3 The XVI PACIFIC GAMES TAHITI NUI 2019 ESTIMATED DATES To take advantage to the maximum of the fresh period and especially school holidays, the proposed dates for the XVI Pacific Games Tahiti Nui 2019 are : July 27 to august 10th The opening ceremony is scheduled for Saturday July 27 July and Saturday, August 10 for the closing ceremony. In accordance with the provisions of the Charter, Sundays july 28 and August 4 shall be days rest for our competitors. Countries Sports Ministers meeting will be held at the admiral Hôtel on Sunday July 28, 2019, Pacific Games Council Congress will also be held at the admiral Hôtel on Sunday August 04, PER DIEM According Protocol of the Pacific Games Charter, the Bid guarantees that the per diem covering accommodation of athletes and team officials will not exceed the sum of $30 USD (US dollars) per day. The Bid, and, therefore, the Organizing (TN 2019) undertake to do what is necessary to maintain the expected amount. THE PACIFIC GAMES COUNCIL Members The Pacific Games Council consists of representatives of the Olympic committees of the twenty-two (22) countries in the Oceania zone, namely: American Samoa, Cook Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji Islands, Guam, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Nauru, New Caledonia, Niue, Northern Mariana Islands, Norfolk Island, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tahiti, Tokelau, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, Wallis and Futuna. The two athlete s game villages are the same one used for the 1995 Pacific Games. They will be completely renewed ad upgraded 38

14 CATERING Catering centres are already part of the three Game village s infrastructures. The strict respect of oceania food habits will be observed. MEDICAL French Polynesia disposes of a modern and high-performance medical centre, the hospital of Taaone in Pirae, and two private clinics on Papeete. A medical centre will be installed in each Village of the games for the benefit of the athletes and team officials properly accredited. A continuous 24/7 and 24/7 services will be provided. Doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and osteopaths will be available to look after the athletes and their team officials. A health information centre will be located next to the medical centre. Athletes and their staff will be able to find advice and information on various diseases and infections, and the doping control. DOPING CONTROL French Polynesia is putting in place a regulation on the doping control. For the games, a doping control center will be established and equipped with specifically trained and certified personnel who will conduct tests. Athletes participating in the 16th Pacific Games TN2019 may be subjected to a test at any time and in any place. The tests may be carried out on the sites of competition or training, without prior warning. The anti-doping Centre will work in partnership with regional organizations (ORADO) and the World Anti-Doping Agency. The French analytical laboratory Chatenay-Malabry, accredited by the WADA, will conduct the tests. TELECOMMUNICATIONS French Polynesia has one of the most modern telecommunications in Oceania. 98% of the territory is covered by fix network, mobile telephony and internet. Polynesia is connected to the world via Honotua cable which allows international communications at very high speed. The deployment of FTTH (Fiber To The Home) network on the island of Tahiti will be completed in 2017 and will connect with fiber optic broadband all competition venues, reserved areas for medias, Games Villages and hotels. Islands hosting Games sports events, all games sites will be connected with the same level capacity of transmission. The mobile network is available on all Islands where the games will be held. Subscription formulas «à la carte» are available for fixed, mobile and internet telephony. Pre-paid chips will also be available. MEDIAS Partnerships agreements with local and international medias and TV broadcast will be established to ensure a maximum of medias impact in the Pacific region. Press rooms will be equipped with everything necessary to facilitate the work of Medias and meet their needs. All sites will be connected with the most efficient means of transmission. A «media» cell will allow monitoring the events in real time which will be relayed on the website of the COPF. 39

22 OUR GUARANTEES 1. From the moment where the Pacific Games Council will have decided to commit to the care of Tahiti Nui the organization of the 16th Pacific Games TN 2019, the Olympic of French Polynesia shall undertake, by signing with the Pacific Games Council an Organization contract, to scrupulously the dispositions of the Games Charter. In addition, we ll take a special attention to respect the following rules and those listed in the third part of the Charter: Protocol 2 Protocol 9 Protocol 10 Protocol 11 Protocol 13 Protocol 14 Protocol 18 Obligations of the Olympic and the Organizing of the host country The Pacific Games Villages Satellite Villages Transport Arrangements for the Council in the Host PGA Medical International Delegates/Observers 2. We are confirming to invite to these 16th games, all States and territories affiliated with the Council, and we will ensure: I That they can freely enter our country, receive free entry fees, exit, visa or customs; II That they ll can take part in the games without discrimination of any kind based on race, colour, sex, religious or political beliefs. 3. We commit ourselves to bring to the attention of the PGA all laws, customs or rules limiting, restrictive, or likely to impede the games in any manner. 4. 23 CONCLUSION The COPF is aware of issues related to the candidacy of Tahiti for the games of The President Tauhiti NENA with the support of all his team is ready to meet this challenge. The country is behind the Polynesian sports movement to make of 2019 the games year and take advantage of this great opportunity to develop new sports infrastructures required for such an event. Polynesian youth will be the first to benefit from these facilities which meet its sporting, social and educational needs. The infrastructures for the games in 1963 and especially 1995 are still in used after all these long years and still allow Polynesian athletes to illustrate themselves in national, regional and international competitions. The 2019 Games will again allow all our Oceania cousins to take advantage of our legendary welcome and tight even more the ties that bind the values of sport, fair play and respect we have shared since the first Pacific Games. THE PACIFIC SPIRIT, We all have it more than ever inside us and Tahiti will be the carrier in 2019! 48
