2 Welcome and thank you for deciding to come out for the Bradford High School Golf team! We hope that during the season you improve your golf skills and contribute as a member of the team to help us have another successful year. Coach s Expectations 1. Demonstrate good sportsmanship 2. Gain a better understanding of the rules 3. Be competitive Athletic Code of Conduct 1. No unexcused absences from any class For every truancy, you must sit out one match 2. No F s during the 3 rd and 4 th quarters If you are having difficulties in a class, please make a coach aware of the situation. This way we can work with you and your teachers to keep you academically eligible. Practice 1. Our season begins on March 30 th 2. Team practices are at Maplecrest Golf Course, which is located at 18 th street and Hwy H. 3. Practice times are from 3:15 / 3:30 till 5:30pm 4. If you are not playing in a meet you must be at practice, unless you have been given special permission by Mr. Pascucci or Mr. Cushman. 5. If you work after school, you will need to change your work schedule during the season. We will work on the following things at practice: Stretching Fundamentals of the golf swing, grip, stance, and balance Bunker play, putting, pitching and chipping Consistent play Course management

3 Transportation 1. Each player is responsible for arranging their own means of transportation to practice. If you need a ride, Mr. Pascucci or Mr. Cushman can give them as long as we have parent permission. 2. For those of you who do not have a car, try to carpool with a teammate who does. 3. After practice, you need to arrange for your own ride home. 4. If you are playing in a meet, we will always provide transportation back to Bradford. Weather 1. We often practice and have meets in the rain. Be prepared! Umbrellas, rain gear, and extra gloves and socks will be needed. 2. For the cold, have the following things in your bag: winter hat, mittens, sweatshirt/jacket. Storage of Equipment 1. If you do not have a car to store you clubs in you have two options: Leave them in a teammates car who will be at practice the next day Bring them to Mr. Pascucci s room in the morning 2. Remember, nobody is responsible for your equipment but you. Make sure you leave it in a safe place and it is available to you each day.

4 KUSD / Bradford Athletic Forms and Fees 1. Athletic Code of Conduct Signed by player and parent 2. Emergency Card Signed by parent 3. Risk of Injury Acknowledgment Signed by player and parent 4. Proof of Medical Insurance 5. Physical cards If you had a physical last year and it is on file at Bradford, you do not need a new one. However, you must still fill out a Physical Alternate Year form. 6. Risk of Injury Fee - $3.25 Separate check made out to KUSD Athletics 7. Activity Fee - $50 per sport Separate check made out to KUSD Athletics 8. Golf Team Fee - $20 Separate check made out to Bradford Golf This fee helps us pay for practice time and equipment. However, each player will be given a Bradford hat and a USGA rules book from this fund. Fundraising We have a need for funds that assists the entire golf team. This money will go towards uniform shirts, team jackets, meals after tournaments, balls, and practice equipment. 1. ESPN the Magazine subscription 2 year subscription for $40 i. Bradford Golf keeps $30 2. Player s Pass Two for the price of one greens fees at over 1,000 courses sells for $20 i. Bradford Golf keeps $10 Incentives for top sellers free Player s Passes, money, pizza Each player must raise at least $100 for the team through the above fundraisers.
