We are very proud of our show and, as always, look forward to providing a top show and parties for the enjoyment of our exhibitors and guests. We would like to thank all who voted in the People s Choice Awards!! We received FOUR AWARDS for the 2016 show and we have been working ALL year to make 2017 even better!! Please see out ACTIVITIES PAGE in this prize list for a list of parties and events this week! We have made some changes we hope you will enjoy! We will be offering our Famous $25,000 50/50 Raffle. Each ticket is $100. Remember, if you sponsor a class, you will receive a raffle ticket for each $100 you donate. Please see complete raffle rules in the Prize list. 5 Tenth Annual Junior Exhibitor Art Contest For all Junior Exhibitors For the art contest this year, we are asking Junior Exhibitors to create a hat to wear AFTER the Thursday afternoon session. Entries must be completed prior to the show or by the beginning of the morning session Thursday, June 29 th This year, the theme is Kentucky Derby Hats The winner will be announced Thursday afternoon after the last scheduled class of the session. Junior Exhibitors will be invited into center ring wearing their hats and will be judged by the officials in the center ring. The top three Kentucky Derby Hats will be awarded as winners!! The Grand Prize Cash Awards Will Be: 1 st Place - $110 2nd Place - $60 3rd Place - $30 Best of Luck and Have fun!!!!! 5

6 EXHIBITOR INFORMATION Entries Close June 1, Entries postmarked after June 1, 2017 will be charged a post entry fee of $5.00 per class. Management reserves the right to cancel, combine or divide any class where it is deemed advisable and to reschedule any divided classes. Although post entries will be accepted until the start of a session, classes may be cancelled at the start of a session due to insufficient entries at that time. Cancelled classes cannot be reinstated. Management reserves the right to decline any entry and to return any entry fees b efore or during the competition without being l iab le for compensation. An agent may make entries for more than one owner, but each owner must be entered on a separate signed entry form. Each horse will be charged a $20 office fee. Daily programs are included with each entry. Entries are payable in US Funds only. A $25 fee will be assessed for all nonnegotiable checks. A billing fee of $50 will be added to all accounts that are not settled in full by the end of the show. STALLIONS: Stallions may not be entered in classes restricted to Junior or Lady Riders or Drivers. Junior Exhibitors are those who have not reached their 18 th birthday as of 12/1/2016. Adult riders and drivers in Amateur Classes must have current USEF Amateur Certification or apply for same in the show office. MORGAN ENTRIES: A copy of registration papers showing proof of ownership or proof of lease must be presented to the show office before the exhibitor number will be released. SADDLEBRED ENTRIES: A copy of registration papers showing proof of ownership or a copy of the registration papers with a certificate of eligibility to show issued by the American Saddlebred Horse Association (ASHA) must be presented to the horse show office before the exhibitor number will be released. All Owners & Trainers must be current members in good standing of the ASHA. UPHA CLASSIC eligibility form, with the fees listed, are available from the UPHA office ( ) The eligibility fee, which must be paid prior to showing in a UPHA Classic Class, is $50.00 if paid by 4/1/17 or $100 if paid after 4/1/2017. The $100 entry fee will be charged to every entry regardless of when they enter the class. REFUNDS: All entry fees will be refunded upon request prior to the closing date. After June 1 st, refunds will be made upon verification of a bona fide injury to horse, exhibitor or exhibitor s family, received or postmarked no later than June 27 th. The office fee and stall fee is retained for any scratched horse. A $25 fine will be assessed for failure to notify the Horse Show Office of a scratch before the start of the session. A $50 fee will be added to all accounts not settled in full by the end of the show. 6

7 Prize Money Checks will be mailed within 30 days after the show. Checks will be payable to owners unless other arrangements are made in the Horse Show Office. Six Ribbons awarded in all classes, except where noted otherwise. Exhibitors requiring an exception to these limits must make prior arrangements with Liz STABLING: ENTRIES wishing to be stabled together must complete a block stabling request. Please identify yourself by using the same farm or individual s name on the entry blank. Stalls added after the stabling chart is completed will be assigned in the closest available proximity to the original group. Permanent and temporary stalls, in permanent buildings, 10 X 10 with doors and concrete floors. Annex Stalls have dirt floors. Stalls in Main and DVM Barns $ Stalls In Dairy Barn $ Annex Stalls (attached to DVM Barn) $ Standing Stalls - No Doors- Main Barn $ No Initial Bedding Provided FIRE & SAFETY REGULATIONS: THE following must be adhered to in accordance with the rules of the NYS Fairgrounds and NY State: No Smoking in any building on the grounds. Fireproof materials must be used for all stall decorations. The main aisles of the barns must remain accessible at all times. Bedding material is not permitted on the aisle floors. CAMPERS: Camper parking is available for $ for the show. Water and electricity is available in all locations. Sewers are available in some locations. Campers requiring heavy duty power should ask for a location that will satisfy those needs. All campers must display a permit issued by the show office. DOGS: must be restrained on a leash or tied inside a tack room at all times. Loose dogs are subject to seizure by animal control. Exhibitors are expected to clean up after their dogs in a ll areas. 7

8 RING DIMENSIONS: Coliseum 108 X 236. Schooling ring 85 X 190. Both rings have sand surfaces. Additional Sand Warm-up Area In Dairy Barn. All vehicles must be parked in areas designated by management. No bicycle riding or roller blading inside any building. Minors who do not have a valid driver s license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind, including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles, on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver s license. The parent(s), legal guardians(s), or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from that operation. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule. Motorized Vehicles May Not Be Driven or Parked Inside the Barn At Any Time Every class offered herein which is covered by the rules and specifications of the current USEF Rule Book will be conducted and judged in accordance therewith. Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the advanced level, Dressage, Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A non-member may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions, and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a $30 show pass fee. Participants in the following classes are exempted from the requirements of this rule; 1) leadline; 2) exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4) classes for 4-H members; 5) walk/trot (exception: Friesian performance FR218) and academy classes (Academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA endorsed Reining Competitions; 8) Opportunity classes; 9) citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in good standing of their own National Federation; 10) USEA beginner novice division; and 11) assistant handlers in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding classes. EXHIBITOR S ATTENTION IS DIRECTED TO USEF RULES PERTAINING TO DRUGS AND MEDICATIONS. EXHIBITORS MUST DISPOSE OF SHARPS IN CONTAINERS PROVIDED THROUGHOUT THE STABLE AREAS. The Show Committee, its agents and employees assume no responsibility for any accident occurring to any exhibitor, groom, attendant, animal or equipment during the show. The Show Committee assume no responsibility for the loss of or destruction of any property, equipment or damages to or by animals exhibiting at the show while on the grounds or stabling areas. 10 PLEASE NOTE: The following Health Requirements MUST be met by all horses. A New York State Inspector will be in attendance at the Horse Show. A proof of a current Rabies Inoculation administered within 12 months of the current show dates and Proof of Influenza and Herpes vaccines within six months per USEF GR845 must be presented for each horse. HORSES STABLED IN NEW YORK STATE: Must present a Negative Coggins Test certificate dated in 2015 or Please attach a legible copy to your entry blank. HORSES STABLED OUTSIDE NY STATE: Must present a Negative Coggins Test certificate-dated SINCE 6/10/15. Please attach a legible copy to your entry blank. AND: a current Health Certificate-dated within 30 days of your arrival in N.Y. State-from your local veterinarian. CANADA: Health Requirements for our purposes are the same as for horses stabled outside New York State. POSITIVELY NO NUMBERS WILL BE ISSUED UNTIL APPROPRIATE HEALTH PAPERS ARE ON FILE IN SHOW OFFICE. TRAVEL INFORMATION The Syracuse International Horse Show is held on the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse, New York. Exhibitors from the West should use Exit 39 on the New York State Thruway (Route 90). Then follow Route 690 East to the Fairgrounds. Exhibitors from the East can use Exit 34A or Exit 39 on the New York State Thruway (Route 90). From Exit 34A follow Route 481 South to Route 690 West to the Fairgrounds. Exit 39 is closer to the Fairgrounds and is recommended. Exhibitors from the North follow Route 81 South. Follow signs to Route 690 West and exit Route 690 West at the Fairgrounds. Exhibitors from the South follow Route 81 North to Route 690 West. Use the Fairgrounds Exit from

32 USEF Cup Incentive Awards for Owners and Trainers United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) is again offering exhibitors in the Morgan and Saddlebred Divisions the opportunity to take part in a program that will provide an annual incentive award of $1,000 to the owners of the top horse that competes at USEF Cup competitions in their respective divisions. Additionally, the trainer of each horse will be awarded $500 for their efforts. In order for individuals to be eligible for this incentive program, they must be a USEF member and record their horse (annual or life) with USEF prior to competing at any competitions offering the USEF Cup designation. A horse can only earn points in the division in which it competes. All classes in each Division/Section (not just classes offered for Horse of the Year; exception: Equitation) will count toward points for this award.
