INTRODUCTION This classification report gives a classification of structural steel members protected by Aestuver boards in accordance with the procedures given in EN :2007+A1: DETAILS OF CLASSIFIED PRODUCT 2.1 GENERAL The Aestuver boards are defined as boxed applied passive protection to steel members. In total 2 tests were carried out at the laboratory of Efectis Nederland in Bleiswijk, The Netherlands, on the following dates: Test 1: 02/10/2013 Test 2: 14/10/ DESCRIPTION The product is fully described in the test report no Efectis-R0343a Protection system The applied fire protection system consists of a single layer boxed protection of Aestuver board. All connections of the boards are created by staples. The cladding Aestuver boards is connected to noggings which consist of Aestuver board of dimensions 20 mm x 150 mm x distance between beam flanges (cladding more than 15 mm thick) 15 mm x 150 mm x distance between beam flanges (cladding 15 mm thick) The centre-to-centre distance of the noggings is 1250 mm. Scheme of the fire protection system is given in Appendix B Steel sections In total 2 loaded beams, 2 reference beams and 11 short I-section beams protected by Aestuver boards were tested. 3. 6 4.3 FIELD OF APPLICATION This classification is valid for the following end use of applications: Classes of fire resistance R 15, R 20, R 30, R 45, R 60, R 90, R 120, R 180, R 240 Design steel temperature 350 ºC θ a 750 ºC Permitted section factor range: Permitted protection thickness: 61.8 m -1 A m /V m -1 For section factors below the minimum permitted section factor the same protection thickness as that applied to the minimum section factor must be applied mm d p 52.5 mm Grades of steel: Any structural grade (S designation) according to EN (excluding S185); engineering grades (E designation) shall not be used; the results may be also applicable to fabricated sections The maximum beam web depth 331 mm + 50 % = mm Number of exposed sides 3 The distance of Aestuver boards from a steel member (tested distance 3 mm at the vertical sides and 10 mm at the lower flange of the beam): 0 mm to 53 mm at the vertical sides 5 mm to 60 mm at the lower flange with no change of fixing 4.4 LIMITATIONS This classification document does not represent type approval or certification of the product.
