6 MILLENNIUM DEVELOPMENT GOALS The MDGs are the world's time-bound and quantified targets; Addressing extreme poverty in its many dimensions; Had been established following the Millennium Summit of the United Nations in Bangladesh has met several goals Nations Targets (1,2,4,5,6) Remarkable progress in the areas of poverty reduction, reducing the prevalence of underweight children, increasing enrolment at primary schools, lowering the infant mortality rate and maternal mortality ratio, improving immunization coverage and reducing the incidence of communicable diseases 6
