Roll was taken verbally. Committee Goals for 2016: Hans presented the 2016 committee goals that were developed at the Business Planning Session a. Continue to increase the Illinois PGA s presences at the Chicago Golf Show b. Investigate establishing a presence at the Chicago Auto Show big audience, use relationship with Mercedes-Benz (National sponsor) c. Development of a public golf task force Patrick and Illinois PGA Members to focus on public golf and its needs d. Secure funding for purchase of a Foresight launch monitor convenience and opportunity to fulfill Member needs e. Film player development initiatives at the Chicago Golf Show and Chicago Wolves Chicago Golf Show a. Recapped needs for the Show and finalized set-up necessities. Chicago Wolves a. 3:00pm game on March 20 th expo will begin at 1:00pm b. Family Day c. Volunteer needs d. Scavenger hunt for juniors PGA Junior League Golf a. Registration will open soon. Discussed the new changes that can be found on PGA.org. Frank Chieppa will be the main point person for league formation and Catherine Wagner will be assisting with any needs moving forward.

2 Drive, Chip and Putt a. Registration is open at Illinois qualifying schedule can be found on as well as We will be hosting a DCP event alongside the Web.com Tour event at Ivanhoe Club in June. Meeting was adjourned at 10:00 a.m.

Roll was taken verbally. Revisited committee goals : a. Increase presence at the Chicago Golf Show in 2017 b. Creation of a Public Course Task Force headed by Patrick Lynch c. Secure funding for Foresight launch monitor PGA Junior League Golf a. 114 captains registered b. May 13 th Player Registration should close, to allow ample time for team kits to arrive c. Survey will be sent (June/July time frame) to determine why captains who registered did not field a team amongst probing for other feedback d. Track though out season what can be improved/changed? Drive, Chip and Putt a. Gave update on registration numbers to date 1,168 registrants Public Golf task force update a. Focus: How are specific programs as courses working Information gathering, programming, open-discussion, brainstorming opportunities

4 Chicago Golf Show recap/ideas for 2017 a. Reviewed participant numbers at all IPGA Village Stations and IPGA Booth b. Good set-up with booth closer to the Village c. Creation of database National is in the midst of putting together contact info d. More signage for prizes e. More/ different prizes Hole-in-one contest AQ for the winner to the Illinois Open or tournament alike f. Foresight relationship g. Shot clock worked well with 7 minute intervals h. Create leaderboard at the Closest to the pin contest to provide more interaction and excitement White board? i. DCP van presence parked next to booth and visible from the Village area j. Have more tv s available for viewing in village area Loop videos (PGAJLG, DCP, Tour clips, etc) k. Booth more giveaways/interactive things Dress it up l. Mini-golf area worked out well Figure out an easy way to capture kids information m. Go-pro video was a nice touch find more avenues to get more views n. Re-create CGS sub-committee in the Fall o. How do we increase volunteer support? p. Use the Fall meeting as a platform to push for volunteer needs q. Work to shorten volunteer shifts need double the volunteers to make this happen Chicago Wolves Game recap/ideas for 2017 a. 8,713 attendees, up from 7,720 in 2015 b. Putting only stations restraints from Allstate c. Would like to be able to have at least one full swing station - to include all age groups d. Creative ideas: Bag tags that look like hockey pucks Stress ball shaped like puck with IPGA Website info and JR. programming e. Chuck-a-puck, but with a foam golf ball or similar What other organizations can we get involved with, that would allow us to have a more interactive consumer experience Chicago Auto Show a. Carrie to reach out to National sponsorship person to find an in/contact b. Research to see if other Sections are involved with Auto Shows Open Discussion a. KPMG create buzz leading up to the tournament similar to what the Section did with the Skills Challenge and 2012 Ryder Cup Consumer activity encompassing women what can we do? Ideas: Girls HS golf team Women s college teams What s the potential hook for women, golf, and the KPMG b. Section Website add a find a course function

Drive Chip & Putt Championship Season Review: Overall, DC&P grew in the state of Illinois from 1,299 participants in 2015 to 1,495 participants in In 2016 our Section hosted nine (9) local qualifiers, two (2) sub-regional qualifiers and the Regional qualifier. o How do we decrease the no show rate o Survey ideas sent to participants as well as kids who registered, but no showed PGA Junior League Golf: Main points discussed: o 171 teams in 2016 o 1,950 players in Illinois o Average player per team more in 2016 than in 2015 o Important to grow more kids than the number of teams o 16-U growth potential o Player Development Workshop will be held December 12 &13 at Cantigny Golf PGAJLG specific meeting will follow the meeting on Dec. 13 Public Task Force o First meeting is scheduled for November 9 PGA Junior Championship 2017 o Continue to co-host with the Illinois Junior Golf Association o Promote the event more in 2017 (Web presence and fliers)

7 Chicago Golf Show: Dates for the 2017 Chicago Golf Show are February o Formed CGS sub-committee to start planning Adam Rosuck John McCartin Michael Wenzel Lloyd McWilliams Emily Brown Patrick Lynch Chicago Wolves Event: Patrick Lynch led the discussion in regards to planning for this year s Wolves event. o Meeting with Kevin Dooley end of October o How do we expose these kids to the next level (get them on the course). o Wolves Pro-Am idea Chicago Auto Show o February o Carrie has reached out to the ED of JDRF a connection from Birdies for Charity, to spark conversation with Auto Show Player Development Educational Programs for 2016/2017 o Women in golf ideas for LPGA in Chicago.
