Important Show Information for 2017 Show season is upon us, and we have some exciting news to share with you! This year CDCTA is proud to offer a new way to compete with our club. Western Dressage combines the principles of traditional dressage with western working horse ideals. In addition we are also proud to announce we have added Lead Line Dressage. All rules and guide lines can be found on our website on the Links page (drop down from home page).. We will be looking for your feedback with our new classes. If well attended your board will consider adding to the yearend awards for We are also offering and extra jumping round. $10 will get you another jumping round in your division after the completion of your division. You will be able to purchase a ticket for this from the ring steward the day of the show. In addition we continuing to participate in the TIP, The Thoroughbred Incentive Program. Thoroughbreds who qualify will be eligible to earn a High Point or Reserve High Point award. This year our show dates will be May 14 th at Westbrook Hunt Club, July 16 th at Mystic Valley Hunt Club, and returning to Westbrook Hunt Club for our final show of the season on October 1 st. ( CDCTA ) on April 23, 2017 at Spring Valley Farm, Westbrook, CT. The Rider and his/her parents (if Rider is under 18 years of age) agree that CDCTA, Spring Valley Farm, the clinician Tim Malin and their agents, members, volunteers and assistants shall not be liable for, and agree to hold them harmless from, any accident, personal injury, death or property damage that may be sustained by any person or entity, including without limitation the Rider, as a result in whole or in part from the Rider s participation in the clinic. This agreement is binding on the Rider and his/her parents whether or not said accident, personal injury, death or property damage is due in whole or in part to the negligence of CDCTA, Spring Valley Farm, the clinician Tim Malin or any of their agents, members, volunteers or assistants. 8 Rules: Current negative Coggins and Rabies vaccination certificates are mandatory and must accompany entry. Current certificates will be kept on file for the year. The show will be run in accordance with USEA/USEF rules. Medical arm/wristbands are required for jumping classes. All competitors must wear helmets that are ASTM/SEI certified. Classes may be combined, split, or canceled at the discretion of management. Bit less Bridle optional: Must ride hors concours or HC * Please treat the grounds as you would your own property. Place all trash in designated containers. No alcohol or family pets. * Not eligible for CDCTA year-end awards. * Western Dressage Rules & Tests: SEE LINKS PAGE OF * Walk-Trot Lead-Line Open to riders 8 & under who have never competed in any riding class other than Lead Line. May show Traditional or Western Dressage. Riders are required to direct their own mounts. Handler s interference will be penalized. No covered stirrups allowed. A halter under or over the bridle is mandatory. Handler must be 14 years or older and dressed in neat, appropriate attire. Diagonals will not count. Side walkers are allowed without penalty for exhibitors 3 years or under. Grab straps are permitted, but usage is subject to penalty at the discretion of the judge. By making a small donation, sponsors will get their names and/or ads on our website and on display the day of the show. They will also get our thanks, as this will support our ribbons, prizes and more activities such as a Dressage team and scholarships for our members. Western Dressage, lead line dressage, a chance of an extra jumping round, and if you ride with a bit less bridle, you are able to ride HC. Our new divisions are not eligible for year-end awards in 2017, this is an experiment. We will be looking for feedback your feedback in the direction of these additions. If you have been a member for at least two years and have significant volunteer time at CDCTA events, then you may qualify for a scholarship. Name: Address: Jr /Adult Address Telephone: 1.
