First President Mancuso presented a plaque to Past President Dan Rich thanking him for his service to the NECEA. Next, Mancuso received his own plaque from incoming President Neal Waters in recognition of Mancuso s term as President for Annual Meeting Recap 156 golfers hit the course at Glastonbury Hills Country Club on May 19 th for the NECEA s John Sponzo Memorial Golf Outing. The weather was magnificent, and so was the crowd for dinner, as an additional 40 members and guests joined the golfers at the dinner tables for filets and stuffed shrimp. The formal program started with outgoing President Richard Mancuso welcoming the large crowd for dinner and introducing Roe Sponzo to the crowd. Our golf outing has been renamed to honor the memory of her late husband John Sponzo, a Past-President of the NECEA and the driving force behind the NECEA s Golf outing for many years. Lisa Mullen gave the invocation, and announced the NECEA s scholarship award recipients for 2009 (see separate article). The new slate of officers for was introduced: Neal Waters serve as President, Mike Smith will serve as Treasurer, and the newest officer is Paula Pelletier who will serve as Steward. After dinner, Golf Chairman Bob Partridge thanked the Hole Sponsors and Special Event Sponsors that all played an important role in the success of the event (see following lists). Bob announced the Golf awards (See separate list), and after dinner drawings for

2 the door prizes took place. Two of the door prizes were 32 flat-screen TV s donated by the NECEA. When the last of the door prizes was awarded, the only matter left on the agenda was the massive 50/50 drawing. Past President Bill Mullen was holding the lucky ticket, and he generously donated back $100 to the NECEA. It was a very successful day and evening, and the NECEA is very grateful to Bob Partridge for organizing all of the moving parts that were components of this terrific event.
