13 AMERICAN SADDLEBRED REGISTRY SWEEPSTAKES AMERICAN SADDLEBRED REGISTRY $144,359 $129,094 paid out in SWEEPSTAKES $144,359 paid out in 2014 The American Saddlebred Registry Two-, Three-, and Four-Year-Old Sweepstakes Program is designed to enhance the breeding, training and showing of the American Saddlebred horse. Entries in the Two-Year-Old Sweepstakes compete in the following classes: Fine Harness and Three-Gaited Park. Entries in the Three- and Four-Year-Old Sweepstakes compete in the following classes: Three- Gaited, Five-Gaited, Fine Harness, and Three-Gaited Park Pleasure. The Two- and Three-Year-Old Sweepstakes classes held at the All American Horse Classic in Indianapolis, Indiana, in September are conducted under the rules of the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF). The Sweepstakes differ from the ASR Futurity Program in that nominations for the sires, dams and weanlings are not required. The horse is nominated as a yearling to the Two- and Three-Year-Old Sweepstakes and is nominated to the Four-Year-Old Sweepstakes in its threeyear-old year. Another unique feature of the American Saddlebred Registry Sweepstakes Program is that the judge selection for the Two- and Three-Year-Old Sweepstakes is done by a vote of the Sweepstakes participants. Prize money is divided between the recorded owner at the time of the competition and the original nominator(s). Also, courtesy of the Kentucky Breeders Incentive Fund (KBIF), more than $500,000 has been awarded to breeders and sire owners of Kentucky-bred American Saddlebreds competing in the ASR Four-Year-Old Sweepstakes at the World s Championship Horse Show in Louisville, Kentucky.
