You will be asked to complete a relay with obstacles. No horses needed. May the best team win! How can those not entered still get in on the fun? You have an opportunity to bid on the winning team! 8 AHA MEMBERSHIP STATEMENT GENERAL INFORMATION PLEASE REFER TO GENERAL RULES for more information pertaining to all shows. EACH COMPETITOR (THIS INCLUDES AT LEAST ONE RECORDED OWNER AND ALL TRAINERS, DRIVERS, RIDERS, HALTER HANDLERS, COACHES AND THE PERSON(S) SIGNING THE ENTRY BLANK) IN AN ARABIAN HORSE ASSOCIATION RECOGNIZED ARABIAN DIVISION, AT THE TIME OF ENTRY INTO A COMPETITION, MUST SUBMIT A COPY OF A VALID AHA MEMBERSHIP/COMPETITION CARD, JOIN AHA OR PAY AN AHA SINGLE EVENT MEMBERSHIP FEE PER COMPETITOR. WHEN AN AGENT SIGNS FOR THE OWNER AT AN AHA RECOGNIZED COMPETITION, BOTH THE OWNER AND AGENT MUST BE MEMBERS OF AHA OR PAY THE AHA SINGLE EVENT MEMBERSHIP. SINGLE EVENT MEMBERSHIP IS NOT ACCEPTABLE AT AHA REGIONAL OR NATIONAL COMPETITIONS. EXHIBITORS IN WALK-TROT CLASSES ARE EXEMPT FROM AHA MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS AT QUALIFYING COMPETITIONS, BUT MUST HAVE AN AHA MEMBERSHIP WITH COMPETITION CARD AT AHA REGIONAL AND NATIONAL COMPETITIONS. EXHIBITORS IN LEAD LINE CLASSES OR PARENTS/GUARDIANS SIGNING FOR MINORS ARE EXEMPT FROM AHA MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS. (BOD 5/12) PLEASE NOTE: AHA Competition Level membership is required for showing at the Regional show. This would include Walk/Trot Classes. Leadline is exempt. WHEN A FARM, RANCH, SYNDICATE, PARTNERSHIP, CORPORATION OR OTHER BUSINESS ENTITY LISTED AS RECORDED OWNERS ON THE REGISTRATION PAPERS, THE SAME AHA MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED PARENTS SIGNING THE TRAINER LINE FOR JUNIOR EXHIBITORS NEED NOT BE A MEMBER, HOWEVER THEY MUST SIGN PARENT NEXT TO THEIR SIGNATURE. USEF MEMBERSHIP - Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A nonmember may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a $30 Show Pass fee. Participants in the following classes are exempted from the Requirements of this rule: 1) leadline; 2) exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4) classes for 4-H members; 5) walk trot (exception: Friesian performance FR218) and academy classes (academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA Endorsed Reining Competitions. 8) Opportunity classes, 9) citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in good standing of their own National Federation, 10) USEA beginner novice division; and 11) assistant handlers in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding classes. BOX SEATS: Box seats are available for the duration of the show. Reservations may be made on the entry form. CAMPERS & TRAILERS: There will be a $ charge per hookup and must be in designated areas only. Camper sticker must be easily visible. The Big E does NOT count the hours for camper spots, if you arrive on a half day and leave the following day, you will be charged 2 days. MOTORIZED VEHICLE STATEMENT: Minors who do not have a valid driver's license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind, including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles, on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver's license. The parent(s), legal guardian(s), or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from that operation. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule. 9 DIRECTIONS: From points south, take interstate 91 north to Springfield, to route 5 on Columbus Ave., go over the second bridge which is Memorial Bridge, at Rotary take Memorial Ave. (Rte 147), you will be making a left turn into Eastern States. From points east or west, take Mass Pike (interstate 90) you get off at interchange 4 and go south to Route 5, down Riverdale St to the West Springfield Rotary, go right on Memorial Ave (Rte147), you will be making a left turn into Eastern States. From points north, take interstate 91 or 5 south to the West Springfield Rotary, go right on Memorial Ave, you will be making a left turn into Eastern States. DOGS: All dogs must be kept on a leash, and a handler must be on the other end of the leash. NO dogs are allowed in the Coliseum. C Barn Warm up stone dust LEGION OF HONOR, RETIREMENT AND ANY OTHER CEREMONIES: Requests for ceremonies require a $50.00 deposit. Reservations must be submitted no later than the closing of entries and are limited to 15 minutes in length. PARTY AND ALCOHOL REGULATIONS: Any exhibitor hosting a function at the show must first get the approval from the show management. All alcohol must be purchased from Colly s Corners (Eddie Shore Enterprises, Inc., the official food and beverage vendor for the Show) and bartender service must be provided to prevent minors from being served alcohol. AWARDS/PRIZE MONEY: Championship class prize money is $50. Awarded as: First Second Third Fourth Fifth Sixth $20 $10 $5 $5 $5 $5 Classes with fewer than four (4) horses will pay First Place prize money only. AWARDS/TROPHIES: All qualifiers will be awarded a trophy as indicated. SHOWING OUT OF TRAILER: Showing horses from a trailer and/or van is permitted. No horses will be allowed to remain in the trailer or van overnight. Fee: $35.00 per day OFFICE HOURS: Thursday, 10am - 8 pm. The show office will open each show day ½ hour before classes start and close ½ hour after each the last class of the evening. On Sunday, it will remain open until ½ hour after the last class. WARM UP RING There is to be no lunging or long lining in the warm up or holding ring when classes are in session. PROTECTIVE HEADGEAR All exhibitors in over fences and Hunt Seat Equitation classes must wear a helmet passing ASTM testing standards. ALL junior exhibitors riding anywhere on the grounds must wear protective headgear with harnesses buckled or they will be prohibited from riding anywhere other than the show ring. Adults are encouraged to comply with this safety rule. NYS requires parents or guardians to abide by the law requiring anyone under the age of 14 to wear a helmet. A law Officer can assess a fine to the parent or guardian not abiding by this law.

10 SHARPS/MEDICAL WASTE: State rules will supersedes USEF (USAE) sharps rule. Where applicable medical waste must be disposed of in marked containers, any needles etc, found in stalls will be subject to a $ fine. IDENTIFICATION NUMBERS: Every horse in the show will be assigned an exhibitor number and this number must be worn by the exhibitor when the horse is being shown. Any exhibitor using the wrong number on not having a number may be excused or disqualified. MANURE: Must dumped in designated areas ONLY. Anyone found dumping into empty stalls, undesignated areas or on the grass, will pay an additional fee. PARKING and UNLOADING: Parking and unloading MUST be in designated areas only. All improperly parked vehicles will be towed away at owner's expense. PROFESSIONAL SERVICES: Any professional service or consultation performed by the Show Veterinarian and/or Farrier for exhibitors outside the show ring will be upon a private fee basis. 11 ENTRIES AND FEES ENTRIES CLOSE May 8, No entries accepted by phone. Payment in full must accompany entries. Entries received with checks for partial payment, post date checks or open checks or no payment will be treated as late entries and subject to late fees. CANADIAN EXHIBITORS: Canadian exhibitors must pay in US funds either by money order or check drawn on a US Bank. INSUFFICIENT FUNDS: Checks returned by the bank for any reason will be charged 10% of the face value of the check or $50.00, whichever is the greater amount. REFUNDS VET or DR Full refund, less office fee before closing date. After closing date, a Veterinarian or Doctors certificate must be in the Show Secretary's hands before THE CLOSE of the show. Stalls fees, Office fees are NOT refundable Fees are only refundable if the horse is fully vetted out of the show before the show begins, is not on the grounds, and is compliance with the show policy. NO REFUNDS ONCE CLASSES COMMENCE. In the case where a horse has been entered and not shown all fees will be forfeited. POST ENTRIES Post entries for additional classes will be accepted as follows; Morning classes by 9:00 pm the evening before Afternoon classes by 11:00 am Evening classes by 4:30 pm. ***After the above times you may enter a class with a late fee plus the entry fee. If a horse/rider shows in a class for which it is not properly entered, the exhibitor will be charged a double entry fee. SCRATCHES: The office or in-gate must be notified if a horse does not intend to show and a class scratch form must be filled out at the show office. Failure to do so will result in a $25.00 fine SPLIT CLASSES: Driving classes with more than 8 entries and Jr Exhibitor classes with more than 18 will be split into two sections to be judged individually and two sets of ribbons and awards will be given. W/T/J classes will be split by discipline if entries warrant, decision of Show Manager and Show Committee. SHOW ACCOUNTS An open account may be started at the show for post entries only if a signed, blank check payable to AHCC is left on file at the office. If a posted class is charged to the exhibitors account, and is later scratched, the exhibitor is still responsible for payment of that class. Even exchanges for posts and scratches will be allowed, provided they are done at the same time and is the same owner or payee. 12 STABLING AND ARRIVAL INFORMATION Stall reservations forms must be filled out & returned. Stalls will be assigned using this form. Only one form required per group wishing to be stabled together. Stalls will be available starting at noon on Wednesday May 26. Anyone arriving before this time including decorators will pay an additional fee to cover additional insurance and other costs incurred by AHCC ASSIGNMENTS OF STALLS WILL BE DONE ON A FIRST POSTMARKED BASIS BUT IS ALSO THE PREROGATIVE OF SHOW MANAGEMENT There are 620 permanent box stalls with permanent doors. RABIES VACCINATION Proof of current Rabies vaccination is strongly recommended. HEALTH CERTIFICATES OUT OF STATE HORSES 1. Health Certificates within 30 days. BRING WITH YOU INTERSTATE HEALTH CERTIFICATES State law requires a health certificate for horses Traveling between state lines. Certificates must be on the approved state form and must list the origin and destination of the transported horse(s). The HC must show a temp recording, and show that the equine(s) are negative to a USDA approved test for Equine Infectious Anemia (Coggins) and identify the lab performing the EIA test, the accession number and the result of the test and the date the sample was drawn. HC are good for 30 days from date of issue. 2. Proof of Current Negative Coggins Test dated within 1 year of date of show IN STATE HORSES 1. Proof of Current Negative Coggins Test within 1 year of show *USEF rule GR845 requires that horses entering competition grounds must be able to provide documentation of vaccination for Equine Influenza and Equine Herpes (Rhino pneumonitis). THE FOLLOWING ARE RULES THAT APPLY TO ALL BARNS AND THE ENTIRE SHOW GROUNDS. We hope common courtesy and common sense will prevail. Remember safety is a primary consideration. 1. No smoking is allowed in the barns or in the coliseum. 2. Fireproof material must be used for all stall decorations, No live trees,(unless potted) wreaths, roping, etc. 3. The center Aisle of barns must remain clear. a. Aisle displays are not to exceed: Main aisle 30 from each side, side aisles- 24 from each side b. No accumulation of litter or rubbish allowed. c. All exits shall be kept free and unobstructed. d. All fire lanes and other means of access for emergency vehicles shall be kept free and clear at all times. e. All fire extinguishers, fire pulls and fire alarms stations shall be free and clear of obstructions and readily visible in their designated locations. 4. Bedding material and the like are not allowed on the floor of any aisle. This would include wood shavings, wet sawdust, peat moss, fine ground wood mulch, etc. large wood chips or coarse bark mulch may be used, but must be kept damp at all times. No coverings over aisles, which would in any way limit the effectiveness of the sprinkler system. 5. No graffiti in barns or stall. You will be billed for any type of damage. 6. Dogs must have current rabies vaccinations. Refer to each show for additional rules 7. No children are allowed on the rail in the coliseum. 8. No motorized vehicles of any type including bicycles, skateboards, roller blades, scooters, golf carts or mopeds are allowed in the barns, practice areas or any normal route used by horses. Any violation will result in the immediate impounding of the vehicle until the conclusion of the horse show. 9. No one under the age of 16 is permitted to drive a motorized vehicle on the grounds unless they have a permit or valid drivers license in accordance with the states registry of motor vehicle law. This regulation includes golf carts and mopeds All children 12 years and under must wear a helmet when riding a bicycle. 11. No rollerblading or skateboarding will be allowed on the Eastern States Exposition grounds. 12.
