumulatively ten (10) cores have been completed on the property and numerous surface samples have been collected. The 2001 core logs and earlier core logs and assay results have been included in previously submitted reports. This summary discusses the 2001 drilling results incorporating information compiled in previous reports. Figures 3 to 5 graphically summarize the Analytical Results (Acid nsolubles, Chemistry and Mesh Dry Brightness) and Lithology for the 2001 cores tested to date. Analytical results are reported in Tables 1 to 3. Analyses to date show the white to off white crystalline limestone associated with the Lower Quatsino Formation is uniformly high purity (>98% CaC03) with variable, but generally low acid insolubles (a.5 to 3.0%) and uniformly low MgC03 (10.7%). 4

5 Overall mesh green filter dry brightness for potential crystalline limestone ore layers typically range from and are visually described as white to off-white. Subsequently; original tested intervals from each core were composited to show their potential ore zone quality and thickness. (Note - all thickness figures reported are drilled thickness.) Core BC-BZ has four (4) composite zones ranging in drilled thickness from M (20-90 ) with composite dry brightness ranging 86.6 to 89.0 ( Mesh Green Filter) and tint. Note this high tint is related to iron oxidation along styolites and fractures as observed in the core. Core BC-BZ-01-4 has one (1) composite zone with a drilled thickness of 9.6 M (32 ) with a composite dry brightness of 86.5 ( Mesh Green Filter) and 6.3 tint. Core BC-BZ-01-5 has four (4) composite zones ranging in drilled thickness from M (18-90 ) with composite dry brightness ranging 89.3 to 91.1 ( Mesh Green Filter) and tint. ndividual tested intervals ( 3.05 M / 10 ) of dry brightness 185 ( Mesh Green Filter) were not considered as potential ore zones. There are also a couple of intervals visually described as white and white to off-white which tested below 85 ( Mesh Green Filter). Fine grinding to a 2 pm mean typically can raise the brightness by a couple of points making the potential ore suitable for fine ground products; however, in some cases (i.e. high sulfides) it can depress the brightness. This needs to be further evaluated in conjunction with flotation testing to lower acid insolubles (impurities) and increase the brightness. Limited flotation has been the only beneficiation method evaluated to date. RECOMMENDATONS The work detailed in this report was carried out to further evaluate the quality of potential ore and detailed stratigraphy on the property. Continued evaluation will consist of ongoing core drilling with analyses and geologic mapping as the access is improved by ongoing logging in the area. t will be important to determine the geologic controls (i.e. structure and straigraphy) on the thickness and distribution of the potential ore layers. n addition, further ore beneficiation studies will be conducted as part of future assessment. 5
