1 INFORMATIONS CONCERNING REFEREES As decided by general assembly in august 2006, in Viljandi / Estonia, participating countries must have the following number of referees, of each degree for international competitions: N of teams / federation rd degree 2nd degree 1st degree An intermediate regulation determined the achievement of degrees by referees who led games in previous international competitions. According to this regulation, technical committee classified referees. This classification can be found later in this document under REFEREE CLASSIFICATION. All degrees are valid until and have to be renewed in the following 2 years. If the licence is not renewed until , the referee will lose one degree. This means, that a referee with 1 st degree, who s license has expired in 2014 and wasn t renewed until the end of 2016, will be 2 nd degree referee in 2017 and if the license isn t renewed before end of 2018, he will be 3 rd degree referee again in His license will be valid until end If the license isn t renewed until end 2020 he has to apply for a new license. Be advised, that a referee who wants to participate as referee in an international tournament in the 2 years that follow the end of validity of his degree, has to renew his degree prior to the start of the international competition. In example: A referee whose 1 st degree expired on , wants to participate in Open World Cup 2017 as 1 st degree referee has to renew his 1 st degree prior to the start of the Open World Cup If he doesn t renew, he s allowed to participate as referee, but only as 2 nd degree referee. Referee courses won t be held anymore the day before international competitions start, but national federations have to request, that a referee course is held in their home country by a member of IIA Technical Committee. All costs (transportation, meals, hotel...) for the TC-member, have to be covered by the requesting national federation. Meeting room has to be organized by requesting national federation. SPECIAL REGULATION FOR OPEN WORLD CUP 2010 in Tartu In order to allow national federations, to have more referees with 1 st and 2 nd degree, all games led in Tartu 2010 will be taken into account. The games a referee, which is holder of an IIA-referee license, has to lead to achieve 1 st or 2 nd degree can be found on page 4 of this document, under GAMES TO ACHIEVE DEGREE.
