1 2017 Show Package Memberships: What you will need to show (please ask if you need help finding these memberships) FUN SHOWS - Ontario Equestrian Federation HIGHLY recommended BRONZE CIRCUIT - Equestrian Canada Bronze - Ontario Equestrian Federation SILVER CIRCUIT - Equestrian Canada Silver - Ontario Equestrian Federation - Trillium Hunter Jumper Association o Eastern - Horse Passport (not needed for Hack Division) GOLD CIRCUIT - Equestrian Canada Gold - Ontario Equestrian Federation - Ontario Hunter/Jumper Association - Federation Equestre Quebec - Horse Passport DRESSAGE SHOWS - OADG membership only needed for points - Silver EC silver, Passport, OEF, Cadora (OADG) Once you have received all your required memberships please provide a PAPER COPY of them to Marilyn. This is important for us to have on file. We do recommend that anyone riding gets an OEF regardless of showing this provides personal liability coverage.

2 Trailering: - Lone Wolf Horses must be on an approved trailer. - Cost will be as follows for trailering (these costs are based on trailers being full and are Lone Wolf prices) *PLEASE note that if we require to get outside trailering we cannot guarantee the prices at this time, but will do our best to find the best reasonable prices. o $120 + HST for local Bronze, local Silver and Dressage Shows - Please discuss for prices to Gold Quebec shows Coaching and Grooms: Coaching for shows will be provided by Sorina, Kelsey, Kasey and Liz. We can also arrange with one of our coaches to show your horse (s) if needed. Tara Piepers has also joined the Lone Wolf Team. Tara has much experience at a high level show barn and will be able to help us at shows. Grooms this is an essential part of the day. We recommend that all riders have a knowledgeable groom for the day that can help our rider/parents get through the show. Some of our more advanced students are available for hire to any new students or those who wish to have help. Braiding: For riders at the Silver and Gold level shows, braiding is mandatory (by Equestrian Canada). We do encourage braiding on your own, Bronze and Fun Shows are a great time to practice. However if you do not wish to come braid in the wee morning hours we can arrange to have your horse braided. You can let Sorina know your plans for braiding this year and she will organize this. Parents: Dear Parents: We know this is an exciting time for your child and that showing can be both a fun and nervous time all wrapped into one. However, we are surrounding them with the best possible help; So here are a few reminders - Please do not crowd the in-gate when your child is entering or exiting the show ring (enjoy by relaxing and watching them from the side of the ring).

3 o This will also help with safety as too many people around and too many horses gathering where they shouldn t can lead to accidents. o Allow your child s coach to speak and review the proper procedures, courses and positive talk before they go into the ring. o Coaches will also review courses after your child has come out so for best results, children should have their attention on their coach (** please note if the coach has another student entering the ring right after your child, there might be a slight delay in review until everyone has enough time) - Coaches have a general idea of when students will enter the ring, however there can always be holdups in the show day. o Do not repeatedly ask the coach about timing of the day, they simply do not know and are very busy making sure everyone is ready for their ring appearance. They need to be focused on the riders at the show. - Your cooperation is greatly appreciated as we know that showing is a TEAM effort and parents are VERY important. We just want to make sure everyone has a good time. Payment Information: Deposit will be required when signing up for showing and leasing. Deposits are held until the end of the 2017 show season. Once all shows/leases are completed, deposits will be credited based on proper attendance of shows/lease. Payment for coaching and trailering will be due the week prior to the show. Once you have signed up for the show you will be required to provide payment for coaching and trailering to reserve your spot. Cancellations policy: If you have to cancel for any reason prior to the show; - Coaching - your deposit will cover the coaching fee and therefore you will not be refunded your deposit at the end of the season. - Trailering - you will be charged the difference in trailering if your absence affects the cost for others going. Entries most show entries are due the Tues-Thurs prior to the show. Most shows use Showmate to submit entries. Once you have created your account it is very simple to do entries for each show. You will be required to submit your entries as we feel this is a great way for people to learn this aspect of showing. However please discuss with Sorina your entries and she will be happy to help answer any questions for submitting entries and can walk you through the process. **PLEASE make sure to familiarize yourself with SHOWMATE and DIVISION names prior to the show so that we are not trying to get through it last minute. ** WE will cover this at our Easter Clinic Weekend if you have questions. (Please do not contact Caroline Hollingworth for information on your entries at the last minute. Entries need to be discussed with your coach and they will be happy to

4 help you make your entries. Caroline is not familiar with what divisions everyone is to show in.) TO NOTE - If you cancel from the show there are scratch fees associated with that that are not part of Lone Wolf. - Dressage shows have a much earlier submission date for entries please make sure if you plan to show dressage that you are aware of the closing date (it can range from a week to two weeks prior to the show and you must pay at the same time). Horses for Lease: There are options of horses that will be available for in-barn show leases (or if you decide not to show horses can still be leased if you wish to do more riding in the summer). If you are looking at showing this summer and do not have your own horse, half-leasing is a perfect way to build on your skills, build a relationship with a horse and get ready for the season at the fraction of the cost of owning your own horse. Our leases provide packages that include a lesson and use of horses at the shows. If you choose to take on a half lease you can use the rest of the time to practice on your own time or add on more lessons. Unlike most barns, we do a one time monthly fee so there is no additional cost of farrier or vet associated with the leasing of the horse. Please note that we have made this as cost efficient as possible. (this applies to Lone Wolf Horses). Some boarder horses are also available for leasing, however their lease fees may differ, please discuss with Sorina to get details on privately owned horses. Preparing a horse to show is not an inexpensive venture horses usually require new shoes with sets of cork holes and cork kits, passports, vaccines and show attire as well as the risk of the horse travelling and being off property (insurance). All of which are costs the owner is looking at. Important Information for Leases; We will offer 2 types of Half Leases. Please note that missed lessons will be made up, however missed extra rides will not be made up past their scheduled week. We offer 2 month OR 6 month leases. A small non-refundable deposit must be provided to retain the horse of choice for the lease. One month notice must be given to void the lease. Discount will be applied to anyone signing up for a 6mth half lease term. There will be a written signed contract for the lease between parent and owner of horse. Lease information These lease terms only apply to Lone Wolf Horses. If you are interested in leasing one of our boarders horses, please discuss this with Sorina.

If your selected horse/pony becomes injured for an extended period of time you will have the chance to switch your lease to another appropriate horse/pony. ** IF NOT LEASING THERE IS A $ HST USE OF HORSE CHARGE PER SHOW. HORSES WILL BE SELECTED BASED ON AVAILABILITY & CAN BE SPLIT TO REDUCE COST AT THE SHOW. ** A deposit of $75 will be due to retain your lease horse of choice. This will allow us to confirm trailering and allocate horses and ponies for leasing. Please note that leasing is a first come first serve and will also have to be approved by our coaches to make sure that it is a good match SHOWS Choose a package There will be a $50 Coaching Deposit charged when signing up for the show season. If this deposit is not used during the season, it will be provided as a credit at the end of the show season.
