Type of Activity GMM Seminar Socio-Civic Others: Activity in line with 4Ps Profession Professional Professional Organization Activity in support of the UAP corporate Unity Accountability Professional Excellence thrust Articles, Caption, Details and Photos: Professional Product The Officers meeting was held at Jollibee Al Khalidiah, Jeddah KSA last November 3, 2017 (Friday) at 4:30pm. Ar. Leonardo N. Morota, president of the chapter, presided the meeting. The meeting tackled the details on the upcoming activities of the chapter from November to December The following are the topics and issues presented during the meeting: 1. TOPIC 1: Badminton Tournament 2017 It was scheduled on November 24, 2017, 7:00pm-12mn at Jeddah International School badminton court. Venue is yet to be confirmed and subject for approval, will be sending request letter to the corresponding badminton clubs and JIS management. Ar. Rey Alemania will be the coordinator of the event with the help of Ar. Glenn Santander as the Committee in Sports and Recreation. Ar. Ruel Ramos volunteered to assist them in the process. Ar. Alemania will finalize the tournament format that will be using in the game while Ar. Santander will do the design of the tarpaulin and trophies. A poll will be posted on chapter s facebook group to confirm the number of players that will be joining the tournament. The game will be doubles with 1 pro and 1 beginner per team. TOPIC 2 : Oath Taking of SPLE Architecture Passers in Saudi Arabia The possible oath taking date of the SPLBE for Architects passers will be on December 1, 2017 to be hosted by Philippine Professional Organization (PPO). VP Ar. Jan Marlou Luis will be in charge of informing them about the time and venue. 3. TOPIC 3 : Celebration of the National Architecture Week The celebration of this event will be on the 3 rd week of December. An On the SpotDrawing Contest will be held on December 15, pm at Boracay Restaurant, Al Balad Jeddah, KSA. This event will coincide with the UAP KSA-WRC Year End Party. Ar, Jann-Rizz Maravillas will send invitation letters to the participating Philippine schools here in Jeddah: (1) Gems International School (2) Bader International School (3) Durat AlSharq International School (4) International Philippine School Jeddah The invited school will be having a maximum of 2 participants. One female and one male. Participants must be on intermediate level and to be accompanied by a teacher as coach. The mentor architect that will help the participant will be selected during the event. The possible prize for the winner will be polaroid camera or cellphone and the consolation prizes for the non-winners will be a Bluetooth headphone. 4. TOPIC 4 : UAP KSA-WRC Year-End Party themed Hatid Saya The program of the year end party will compose mainly of the following: - On the Spot Drawing Contest c/o Ar. Arnel Punzalan - Introduction of New Passers c/o Ar. Jan Marlou Luis - Introduction of current officers of the chapter - Presentation of accomplishment of the UAP KSA-WRC for the 1 st half of FY will be by Ar. Leonado Morota - Awarding of Certificates/throphies for Revit Seminar, Heritage Tour and Badminton Tournament. Ar. Maravillas shall do a draft to assign a number of minutes for all parts of the program and will be assigned to prepare games for the event. A raffle draw will be the finale of the said event with a Canon DSLR as the main prize. Other prizes will be awarded by invited sponsors. Sixty (60) SAR will be collected from all members as their contribution for food and prizes. There will be seventy coffee mugs that will be given to all participants as giveaways as per suggested by Ar. Ernest Pertierra. There will be exchange gift with a minimum amount of Fifty Riyals (SAR 50). The agendas of the meeting were discussed properly and the meeting then was adjourned at 6:30pm. 3 ACTIVITY NO.2 Title of Activity Revit Lecture Date November 3 and 10, 2017 Total Attendees 15 Venue Jollibee Al Khalidiah Objective of the Activity To further expand the knowledge in modern software designing for continuous development. Type of Activity GMM Seminar Socio-Civic Others: Meeting Activity in line with 4Ps Profession Professional Professional Organization Professional Product Activity in support of the UAP corporate thrust Unity Accountability Professional Excellence The Yellow Team headed by Ar. Leonardo N. Morota presented the 2 nd GMM of UAP KSA-WRC entitled Autodesk Revit 2017 Seminar happened last October 13, 2017, 1:30-4:30pm held at Jollibee Al Khalidiah. Ar. Joseph Musa was invited to be the lecturer of the said seminar. A brief introduction of the said software and the required specification for Laptop were tackled. A Revit chat group was created among the interested members. The chapter scheduled 3 more Fridays to cover the Revit basics.. A comprehensive lecture was held in the same time and venue so that the interested architects will be able to further expand their knowledge about the program for continuous development. Ar. Musa was so willing to share his knowledge to help each member of the chapter to consider Revit as a new software in designing so that they will be able to cope up with the popular design tool of today s modern world. 4 ACTIVITY NO.3 Title of Activity 2017 SPLE Arki Passers Victory Party Date November 24,2017 Total Attendees 21 Venue Cabalen Sarawat International Objective of the Activity To be able to celebrate the victory of the new passers in SPLE here in Saudi Arabia. Type of Activity GMM Seminar Socio-Civic Others: Meeting Activity in line with 4Ps Profession Professional Professional Organization Professional Product Activity in support of the UAP corporate thrust Unity Accountability Professional Excellence After waiting for almost two months, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced last November 3, 2017 that 17 out of 24 examinees from Jeddah KSA passed the Special Professional Licensure Examination for Architects given by the Board of Architecture headed by its Chairman, Arch. Robert S. Sac and board member, Arch. Robert M. Mirafuente. The examination was held last September 2017 at Bin Sina Medical College here in Jeddah Saudi Arabia. To celebrate their success, The UAP KSA-WRC held a SPLBE for Architects Passers Victory Party last November 24, 2017 at Cabalen Restaurant, Jeddah International Market. Only ten new architects were able to make it to the event as the other seven architects left already to be with their families in the Philippines. Ar. Jan Marlou A. Luis prepared a short program for the event. Each of the new architects must give a short and concise speech in front of the audience to thank the people who supported them along their journey to where they are now. They mostly thank their mentors in the UAP KSA-WRC chapter the all-out support and prayers that the chapter have given them. All the hard work and patience of the mentors has paid off and now they are enjoying the fruit of their labor. UAP KSA-WRC Chapter President Leonardo Morota and Past President Clemente Gatbonton also gave an inspirational message to the new architects. They said that these new architects must support the unfortunate ones who did not pass the exam just the way their mentors undoubtedly supported them. Their victory must not be put on their heads but to remain as humble as possible as they will take a new chapter in their personal life and career. The victory party then ended at exactly 4:30pm. 6 ACTIVITY NO.4 Title of Activity Badminton Tournament Date November 24,2017 Total Attendees 24 Venue Jeddah International School Objective of the Activity To build friendship and form camaraderie through sport activity. Type of Activity GMM Seminar Socio-Civic Others: Meeting Activity in line with 4Ps Profession Professional Professional Organization Professional Product Activity in support of the UAP corporate thrust Unity Accountability Professional Excellence The Badminton Tournament happened on the 24 th day of November of the current year was an event purposely to build friendship among the architects and also form camaraderie and sportsmanship through leisure activity. Ar. Glenn A. Santander, the committee on sports and recreation, organized the event with the approval of the chapter president, Ar. Leonardo N. Morota. The said event started at exactly 7:00 pm at the badminton court of the Jeddah International School. The tournament game format was doubles with six games that must be played in the first round to accommodate all the twenty-four players. Before starting the tournament, the players took some warm ups so that they will be physically and mentally ready for the game. The tournament started with the game between the duo of Ar. Rey Alemania & Ar. Jann-Rizz Maravillas versus the team of Ar. Luna Caceres and her new partner which is an outsider because Ar. Cornejo were not able to made it to the event. Substitution were arranged to fill the missing players who were absent during the event so that the game ladder will not be affected so much as per suggested by the Committee on Sports and Recreation, Ar. Glenn Santander. Unfortunately, Ar. Luna Caceres were injured while playing badminton in one of her games. Her left wrist was injured when she fell into the concrete floor while catching shuttle cock. She was immediately addressed with first aid before taken to the hospital. Her husband Ar. Gerard Caceres with the assistance of Ar. Rubee Pertierra took her to King Faisal Specialist Hospital for immediate evaluation and treatment. The tournament then resumes and ending up with the duo of Ar. Glenn Santander and Ar. Ernest Pertierra declared champions. The tournament ended at 11:00 pm. Awarding of trophies will be given during the 3 rd GMM on December 15, 2017 at Boracay Restaurant, Al Balad Jeddah KSA.
