2.30 RACE 1 CHESHAM STAKES (Listed) (1) 2yo 80,000 7f (1410 Metres) page 2 of 10 Draw: Favours Mid Pace Information: Strongly Contested 1 16 ABANDON SHIP (IRE) kg Paul Cole Adam Kirby 80,000 gns yearling, Mastercraftsman colt. Dam winner up to 9f (2-y-o 6f winner). Stiff task on debut. 2 1 BARTHOLOMEU DIAS (30) kg Charles Hills Shaped well on debut at Goodwood (6f) last month, not knocked about. That race looks good form and he s open to improvement, though will do well to win this. 3 3 BUSTAM (IRE) (21) (BF) h kg John Quinn Gregory Benoist Has shown plenty in a couple of runs over 6f and longer trip will suit but doubt he s good enough to win a race like this. 4 7 GOLD TOWN (28) s kg Debut winner at Newbury (5f) in April and fair efforts since without really improving, finding less than looked likely fitted with cheekpieces at the Curragh last time HEY GAMAN (25) kg James Tate Andrea Atzeni Shaped really well on debut at Leicester (6f), giving odds-on Westerland all he could handle and going down by just a nose. Little between the pair again, both open to improvement HIGHLIGHT REEL (IRE) (23) kg Michael Bell Promising debut in 6f Lingfield event that has worked out, slowly away but keeping on well. Longer trip will suit LEARN BY HEART (29) kg William Haggas Daniel Tudhope Superbly-bred and made a promising start in 6f Haydock event last month, very much catching the eye once he was in the clear and finishing best. Open to significant improvement. 8 4 MASAR (IRE) (30) kg Looked a good prospect when winning 6f Goodwood contest on debut last month, picking his way through and leading line. Has scope for plenty of improvement and yard continues in fine form MATCH MAKER (IRE) (25) t kg Simon Crisford Seamie Heffernan Expensive Breeze-Up purchase who made an encouraging start in 6f Leicester event behind Westerland and Hey Gaman. Open to improvement fitted with tongue tie but his old rivals make more appeal OPTIMUM TIME (IRE) (26) kg Eve Johnson Houghton Charles Bishop Rare 6f winner for his sire Manduro when making successful debut at Windsor (6f), readily coming clear. That form hasn t really worked out but he looks sure to improve a lot WE ARE THE WORLD (33) kg Archie Watson Oisin Murphy Shaped well on debut at Redcar (6f), hampered final 1f but keeping on. That race has thrown up stacks of winners but he ll need to improve a ton to land a blow here WESTERLAND (25) kg John Gosden Improved from Newbury debut to win 6f Leicester maiden, lunging late to beat Hey Gaman by a nose. Open to further progress DI FEDE (IRE) (31) kg Ralph Beckett Richard Kingscote Didn t need to improve to land 6f fillies event at Kempton, getting up on the post. Longer trip will suit, but much more needed ELYSIUM DREAM (33) kg Richard Hannon Sean Levey Improved to win 6f Windsor event, still pretty green but relishing every yard of the longer trip. 7f will suit and can go on progressing NYALETI (IRE) (6) kg Mark Johnston John Egan Belied market weakness to make a successful debut at Salisbury (6f, firm) last week, showing a good attitude. Will be suited by longer trip SEPTEMBER (IRE) (16) (D) kg Aidan O Brien, Ireland Bred in the purple and looked something a bit special as she became the first Aidan O Brien-trained juvenile to win on debut this season at Leopardstown (7f) a fortnight ago. Obvious claims. 16 DECLARED RUNNERS 6-4 September, 15-2 Masar, 8-1 Nyaleti, 9-1 Westerland, 16-1 Hey Gaman, 25-1 Optimum Time, 33-1 Gold Town, 33-1 Match Maker, 33-1 Elysium Dream, 40-1 bar Aidan O Brien often targets this with a good one and SEPTEMBER, the only Ballydoyle juvenile to win on debut so far this season, and impressively so to boot, ticks all the right boxes. Masar created a fine impression at Goodwood and has scope for plenty of improvement also, while Leicester 1-2 Westerland and Hey Gaman are closely matched again and make some appeal for the places. 1. SEPTEMBER (IRE) 2. MASAR (IRE) 3. WESTERLAND 2016 Churchill f Aidan O Brien Suits You E. J. O Neill Cristian Demuro Richard Pankhurst John Gosden Berkshire Paul Cole Tha ir Saeed bin Suroor Frankie Dettori 14 2 Aidan O Brien s number of winners in past 10 runnings. (saddles: SEPTEMBER) 26% William Haggas s strike rate in the last 14 days (saddles: LEARN BY HEART) 21% s strike rate with horses running in races between 7f and up to 10f since the start of the 2012 season (saddles: MASAR and GOLD TOWN)

3.05 RACE 2 WOLFERTON HANDICAP (Listed) (1) 4yo+ (Rated 0-110) 80,000 1m1f212y (2000 Metres) page 3 of 10 Draw: Strongly Favours High Pace Information: Contested 1 11 SCARLET DRAGON (177) (D) h kg Eve Johnson Houghton Tom Marquand Capped highly progressive 2016 campaign with victory in valuable Newmarket handicap in October. Well held in Qatar during the winter, but that can be excused and he ll be a player if fully tuned-up AYRAD (IRE) (238) (D) kg Roger Charlton Placed 3 times in Group company last year and bagged 1¼m listed race at Sandown. Not at his best towards end of 2016, though, and looks vulnerable now pitched into a handicap for the first time ELBERETH (22) (D) kg Andrew Balding Oisin Murphy Listed winner at Nottingham last term and landed useful Dundalk minor event in March. Solid efforts in better company since, fourth in the Coronation Cup at Epsom last time, and she s not ruled out CENTRAL SQUARE (IRE) (49) (D) b 98 4/ kg Roger Varian Andrea Atzeni Improved in first-time blinkers when scoring at Doncaster in September. Creditable placed efforts both starts since in this sphere, including on Newmarket (9f) return, and he s one for the shortlist. 5 6 MUNTAZAH (42) s / kg Owen Burrows David Probert Encouraging fourth in Dante at York on return last year. Struggled in handful of runs since and passed over by here, but still worth a second look with cheekpieces applied on handicap bow. 6 3 KHAIRAAT (IRE) (44) (D) kg Sir Michael Stoute Winner of 2 of his 3 starts in 2016 and further progress when landing a 10.3f Chester handicap in good style on return last month. Now 13 lb higher in a tougher race, but he remains unexposed KIDMENEVER (IRE) (121) (D, BF) kg Five-time winner for various yards, including 1½m Swiss Derby last June. Shaped well both starts for new stable in Dubai this year and, still something of an unknown quantity, he has to be respected. 8 2 MAVERICK WAVE (USA) (224) (D) 98 6/ kg John Gosden Smart on his day and would be a big player off this mark if back to something like his best. However, well held in this 12 months ago and again failed to fire on the AW when last seen in November. 9 5 SNOANO (34) (D) kg Tim Easterby David Allan Paid his way in 2016 and looked better than ever when making a winning reappearance at Pontefract. Couldn t land a blow off this mark at Ripon last time, though, and vulnerable to less exposed types ALLEZ HENRI (IRE) (32) (D) s kg D. & P. Prod homme, France Aurelien Lemaitre Bagged couple of Chantilly handicaps (both on polytrack) last term. Good third in valuable minor event on the AW when returning to action in March, but finished last of 9 back on turf next time RESTORER (28) (D) kg William Muir Martin Dwyer Both wins gained on soft going, but has acquitted himself well in fast-ground 1½m listed contests here and at Goodwood the last twice. Dangerous to discount on this first foray into handicap company MYTHICAL MADNESS (9) (D) v kg David O Meara Daniel Tudhope Right back to form when runner-up in strong Epsom handicap on penultimate start. Strong at the finish when going one better at Haydock (1m) recently and, though 5 lb higher now, he has to be feared DRAGON MALL (USA) (24) h kg David Simcock Josephine Gordon Consistently shaped well last term and put in another decent shift when third off 1 lb higher mark back from a break at Nottingham (8.3f). Worth another go at this trip and each-way claims TUMBAGA (USA) (133) / kg Saeed bin Suroor Silvestre De Sousa Missed the whole of last season and little impact in couple of starts at Meydan earlier in the year. Fair bit to prove now MAJEED (14) (D) kg David Simcock Produced a clear personal best when landing a Class 2 Yarmouth handicap last summer. Several decent efforts in defeat subsequently, but rather disappointing back from a break at Newmarket recently PACIFY (63) (D) / kg Ralph Beckett Took little interest when tried in a visor in this race last year and absent thereafter in However, shaped well over inadequate trip on return at Newbury (1m) and he s not without hope. 16 DECLARED RUNNERS 4-1 Khairaat, 13-2 Kidmenever, 9-1 Central Square, 11-1 Elbereth, 12-1 Pacify, 14-1 Mythical Madness, 16-1 Dragon Mall, 20-1 Muntazah, 20-1 Snoano, 22-1 Scarlet Dragon, 25-1 Restorer, 25-1 Ayrad, 28-1 Tumbaga, 33-1 Majeed, 40-1 bar CENTRAL SQUARE shaped with plenty of encouragement when third on his reappearance over 9f at Newmarket. Roger Varian s charge will be sharper now and, with the step back up in trip and refitting of blinkers both positive factors, he s an appealing value alternative to likely favourite Khairaat. Kidmenever is also high on the shortlist, while Muntazah, Pacify and Restorer are each-way players. 1. CENTRAL SQUARE (IRE) 2. KHAIRAAT (IRE) 3. KIDMENEVER (IRE) 2016 Sir Isaac Newton Aidan O Brien Mahsoob f John Gosden Paul Hanagan Contributer Ed Dunlop George Baker Forgotten Voice Nicky Henderson Johnny Murtagh Gatewood f John Gosden 13 3 John Gosden s number of winners in past 10 runnings. (saddles: MAVERICK WAVE) John Gosden s profit with horses running after a break since the start of the 2012 season (saddles: MAVERICK WAVE) Eve Johnson Houghton s profit with horses running after a break since the start of the 2012 season (saddles: SCARLET DRAGON)

3.40 RACE 3 HARDWICKE STAKES (Group 2) (1) 4yo+ 225,000 1m3f211y (2410 Metres) page 4 of 10 Draw: N/A Pace Information: Contested 1 9 ACROSS THE STARS (IRE) (35) (CD) 94 22/ kg Sir Michael Stoute Olivier Peslier Won the King Edward last season and ended his 3-y-o campaign with a fine third in Great Voltigeur. Should be straighter for his Newbury return but needs to take a big step forward to figure here. 2 5 ARTHENUS (57) (C) s kg James Fanshawe Tom Queally Developed into a smart performer last season, winning a listed event at Saint- Cloud, but was well held on return at Sandown in April and looks up against it in this company BARSANTI (IRE) (28) (D, BF) kg Roger Varian Andrea Atzeni Progressed well in 2016, scoring 4 times in handicap company. Solid third in listed contest on return but in much deeper water here and makes limited appeal CHEMICAL CHARGE (IRE) (35) (D) kg Ralph Beckett Oisin Murphy Made successful return at Doncaster in April and fine effort in defeat in John Porter at Newbury subsequently. Ran poorly over same C&D last time, however, and it s easy enough to look elsewhere. 5 6 DAL HARRAILD (28) (D) kg William Haggas Pat Cosgrave Improved last season, rounding campaign off with Newmarket listed win over this trip in September. Upped his game further when taking York listed race last time and is one of the likelier contenders. 6 4 DARTMOUTH (36) (CD) 100 3/ kg Sir Michael Stoute Very smart performer who completed a hat-trick in pattern company when taking this race last year. Shaped as if retaining all his ability when landing Yorkshire Cup on return and holds obvious claims. 7 7 IDAHO (IRE) (22) (D) U kg Aidan O Brien, Ireland Seamie Heffernan Brother to Highland Reel who gained reward for his consistency when landing Great Voltigeur at York last August. Shaped encouragingly on return in Coronation Cup and has to enter calculations. 8 1 MUNTAHAA (IRE) (36) (D) kg John Gosden Dual winner last term and resumed progress this season with determined success in John Porter at Newbury in April. Ran as if amiss at York last time, though, and needs to bounce back MY DREAM BOAT (IRE) (35) (C) s kg Clive Cox Adam Kirby Game winner of Prince of Wales at this meeting a year ago, but been below that form in both starts this season and no surprise to see headgear now applied. Any rain would aid his cause PRIZE MONEY (22) (D) kg Saeed bin Suroor Translated very smart handicap form to Group 2 company when winning at Meydan in March, but was well held in Coronation Cup last time and has something to prove now SECOND STEP (IRE) (28) (D) kg Roger Charlton Very smart performer for Luca Cumani at his best but was a shade disappointing last season. Perked up for new yard this term, winning Goodwood listed race last month, but more demanded here STELLAR MASS (IRE) (76) (D) kg J. S. Bolger, Ireland Kevin Manning Smart colt who scored 4 times last year and shaped as if needing the run on return at Naas in April. Not seen since, though, and rather pitched in at the deep end now WESTERN HYMN (43) (D) s kg John Gosden Quirky sort who ended last campaign with success in listed race at Kempton. Picked up where he left off when taking Ormonde Stakes at Chester on return, but this looks much tougher WINGS OF DESIRE (311) (D) kg John Gosden Made great strides last season, taking Dante Stakes just 19 days after landing maiden at Wolverhampton. Below form when last seen in International at York in August, but is much respected on return. 14 DECLARED RUNNERS 9-4 Dartmouth, 13-2 Idaho, 7-1 Wings of Desire, 14-1 Muntahaa, 16-1 Prize Money, 16-1 My Dream Boat, 16-1 Across The Stars, 18-1 Second Step, 18-1 Western Hymn, 20-1 Dal Harraild, 28-1 Barsanti, 40-1 bar IDAHO made the frame in the English and Irish Derby before taking the Great Voltigeur at York last season, and looks set for a fruitful 4-y-o campaign judged on his pleasing return in the Coronation Cup. He makes plenty of appeal at likely odds. Last year s victor Dartmouth looks sure to put up a bold defence of his crown, whilst Wings of Desire is an intriguing contender on his return to action. 1. IDAHO (IRE) 2. DARTMOUTH 3. WINGS OF DESIRE 2016 Dartmouth Sir Michael Stoute Olivier Peslier Snow Sky Sir Michael Stoute Telescope f Sir Michael Stoute Thomas Chippendale Lady Cecil Johnny Murtagh Sea Moon f Sir Michael Stoute 12 6 Sir Michael Stoute s number of winners in past 10 runnings. (amongst 2 runners saddles: DARTMOUTH) 2 Aidan O Brien s number of winners in past 10 runnings. (saddles: IDAHO) John Gosden s profit with horses running after a break since the start of the 2012 season (saddles: WINGS OF DESIRE)

4.20 RACE 4 DIAMOND JUBILEE STAKES (Group 1) (1) 4yo+ 600,000 6f (1210 Metres) page 5 of 10 Draw: Against Low Pace Information: Contested 1 11 ACLAIM (IRE) (35) (C, D) kg Martyn Meade Successful 4 times in 2016, culminating with Challenge Stakes at Newmarket. No impact when sixth to Ribchester in the Lockinge but a strongly-run 6f should suit. Tongue tie omitted. 2 6 COMICAS (USA) (38) (D) b kg Made all in 6f Meydan handicap in February. Superb effort when runner-up in Dubai Golden Shaheen the following month and turf return at York was encouraging, though this is asking a lot. 3 7 FINSBURY SQUARE (IRE) (20) (D) b kg F. Chappet, France Olivier Peslier Smart performer, successful in 2016 in Prix de Saint-Georges and Prix de Meautry, both at Deauville. Added to tally in minor company on return and ran right up to form when second in a Group 2 latest GROWL (14) (CD) s kg Richard Fahey Paul Hanagan Transformed by this yard in 2016, wins including listed race at Doncaster as well as finishing second in Ayr Gold Cup and the Group 1 Champions Sprint (C&D). Soft-ground 7f too much of a test latest. 5 8 KACHY (28) t kg Tom Dascombe Richard Kingscote Two of 3 wins have come at Chester, though as good as ever when length second to Quiet Reflection in the Commonwealth Cup a year ago. Recent efforts showcase limitations at top level. Tongue tie on LIBRISA BREEZE (252) (C) 96 12d/ kg Dean Ivory Robert Winston Very progressive over 7f/1m last term, winning 3 times, including a career best in handicap company here in October. Unable to pull off usual hold-up tactics in the Champions Sprint and absent since LIMATO (IRE) (91) (CD) / kg Henry Candy High-class performer who was better than ever over sprint trips in 2016, winning the July Cup and Prix de la Foret at Chantilly (second in Nunthorpe too). Meydan run excused and he s the one to beat LONG ON VALUE (USA) (91) (D) t kg William I. Mott, USA Joel Rosario Smart performer who won listed race at Saratoga in 2016, but improved on B that when nose second to The Right Man in Al Quoz Sprint at Meydan last time. Needs to progress again MAGICAL MEMORY (IRE) (38) (D) 96 13/ kg Charles Hills Won Abernant Stakes and Duke of York Stakes last term, and not seen to best effect when fourth in this race. Went backwards afterwards, but reappearance second at York was encouraging MOBSTA (IRE) (28) (D) v kg Mick Channon Established as a smart performer, especially over 6f with give underfoot, but he s not up to this level. Sports first-time visor SUEDOIS (FR) (28) (D, BF) v kg David O Meara Daniel Tudhope Two lengths second to Limato in the July Cup and best of prominent racers when third to Quiet Reflection in Sprint Cup at Haydock in Not at that sort of level both starts in May and now visored TASLEET (38) (D) s / kg William Haggas Much improved in first-time cheekpieces when winning Duke of York Stakes in ready fashion last month from Magical Memory (The Tin Man fifth). Still unexposed but this a different set of circumstances THE RIGHT MAN (91) (D) 93 2/ kg D. Guillemin, France F. Bertras Prolific in France, wins last term including Prix de Seine-et-Oise at Maisons- Laffitte. Better than ever when winning Al Quoz Sprint at Meydan in March by nose from Long On Value. One to consider THE TIN MAN (38) (CD) 98 14/ kg James Fanshawe Tom Queally Beat only one home in this race 12 months ago, but produced career best when winning most recent Champions Sprint Stakes by a length over this C&D. Bound to step up on Duke of York fifth on return TUPI (IRE) (38) (D) kg Richard Hannon Sean Levey Took form to a new level when a decisive winner of 13-runner listed race at Doncaster in April. Behind several of these in the Duke of York Stakes since and hard to see him troubling the principals WINDFAST (IRE) (65) (D) / kg Brian Meehan Silvestre De Sousa Suited by drop to 6f when bouncing back to best to land a Newmarket (July Course) listed event at the end of August. Unable to land a serious blow in the Abernant on April s return and absent since AL JAZI (IRE) (60) (D) kg Francois Rohaut, France Gregory Benoist French filly who coped with the drop to 6f when landing a listed race on April s return. Was value for a bit extra and strong pace will suit, but this looks too tough DANCING STAR (33) (D) kg Andrew Balding David Probert Looked a pattern-class filly in the making when landing the Stewards Cup last term. 5f was too sharp on return at Newmarket and she stepped up on that when second at Windsor, but this is a big ask KASSIA (IRE) (65) (D) 86 1/ kg Mick Channon Graham Lee Very progressive sprinter in 2016, winning 4 times in all at up to listed level. Shaped as though retaining ability when fourth in the Abernant but this is a very tough assignment. 19 DECLARED RUNNERS 7-2 Limato, 6-1 The Tin Man, 8-1 Tasleet, 9-1 Magical Memory, 14-1 Librisa Breeze, 16-1 The Right Man, 22-1 Suedois, 22-1 Growl, 25-1 Long On Value, 25-1 Dancing Star, 28-1 Aclaim, 28-1 Kachy, 40-1 bar LIMATO s Prix de la Foret success last autumn is the best piece of form on offer, and with a strongly-run 6f on quick ground probably his ideal conditions, this likeable 5-y-o has to be the call. It would come as no surprise were The Tin Man to emerge as the best of those who raced in the Duke of York last month, while Suedois could be a lively outsider sporting a visor for the first time. 1. LIMATO (IRE) 2. THE TIN MAN 3. SUEDOIS (FR)

Fair fourth in 7f Haydock listed event on return and strong-travelling suggests this drop to 6f could suit INTISAAB (33) (D) s kg David O Meara Shelley Birkett (3lb/1kg) Consistent and progressive last season, and made winning start to 2017 at Ripon (6f). Wold have finished closer with a clearer run when fifth in Windsor listed event latest and remains in good form BUCKSTAY (IRE) (266) (C) s 94 8/ kg Peter Chapple-Hyam A regular in the top 6f/7f handicaps, finishing a good fifth in this race 12 months ago. Ran very well on reappearance in 2015 and 2016 so length of absence isn t too big a concern DUKE OF FIRENZE (7) (D) kg David C. Griffiths David Allan Better than ever this year, winning at York and close third in Epsom Dash. Easy to ignore last week s run at Musselburgh (poorly positioned after fluffing start). Effective over 6f DONJUAN TRIUMPHANT (IRE) (56) (D) kg Andrew Balding David Probert Smart Group 2 winner at his best for Richard Fahey. Better effort for new stable when 6¾ lengths third in Leicester listed event in April but it s a long way short of his peak form LANCELOT DU LAC (ITY) (71) (D, BF) kg Dean Ivory Robert Winston Smart gelding who bagged a listed race on AW earlier in the year. Down the field on all 3 turf runs last year but the fact he was third in this in 2015 clearly provides hope RAUCOUS (33) (D) b kg William Haggas Fine third in Stewards Cup last year. Landed AW minor event on return and good fourth in Windsor listed event since. Blinkers replace cheekpieces. Top trainer/ jockey combination took this in BIRCHWOOD (IRE) (42) (D) b kg Richard Fahey Smart 2-y-o and won 7f listed event at Chester last season. However, below par in couple of listed events so far this season and others arrive with more obvious claims. Blinkered first time SQUATS (IRE) (42) (C, D) s 95 24/ kg William Haggas Georgia Cox (5lb/2kg) Losing run stretches back to 2014 but thereabouts in couple of similarly hot handicaps here last year, albeit over 7f. Presumably needed run when down field in Victoria Cup on return. Cheekpieces on EASTERN IMPACT (IRE) (48) (CD) kg Richard Fahey Paul Hanagan Group 3 winner over C&D in autumn 2015 and suggested he could be heading back to that sort of level when second of 14 to stablemate Mr Lupton in 6f Newmarket handicap last month. Respected BOOM THE GROOM (IRE) (21) (D) kg Tony Carroll Adam Kirby Won at Glorious Goodwood and York s Ebor meeting last summer. Shaped well when sixth of 19 in Epsom Dash 3 weeks ago, finishing well having still had plenty to do entering final furlong OUTBACK TRAVELLER (IRE) (42) (CD) 98 0/ kg Robert Cowell Martin Harley Won this off 4 lb lower in Lost way later that year but satisfactory reappearance when midfield in 7f Victoria Cup here last month and this presumably been the plan all along DANZENO (28) (D) kg Michael Appleby Alistair Rawlinson (3lb/1kg) Drew a blank in 2016 but still posted a couple of smart efforts. Never landed a blow on York reappearance but this presumably the main target and has a good record over C&D. Well handicapped STEADY PACE (121) (C) kg Saeed bin Suroor Josephine Gordon Won UAE 2000 Guineas trial on dirt in 2016 and creditable in-frame efforts on turf in Dubai earlier this year. Looks on a competitive mark back in Britain SHANGHAI GLORY (IRE) (258) (D) 95 8/ kg Charles Hills Callum Shepherd (3lb/1kg) Winner of Curragh listed event when last seen in October. This a tough race for return but does have a progressive profile over 6f, having won 3 of last 4 starts over the distance PROJECTION (48) (D, BF) / kg Roger Charlton Kieran Shoemark (3lb/1kg) Potentially pattern-class sprinter who shaped well on each of his 3 starts in handicaps last season and had possible excuses when fourth on Newmarket return in May. On good mark if it all clicks EDWARD LEWIS (21) (D) kg David O Meara Josh Doyle (3lb/1kg) Generally progressive for John Gosden but taken form to a new level for this yard this term, winning twice over 5f. Unlucky not to finish closer when fifth in Epsom Dash latest. Needs considering POLYBIUS (133) (D) 91 38/ kg David Simcock Oisin Murphy Listed winner in 2015 and made a sound start for this yard in Dubai earlier in the year, reaching frame twice in 6f handicaps. However, will need to step up on those efforts if he s to go close here POYLE VINNIE (28) (D) s kg Michael Appleby Silvestre De Sousa Resumed winning ways at Southwell in January and showed he can be competitive off his mark on turf when third at York (5f) in May. Slow start offers an excuse for subsequent below-par run NORMANDY BARRIERE (IRE) (43) (CD) kg Nigel Tinkler Enhanced good record over C&D when landing 7-runner event last month. This undoubtedly a lot more competitive but this reliable sort should continue to hold his own FIRST SELECTION (SPA) (121) kg Simon Crisford Runner-up in French 2000 Guineas last year but has failed to recapture that level since, performing just respectably in Dubai in January/February. Drops in trip on return to Britain GEORGE DRYDEN (IRE) (42) (D) 95 14/ kg Ann Duffield Graham Lee Big-field 6f York handicap winner in September 2015 but proved hard to catch right last year. Possible he ll be sharper for last month s Haydock return but others arrive with less to prove.

5.00 RACE 5 WOKINGHAM STAKES (HERITAGE HANDICAP) (2) 3yo+ (Rated 0-110) 175,000 6f (1210 Metres) page 8 of G FORCE (IRE) (28) (D) 94 0/ kg A. P. Keatley, Ireland Daniel Sheehy (7lb/3kg) Drawn a blank since landing 2014 Haydock Sprint Cup but did show he can figure off this sort of mark when fourth in Ayr Gold Cup last autumn. Presumably needed run on reappearance MUNTADAB (IRE) (38) (D, BF) v kg Roger Fell Ended 2016 on a high, landing a big-field 6f Doncaster handicap. Returned with 3 excellent runner-up efforts this season and should continue to give a good account AMAZOUR (IRE) (42) (D) kg Ismail Mohammed Tom Marquand Useful AW performer who showed he s just as good on turf when third in Haydock minor event (6f, good to firm) 6 weeks ago. Looks on a workable mark OUT DO (14) (D) v kg David O Meara Daniel Tudhope Thirteen runs since last win in 2015 but well capable off this mark if things drop right for this hold-up performer, running on into creditable fourth at Newmarket latest CULTURATI (5lb/2kg ex) (14) (C, D) / kg Non Runner Clearly had a few issues but made an impressive winning return from a long absence at Newmarket (6f, good) a fortnight ago. Big player under penalty. NON RUNNER HARRY HURRICANE (7) b kg George Baker Trevor Whelan Often thereabouts in big-field handicaps, running right up to best when just edged out in Scottish Sprint Cup at Musselburgh (5f) last weekend. Likely to figure if as effective back at 6f CAPTAIN COLBY (USA) (36) (D) b 95 U kg Ed Walker Thomas Brown Landed the Portland at Doncaster last term and runner-up in listed contest on return there last month. However, comfortably held in couple of handicaps since and not hard to look elsewhere. RESERVE. 29 DECLARED RUNNERS 8-1 Outback Traveller, 9-1 Projection, 14-1 Raucous, 16-1 Edward Lewis, 20-1 Danzeno, 20-1 Amazour, 22-1 Eastern Impact, 22-1 Muntadab, 25-1 Buckstay, 25-1 Normandy Barriere, 28-1 Duke of Firenze, 33-1 Harry Hurricane, 33-1 Boom The Groom, 33-1 G Force, 33-1 Steady Pace, 33-1 Lancelot Du Lac, 33-1 First Selection, 33-1 Certificate, 40-1 bar DANZENO was third in a Group 1 when last seen over C&D in autumn 2015 and was still capable of smart form on occasions last year. His York return was presumably designed to put him spot on for this and he might be worth chancing off what could be a lenient mark. Projection, Edward Lewis, last year s winner Outback Traveller and Raucous, who has blinkers on for the first time, head the dangers. 1. DANZENO 2. PROJECTION 3. EDWARD LEWIS 2016 Outback Traveller Robert Cowell Martin Harley Interception David Lanigan George Baker Baccarat Richard Fahey George Chaloner (3) York Glory Kevin Ryan Dandy Boy David Marnane Pat Dobbs Richard Fahey s profit with horses running in first time headgear since the start of the 2012 season (saddles: BIRCHWOOD) Saeed bin Suroor s profit with horses running after a break since the start of the 2012 season (saddles: STEADY PACE) Simon Crisford s profit with horses running after a break since the start of the 2012 season (saddles: FIRST SELECTION)

5.35 RACE 6 QUEEN ALEXANDRA STAKES (CONDITIONS) (2) 4yo+ 80,000 2m5f143y (4360 Metres) page 9 of 10 Draw: N/A Pace Information: Contested 1 5 WINNING STORY (43) s 91 5U kg Saeed bin Suroor Silvestre De Sousa Sharper for return when landing all-weather marathon on Final s day at Lingfield (15.7f) in April. Good fifth in Grp 3 Ormonde Stakes at Chester (13.4f) and eachway claims up further in trip. 2 4 FIRST MOHICAN (45) h kg Alan King Josephine Gordon Far from disgraced when seventh in this race 12 months ago, and proved a model of consistency in defeat thereafter. Scored on AW in March and latest Chester Cup effort easily excused (poorly drawn) FUN MAC (GER) (45) t kg Hughie Morrison Useful performer who returned to something akin to his best when length third in last month s Chester Cup (faring best of those drawn in double figures). Player with a repeat here. 4 3 ORIENTAL FOX (GER) (28) (CD) kg Mark Johnston Joe Fanning Took this race 2 years ago and far from disgraced when fourth in follow-up bid 12 months ago. Record mixed subsequently but shaping up well over inadequate trips both starts this term. Player ARTHUR MC BRIDE (IRE) (15) t kg Nigel Twiston-Davies Thomas Brown Dual purpose performer who landed a 2m Goodwood handicap in the autumn. Held form well in handful of starts since, but he has his work cut out on these terms BIG THUNDER (623) (C) / kg Micky Hammond Adam Kirby Won 2m York handicap on debut for David O Meara in July Some promise in trio of hurdle outings for current connections last year but this quite a hot race on return from 7 months off EXCELLENT RESULT (IRE) (36) (C) s / kg Richard Spencer Stevie Donohoe Smart at best on the Flat for Saeed bin Suroor and good start over hurdles for new yard, scoring at Kempton (2m) in March. Respectable fourth back on AW latest, but trip here an unknown. 8 9 GRUMETI (37) (C) kg Alan King Fergus Sweeney 2015 Cesarewitch winner and cashed in on a handy mark back on the AW at Wolverhampton in March. Found life tougher against some younger rivals at York since and others make greater appeal here GUARD OF HONOUR (IRE) (64) b / kg George Baker Pat Cosgrave Useful at best but lightly raced nowadays and he didn t pose much of a win threat at Newbury (18f) in April. Best to look elsewhere MEDBURN CUTLER (13) s kg Paul Henderson John Egan Dual winner last year and looked as good as ever in trio of outings this term, twice a runner-up at Goodwood (2m) in recent weeks. However, he s another who has his work cut out on these terms MONTALY (45) 93 7/ kg Andrew Balding Oisin Murphy Had threatened to land a big staying handicap and duly produced a career-best effort to land Chester Cup (18.6f) on return in May. Even longer trip here within range and likely to remain competitive QEWY (IRE) (224) kg Useful jumper for John Ferguson who enjoyed a highly-productive second half of 2016 on the Flat with, landing 2m Australian listed event in November. Goes well fresh and shortlisted THOMAS HOBSON (4) (C) kg W. P. Mullins, Ireland Martin Harley Made up into a smart hurdler for current connections and duly proved his Flat mark lenient when storming clear in Tuesday s Ascot Stakes (20f). Clearly the one to beat if over those exertions VENT DE FORCE (30) / kg Hughie Morrison Largely below par since landing 2m Group 3 at Sandown in 2015, yet his return in that very race in May was not devoid of promise (possibly short of peak fitness). Entitled to come forward here HIS DREAM (IRE) kg Jonjo O Neill Showed much improved form when making it second time lucky in bumpers for Ellmarie Holden at Down Royal (2m) in May. Joined new yard for 60,000 subsequently but this a stiff ask on Flat debut MOTHERLAND (IRE) (29) kg Joseph Patrick O Brien, Ireland Donnacha O Brien Lightly-raced 4-y-o who made a mockery of his opening mark at Galway (12.4f) last July. Made the frame both starts this term up to 14f and longer trip may bring about more improvement OCTOBER STORM (30) (BF) kg Mick Channon Graham Lee Better than ever when making a winning reappearance at Goodwood (1¾m) in May. Finished with a flourish when third over 2m at that venue since, but this demands another jolt of improvement PARIS PROTOCOL (13) s 83 1/ kg Richard Hannon Good placed efforts up to 2m first 2 starts this term, though never really threatened at Goodwood (2m) last time and this likely to prove beyond him US ARMY RANGER (IRE) (22) kg Aidan O Brien, Ireland Looked destined for big things when second in the Derby last year. Things not gone to plan since, failing to build on Ormonde Stakes second when last of 10 in Coronation Cup (12f) latest. Up in trip SOIESAUVAGE (FR) (85) h+t kg Sophie Leech Trevor Whelan Winner on the level in France but set for a struggle judged on what she achieved over hurdles/on Flat for Gary Moore now starting out for new connections. 20 DECLARED RUNNERS 7-2 Thomas Hobson, 7-1 Qewy, 9-1 Us Army Ranger, 10-1 Motherland, 11-1 Oriental Fox, 11-1 Winning Story, 12-1 Fun Mac, 14-1 Montaly, 22-1 Vent De Force, 25-1 First Mohican, 40-1 bar THOMAS HOBSON couldn t have been more impressive when landing Tuesday s Ascot Stakes over slightly shorter, rapidly cutting through the field and bounding clear in the style of a fresh horse. He looks sure to go close if backing up quickly, with Oriental Fox, Qewy, who goes well fresh, and Montaly heading the dangers.
