We have had no interruption to carts or beverage carts since the completion of the project due to rain. We spent most of June putting up, and taking down ropes to protect the course from traffic damage. We now have sign placards in power carts to inform members and guests of the cart rules for the day. If there are no signs then carts can go wherever they please other than near greens and tees. There are three signs that may be used. The first is Cart Path and Rough Only, which is self-explanatory. The second is Cart Path Only on Holes 2-7. These holes are more wet and flat than the rest of the course. The third reads 90 Degree Rule. This means carts should stay on paths and rough until you reach your ball, drive out to it, and move directly back to paths or rough and continue down the golf hole. During wet periods there will be signs out on the golf course indicating the holes to remain on paths. The new mounds on the 7 th hole are in play and the ropes and signs have been removed. The fencing in the ponds of 2 and 6 have been removed. We are having signs made indicating the multitude of native wetlands plants that have been installed. The many families of ducks on the course are enjoying these ponds and the wet season. We have no geese nesting or spending the summer on the golf course. The new mounds on 2, and 13, and the old path on 6 have been seeded. These areas will be Ground Under Repair for some time until they mature. We have installed a Walking bridge on the sixth hole to shorten the distance for those carrying or pushing their clubs up the right side of the hole. Please keep power carts off this bridge. You will not make it across. Continued

2 We have caught up on mowing of rough, trimming, and edging bunkers recently and the course is beginning to shine. The aeration holes on the old greens have filled in and the greens are putting true. We will be working on small projects through the summer such as repairing collar edges, and old cart path areas. I would like to thank and acknowledge Peter Koop for his tireless work and care for Rossmere Golf Club. Peter loves this course, and his flowers. He is a valuable member of our team and does an amazing job of the flower beds, clubhouse area, and his passion, the 12 th hole. He works as hard as anyone at the course, and let s be honest, he isn t getting any younger. Thanks Peter! Just a friendly reminder to take sand bottles with you when you hit the course. Please replace or repair divots, rake sand traps, and fix ball marks. Enjoy the summer and the golf course. Thanks also to our Turf Care Team. They work hard and effectively every day to produce a quality product for a bargain price. Great Work Guys! Greg Mitchell Golf Course Superintendent A MESSAGE FROM THE GOLF PROFESSIONAL Hello Rossmere Members! It may be hard to believe, but June has come and gone and the dog days of summer are now here! I would like to start off by congratulating Team Rossmere on their big come from behind win in the Civil War event against St. Boniface. Everyone that played had a great time and both golf courses were in great shape and the food was fantastic at both places. This was the first year of many more to come where Rossmere squared off against St. Boniface in this annual event. We are looking at expanding the number of players for next year due to the success and number of players trying to qualify on an annual basis. Junior Opening Day took place on June 14 th where we had approximately 24 juniors participate and everyone had a great time. I would like to thank all those that donated prizes for the Junior Opening Day event because without your donations our young players will not be able to have the same positive experience so thank you. For the upcoming month, our member events include the Danny MacKenzie Tournament on July 3 rd, the Phoenix Scramble (formerly the Las Vegas scramble) on July 11 th and the Nine, Dine & Wine on July 18 th. Early in August our 2015 Club Championship will take place on August 1 st -3 rd. 2 Continued

3 The Phoenix Scramble will be a noon shot gun start on July 11 th. The main point of interest for all those NOT playing in the event, is that we will be having a 7:30am shot gun start on that Saturday morning that is open to ALL OAK and ASPEN members so that everyone can still have the chance to get their golf game in that day and still have the rest of the day to relax and enjoy the summer weather. For our Nine, Wine & Dine series, please remember to book your tee time and then make your reservation in the dining room with Domer or Kyla. When making your dinner reservation, please make sure you indicate that you are participating in the Nine, Wine & Dine and that you are teeing off at your time and they can help you make the reservation for a time that will work with the golf tee time. For the Club Championship weekend, this will be taking place on August 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd. We will putting up the sign-up sheets around the clubhouse this coming week so keep your eyes peeled. We would love to see as many people sign up as possible as this is fun event and will be a great chance for all of our members to play with other members that are of equal caliber. We will be putting up the weekend itinerary so you can see how the weekend will look and play out. We will be having the Horse Race on Saturday and a Junior Horse Race on Monday. If you are not sure what the weekend will entail, please feel free to contact the Pro Shop staff or me at swood@rossmere.ca and inquire. We have been working on the online booking engine for our web site and we really appreciate all your patience as we work through this. It looks like the end is in sight and we will be getting trained in the upcoming week and hopefully we will get this going very soon. Again we apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding. I would like to thank each of you for taking the time to have someone from each and every group to come in to the Pro Shop to check in so that our new staff can learn all of the names and put them to the faces so that we can better serve you. I would like to ask that everyone continues to come in to the Pro Shop to check in so that we can continue with our learning process. With our tee sheet program, I would like to ask that in the event that you are not coming out to play and you have been on the tee sheet that you call or let the Pro Shop know that you are not coming out so that we can remove your name from the tee sheet. Thank you in advance as this will help us to keep proper records and help us to make the decisions that will best represent the members of Rossmere Golf & Country Club. Also, just a reminder that Golf Manitoba will be having a 100 th Anniversary Celebration Raffle to help raise money for all of their programming. Tickets will be $50 each and the grand prize is over $10,000 worth of golf at participating golf clubs around the city and province. The biggest incentive for us at Rossmere is that the more tickets we as a club 3 sell the better chance we have to win the sellers prize which is approximately $12,500 which could go towards the operation of our junior program or other grow the game initiatives.

4 So please if you are interested in purchasing a ticket or sell any tickets please make sure you put Rossmere down as the selling club so that we may increase our chances of winning that prize. Applications to purchase tickets can be picked up in the Pro Shop once we are up and running. We are continuing with our Fantastic Fridays promotion where we have been doing the following: Amped up service for that day including bag drop for all that play. Happy hour pricing in the Squirrel & Birdie Pub from 4pm-6pm. Complimentary appetizers in the Squirrel & Birdie Pub from 4pm-6pm. Also, as an addition to the Fantastic Fridays, we will be wearing our red shirts to make it a red shirt Friday in honor of our Canadian Military. So please come out and celebrate Fantastic Fridays with us at Rossmere and see why being a member has its privileges! Many of you may have started to notice some areas of your golf game that may need a little help or some guidance. 6 MEMBERSHIP NEWS Believing that our current members are Rossmere s #1 public relations medium; the Board of Directors is continuing to offer current members a $50 house account credit for every new member that they recruit. Thank you to all of the members who participated in the Member/Guest Day on Friday, May 1st. This event turned out to be a huge success and membership is easy to sell when we can sell the fantastic people at Rossmere! 2015 Loyalty Program Thank you to all of the members who participated in the 2014 Loyalty Program. The 2015 Loyalty Program began on November 1st; please make sure you redeem your accumulated Loyalty Dollars before the season ends on October 31st, Your accumulated points can be found at the bottom of Dining Room receipts. Food & Beverage Hours of Operation Greenview Dining Room Open weekdays at 7am Open weekends at 6am Kitchen closes 30 minutes after the last golfer is off the golf course. Office Hours: Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm Lord Wolseley Elementary School is marking 100 years of learning on Sept. 24, 2015 and would love to see former students, staff and community members join them for the celebration. An open house runs from 5 to 8 p.m., with a formal program at 6 p.m. For more information call the school at or lw@retsd.mb.ca John Pritchard School celebrates its 100th anniversary Oct 8, 2015 and extends an invitation to all former students, staff and community members to attend the festivities. An open house will be held from 1-3 p.m. and 5-8 p.m., with a formal presentation at 7 p.m. The school is currently gathering stories, photos and memorabilia to display in commemoration of John Pritchard's 100 years of learning. 7 A MESSAGE FROM THE FOOD & BEVERAGE MANAGER The month of June was a busy one for the food and beverage side. With an abundance of events and tournaments, our team was really put to the challenge. Weather was on our side for the most part, and kept the club very lively all month. On the culinary side, you may have seen some changes to our menu, and there has been a positive response to the new menu items that Chef Marc has added. Chef and his team also threw in daily dinner features into their repertoire, and they have also been a hit. We also continued with our Fantastic Fridays, where the kitchen team whipped up passed hors d oeuvres every Friday from 4pm-6pm. Chef will continue to push boundaries, so expect a new menu launch in the near future. Our first Nine, Wine and Dine night brought out 70+ golfers/diners and nothing but rave reviews were said after the diners left. Our next Nine, Wine and Dine night (July 18, 2015) is already sold out, so make sure to reserve now for the next one in August. For those coming to the July 18 night, expect live music once again, and be prepared for a great dining experience as Chef Marc is creating a totally different menu for that evening. On the beverage side, our new wine list has been very popular as we offer 4 brand new wines by the glass, and have daily wine features. We also added new wines by the bottle, so come down and enjoy a glass (or bottle). For the wine lovers out there, we will be organizing our own Rossmere Wine Festival closer to the end of the summer, so stay tuned! The draught beer culture has immensely evolved here at Rossmere. With 5 beers on tap, along with one cider, our draught sales have increased significantly. Our newest edition on tap is Moosehead Lager. We also carry numerous craft beers now, so for the beer aficionados, stop in and chat with me about our new craft beer selections. A few weeks ago, I represented Rossmere Country Club and competed in the Made with Love cocktail competition. I was one of 16 Winnipeg finalists that competed. I managed to place 2 nd in the Judge s Choice Category, and 3 rd in the People s Choice category. One of my old employees one 1 st place, so he is now moving on to represent Winnipeg in the national final. It was an unbelievable experience and I wanted to thank those who came out to support. For those who couldn t make it, I will feature my cocktail in the Greenview Dining Room and Squirrel and Birdie Pub in the month of July. 7 Continued
