2 EDITORIAL Saumur Voltige is 30 years old! Is this the age of maturity? When we look at the enthusiasm and youth of spirit with which the Comité Equestre approached this deadline to renew it, i doubt it a little bit... We started by changing places, taking the risk of leaving the «Manège des Ecuyers» and downtown Saumur to welcome in better conditions the vaulters and public, in order to make the show more up to their expectations. Then, we completed the program with a new category called «children», because the future of vaulting is theirs, and Saumur must also offer a showcase for the talent of tomorrow. Within few years, they will come to Saumur to study at the French pole like the elders and will bring back their medals. Finally, we decided to celebrate the event and ponctuate with a new evening. In did, a great night free show is offert on Saturday, March 31st, in wich «Le Cadre noir» will meet the vaulting world stars. The public will discover the magic OrstellA troup univer s, which has opened ressently its on cabaret at Fontaine-Guérin, nearby Saumur. At the invitation of the Comité Equestre de Saumur, everyone took part and agreed to join the adventure. The World Champion Jacques Ferrari, the French team coach Davy Delaire, the head squire of Cadre noir Patrick Teisserenc, his show manager Alain Laurioux and the all Orstella team, driven by the whirling Alexandra and Arnaud Macé! It is a great anniversary party that the Comité Equestre invite you in, a celebration based on meeting and sharing, a celebration of youth and generosity. A party that we hope you will enjoy, and will allow you to discover and appreciate even more this charming and beautiful equestrian sport. Happy anniversary and long life to Saumur Voltige! 3 AU UR30 years MARCH 29 TO APRIL 1, 2018 ECOLE NATIONALE D ÉQUITATION - CADRE NOIR FREE ENTRY & FREE ADMISSION Saumur Voltige celebrates its 30th anniversary in Historically organized in the Manège des Ecuyers (Ecole Militaire de Saumur), Saumur Voltige moves to Ecole Nationale d Equitation for its 30th edition. The conditions of reception being no longer favorable (in the Manège des Ecuyers) regarding the Equestrian International Federation s rules, we obviously decided to relocate the event to the ENE site. Moreover, this change of location give us the opportunity to welcome more people. Every year at the Manège des Ecuyers, we had to refused spectators because of the limited number of seats in the grandstand. Of course, we would like to sincerely thank the Ecole Militaire de Saumur for the collaboration we have had on this event over the past 30 years. THE ENTRIES Needless to say, the greatest world vaulters will be present during this weekend, which will allow them to qualify for the upcoming World Equestrian Games in Tryon (USA) this summer. 10 nations are already registered, the definites entries are on March 14,2018. (United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, Australia, Mauritius, Mauritius, Switzerland, Netherlands, USA, Slovakia and France). More than 300 vaulters expected a record for this 30th edition! Juniors and seniors, female, male, squad, duets, they all will dress up their finest costume to amaze you this year again! FREE TEST : The free event highlights the artistic and creative side of the vaulters. Entirely unfurled in music, is very much appreciated by the public because it reflects a story told by the vaulters and reveals their personality. This program is graded according to technical and creative criteria with a special rating given to the overall impression that has emerged from the performance. COMPULSORY TEST : The compulsory test is based on precise criteria in terms of scoring and execution. The six figures were created by the military school and must be executed in a given order. TECHNICAL TEST : The technical test consists in five obligatory figures, which the fielder performs in the desired order. During this event, scoring is a subtle mixture of a free event, where the vaulters player is scored on flexibility, coordination and relaxation, and an imposed event. Where more technical criteria are taken into account. This event is made in music, in individual.
